lots of great info here and I am getting rather overwhelmed now that I have found this program but will try to learn and you do teach nicely. Never say you repeat things too often. The more repetition that is done the more the student can learn. Only other comment I would make is the you refer to the 2 catch lights. Actually, there should always only be one catch light in the eyes based upon the main light which provides the direction of light and is meant to simulate daylight when using artificial light. There is only one Sun so only one catch light. Best to remove the secondary catch light and I would expect but not certain that this would be done prior to doing the coloring of the eye but I would be interested in knowing your thoughts about this as there may be a better or best way of removing a secondary catch light.

A faster way to change eye color is to use RECOLOR from the effects. It will color the entire photo, so make it close to the color you want for the eyes. Then, use Command I to invert the mask of RECOLOR and use a white paint brush to paint in the eye color. Use black to erase any areas that the white brush brought it that it shouldn't have. Hope this helps.

    Hello Chris,
I like your tutorials a lot. I really enjoy your peacefull and easy to understand explanations. I want to ask: Can you make a tutorial on creating the base of the parallax effect in affinity? A preperation so to speak. So I can export the base as a PSD file with layers to Apple Motion to create the final result?

Jurriën L. Dokter thank you, by parallax effect I take it you mean where you animate a 2d photo so that it looks 3D parallax?

Chris P Williams Yes, but perhaps this request is too simple, because the main part of creating the effect is in Motion. I can find several explanations with Photoshop (or Gimp) as the layer creator, but none with Affinity. I seemed like a nice subject to me for you to handle in a tutorial. The biggest part is creating layers and the use of the Content Aware Tool ;-) within Affinity. And the export as PSD with layers off course.
