Very rare original 1966 UK 20-page 5½" x 8¾" programme for the 1965-66 New Music Express Poll-Winners All-Stars Concert, staged at the Empire Pool, London [now Wembley Arena] on Sunday May 1st. This was The Beatles' first live performance of the year & their last ever UK concert appearance!
Other artists on the bill included the Spencer Davis Group, Cliff Richard, Rolling Stones, Small Faces, Dusty Springfield, The Who, Yardbirds & Walker Brothers. Obtained from its one previous owner & original concert attendee, the programme shows that it was in the possession of one hysterical fan at the time, with some creasing, corner folds & the odd small tear mark as expected, with all pages intact & no writing. Some light foxing is noticeable on the back, not spoiling the print.
This is such a pleasing example caught up in the pop whirlwind explosion of the day, & better still, it is complete with the original ticket for the Sunday show, all in one piece, appearing delicate & weak as it might with light creasing only. A dream piece for any sixties collector!
