The single will be released as free download on Monday 15th March 2010.

I think this song is one of the deepest, most unique songs I have ever heard, and it is just pure art. What I think it is about is loss. And constantly having to seek the momentary comfort of cigarettes and drink to avoid the loss becoming too much to bear; hence the title 'nicotine and alcohol saved my life'. The loss might be someone you love dying - like in the video - or someone you love leaving you - the line 'if I were to have just one more day I'd make sure that I spent it without you' I think speaks to how the person that left really hurt you and although you miss them so much, you don't want them back anymore because of they pain they caused.

This is my most replayed song ever and yet I still haven't grown tired of it. My music taste has totally changed since the first time I listened to this song, I listen to a lot of KPop and a little bit of Hip Hop too now but I always end up finding myself back here anyway. This is such a good song regardless of what genre you're into I think.

Almost the same for me. Back in 2010 there was alot of Underoath, Deaf Havana etc. Today it's mostly K-pop, but yeah, this song(and many of their other songs) will always be great.

I remember that I loved this song but I forgot after this band long time ago until the released all this countless nights, I really liked this album even though I'm metal head an ATCN was definetly not an metal album

This song holds multiple meanings to different scenarios that have happened over the course of my life and I can confidently say no song has ever come close to doing for me what this song has. Honestly still a masterpiece from when I heard it 11 years ago. To anyone that frequently returns here for a bit of comfort like myself, it gets better :)

+InfinityOnHi I literally still listen to this song, have been since it came out, and it makes me feel like ass, all the time. Old DH is fantastic. The FAWL album is their best, in my opinion. However, they do have some great new songs. Will always be my favorite band.

I've loved this band since here, and I still love the band. Both DH era's are incredible to me, I wish Ryan would come back, but James is doing such a good job right now. Ryan seems pretty happy with his life at the moment.

I love both as different bands.
I can't really say they're the same band anymore, sure they have most of the same members, but they're so different to the point most of my younger friends are surprised to learn they used to be post hardcore and have a screamer.

If you preferred the old Deaf Havana with their music 2 years ago, I dread to think how much you must be preferring it to their new stuff here in 2018. I'm also in exactly the same mindset.
Prefer new Deaf Havana to this, Old Souls is a masterpiece imo. Don't get me wrong, I like heavy music but I feel like this band in particular is much better suited to what they're doing now.

Woah, slow down with the hostility, and cussing, sailor mouth. I just think it feels like two different songs with the screaming, it does't fit, it takes out the feeling and he's kind of just, shouting words one after another except for linking them and making an actual verse or chorus. I'm not saying that screaming is bad in general, because I enjoy it, but I know enough through my musical experience that some songs just don't need it, or maybe just use a little of it.
GrantTV101 I used to think the same as you and I thought the screaming sort of ruined it... but the more I listened to the song, the more I came to appreciate the contrast of the harsh screaming and the clean vocals, especially if you know the lyrics. The screaming makes the song as emotionally charged as it is in my opinion

Saw these guys in london along with there for tomorrow. Best gig ive been to hands down man serious. These guys were amazing and this song was by far the best song ever throughout all the gigs ive seen. Cant wait to see them again.

I see these along with young guns at luton student union and they all put on great shows and spoke to the singer of deaf and was a genuinly nice person. Aim for download and sonisphere because give it a few years these guys will be there!!!

Back in 2010 I could feel what love feels like for the first time, I wish i could understand feelings behind those songs it took me a few years to find someone and make me feel this way and now here with a broken heart i wish i was the same Amanda i was 6 years ago.
