Check out the Hedgehog may cry mod. It makes a nice amount of combat changes. Though the changes turn all the fights into damage sponge battles in the early stages of the game on hard difficulty I'm enjoying it. It does make me wish more enemies can be tossed around too.
Fun fact, if you do it right, you can launch giganto in the air with a cyloop in front of his head and get tons of damage in, even with another cyloop!
@@ZeroMist every Titan in the game has a Cyloop animation. Just use Quick Cyloop on them when able to damage them. Knights case you parry them first then use it. I HIGHLY recommend you try it out as its incredibly brutal what Sonic does to them, and use it again before entering phase 2 or a cutscene for an extra animation. You do need to charge Quick Cyloop first though, or if daring do a regular Cyloop.

It feels like a glitch to me, but not like a major one. It makes me thing of spin dash jumping in Sa2. Where it’s not that “glitchy” but wasn’t intended But also, idk for sure lol
@@gapplssb a glitch is doing something or something happening that causes the game to behave in an unintended way. this is fully intended, as the air boost is supposed to maintain upward/downward momentum; it just so happens that combining it with the stomp attack gives it a ton of upward momentum to maintain, and as such, sonic is launched. perfectly intentional, just not discovered by sonic team before launch.
One thing to note, the tower skip isn't really viable in a regular run because without the preorder dlc getting enough skillpoints for stomp via cyloop would take too long
New Boost tech: Stutter boosting: as the name implies Stutter boosting is clicking the boost button rapidly instead of holding it down. This is optimal as it wastes less boost gauge and keeps similar if not the exact same speed as regular boosting Edit: It actually wastes no boost gauge if done correctly.
stutter boosting is easy on controller (at least on ps5) the timing doesn't have to be that preciise either, so long as you just tap it within the first frames of the animation where sonic boosts forward
It’s super easy I did this in my playthrough the whole time. I didn’t even realize it wasn’t normal until I saw some people hold the boost and I felt stupid until I realized it was the same speed
There is a glitch were you can fly forever and the game says you have completed your mission or something. I did it on the first stage on accident, I don't know if anyone has discovered it yet.
Problem is, the method is too slow when it comes to giganto, as it is just punch stomp punch stomp until you can parry, then parry, punch stomp and so on If you can manage to cyloop the shoulder in phase 1, you can start dealing crazy dmg, then cyloop again to send him down when you stop seeing him take dmg, commence phase 2, cyloop is harder to use here but if you can, do it. Then rinse and repeat and finish off giganto in the cyloop (yes this is possible)
For me the biggest issue is that you need to completely release stomp button (for me circle) before pressing boost. So like dodge>stomp instantly then let go of both then burst. But its so quick. I’d have 10 tries in a row where it was only distance and then change nothing and get the highest possible next try
After I finished sonic frontiers I restarted the whole game and speedran Kronos Island in 1 you’re and 30 minutes still slow considering what I just saw here
But you used that code dlc right? I don't have that one so it will be a little hard for me with tower and 1-2. And I am pretty sure those types of DLC are banned for speedruns.
Yeah it’s a separate category now. I’m working on the full any% run now, you have to use the level entry pillar to fly up to an invisible floor and then dash around another invisible wall to skip tower. It’s kind of hard lol but feels “consistent” once you get it.

Yeah, I super agree. That's why one of my favorite runs is sonic adventure 2 180 emblem because you have to get A ranks on every stage as opposed to skipping the entire thing and getting an E. The 100% run for this game is going to be epic for sure, I'm excited to see some of the best runners do it (I'm not nearly as good as them lol) For me, I just like finding games with cool glitches, I think it's cool when something crazy like this flying glitch is discovered.

I didn’t preorder, but aren’t there other enemies before ninja/after ninja. I never killed them but if they drop skill points that’d be quick

I didn’t get the deluxe so I think it’s just how much you get. You only need 18 skill points for the stomp

home boost has to be intentional, the beginning of 3-6 is built around it

The way he got infinite boost is by making an infinite symbol with cycloop. Try this, it works.

It’s the stomp ability. So once it’s unlocked you can press the stomp button to do it. Makes the fight way faster than no special abilities
