- Here is the presentation of the Beatles during the NME Poll-Winner's Show, The Beatles played a 15-minute set which included five songs: I Feel Fine, Nowhere Man, Day Tripper, If I Needed Someone and I'm Down. But , Brian Epstein (The Beatles's Manager) failed to reach an agreement over terms, so the cameras were turned off while The Beatles performed...

always loved this era of the beatles. they were beyond stoned and bored out of their minds nearly all of the time, and well into psychedelia as well. they were less interested in the "kid-friendly" events as such and were in the midst of creating their most ominous record to date - revolver. few in the audience could have predicted what they were cooking up.
Always regret that there isn't any visual documentation of this performance. What a shame.
At least there were with their two previous performances there from the past two years
@@freddyrichards878 ye but this was their last time here and during their last year live
The 4 Kings of EMI.
The fact that the cameras were switched off for this concert is insane to say the least. Probably one of the greatest line ups in the history of pop and we don't have the opportunity to see it.
Richard Hunter thanx to Brian.
There’s audio of 2 songs I don’t remember the first one but the other one is I’m down
@@chrisledoux1884 Do tell. WHERE?!
@@alonenjersey I was wrong it was just audio from their Atlanta show in 65
@@chrisledoux1884 Oh well, another dream of a Beatles fan of 50 years shot to Hell. Thanks anyway.
I do recall reading about the Beatles' performance here not being filmed. Thanks for the song list; I have heard all of those songs in recordings of other concerts. Three of the songs are too new for 1965 Shea Stadium concert. One year after THIS event, things would be very different because of Sgt. Pepper and end of touring.
Thank you!
My dad, Maurice Kinn promoted this particular show and this is the back story surrounding these awards:
The 1966 show was probably the greatest line-up of assembled artists of the 60s and maybe ever (Beatles. Stones, Who, Yardbirds, Small Faces, Spencer Davis, Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison, Walker Brothers to name a few) . The order of events in the contract stated that The Stones would close one part of the evening show followed by the presentation of awards, and then the Beatles would close the whole show…. What actually happened was the Stones did such an amazing set that the place went wild, so much so that the Fabs appeared at the back, instruments in hand, ready to come on and blow them off the stage…….Dad wasn’t having any of it. He told Brian Epstein that if they don’t go on after the awards, then they don’t go on at all which would probably cause a riot for which he would hold Eppie and the Fabs responsible and writs would follow. In the end Epstein backed down but not without Lennon becoming apoplectic and forever holding a massive resentment.
Adam Kinn The last UK live concert. (excpt the rooftop) The cameras were to be switched off anyway?
Yes that's the info i discovered too. Such a shame what an unbelievable line up too, can only find this footage of The Beatles getting their awards, the 64 and 65 show is up there in full.
Whatever happened it was stupid like not filiming the two top bands
Incredible story thanks Adam. What a tragedy. Similar hijinks and ego occurred with the Woodstock movie of course
It just goes to show you how big their egos had become by this time, especially Lennon, they didn't like being upstaged by anyone.
Only time ever that George plays his SG live and they shut off the cameras. Really annoying.
There is footage of George playing his sg live at the Circus Krone Bau from the same year. Not sure which song he brings it out for since there's no audio for some of the footage. However, in the police footage you can clearly see it.
At 16:44 you can clearly see it. Maybe it was Daytripper when he brings it out but I'm not too certain. m.ruclips.net/video/4HnDeqYYvGA/видео.html
The beginning of the end of the Beatles and just before their final gig. John even said that the Beatles really split after Brian died in 1967. Everything after that is almost solo and the magic that made them create some much great music between 63-66 was going
Paul’s tooth is chipped; this is 5/1/66 and you can see the chip in their video Paperback Writer 5/20/66.
The story is that he fell off his moped; I saw the pic they put out, looks very strange - you can see erased pixilation. Looks more like he was on the receiving end of someone’s fist, maybe with a ring on it.
Oh yeah he was definitely not going along with their plan
beginning of the end
Small or not Paul had a beautiful face like a baby!
Disappointing that there is no music to this. That would have been a great set to listen to. (see the 5 songs in the description above.)
Anyone have the Beatle's music set to this video?
May 1, 1966...the last concert The Beatles gave in the U.K.
what are the reasons behind that?
@@alexhnzz9301 Try a Google search. There's really too many reasons to discuss halfway de cency in this forum.
@@alexhnzz9301 Of course I meant decency, NOT de cency!!!
@@alexhnzz9301 Third time's a charm--I should have said decently instead of decency!!!
Nah the last UK concert was the rooftop one
Ah, those innocent times. I was only born that year. Grrh.
Wasn't the Beatles segment not shown as ITV and NEMS couldn't agree a fee
Clint is 6'6"....I believe the Beatles ranged from 5'8' to 5'11" so he had 7 inches on the tallest of the lads.
When I saw them in '65, my first impression was that these were 4 small guys. Even accounting for the my distance from the stage, they appeared to be shorter than average. And over the years, I've played a Hofner, a Country Gent, and a Ric 325. These guitars look smaller on me, than they did on them; and I'm 5'10".
+Michael Powell Small or not this guys were geniuses!.
south bend George was 6 foot John and Paul were the same height at 5'11" and ringo was the smallest
@@scotlander101 no way was George taller than John and Paul, or 6', not by a long shot
So cool the Beatles with Clint walker. Clint is still around. So are Paul and Ringo.
.......How sad that the organizer is shown coming out. But, when it came to the Beatles being introduced and walking on stage.......... that was cut and when the video returns The Beatles are already on stage. LOL Somebody screwed up royally.
John & George are still with me ...I can see them everyday ..
Paul's closing his mouth all the time because his tooth was broken a few days before
In december 1965.
On Dec 26 1965
@RareVideos@Random Don't lie.
@@Wayne_Schlagel only realised your name
Saw nothing unusual about his behaviour .🖐🙄
I can tell Paul was self conscious about his smile, he had a chipped tooth and was trying to hid it.
Hey Adam Kinn! Here's yer Dad Maurice Kinn at 49 seconds. but how come the Beatles didn't speak this year?
Hi Henry - read my comment from 5 years ago 😀
I'm sorry to say this but honestly, that was a really stupidly-handled presentation. The boys had to stand there and no one gave them the opportunity to speak few words, even if it was for John to say "You've got a lucky face!" Oh well. Even Paul finally made an expression on his face as if to say, "Phew, this really boring."
To be honest jade I don’t think the audience would give them a chance to speak
muita burrice e falta de visão não registrar um momento historico como esse!
Nice thumbnail.......👍🥴
I wish Apple or someone had this performance film.really didn't`t they film it?Why?I fuckin wanna watch it.
They look so little next to Clint.
AINT THAT A SHAME.....
3:48 Too tall Paul, #2 Paul?
Haha I can see Paul's broken tooth!! 😄 and he looks insecure here too lol
Bless him, he looked really uncomfortable.
Афигеть..говорить не будем..так они часто поступали в то время..))
What was John looking at ?
I would'nt be surprised if John had his eyes closed behind those sunglasses.
John couldn’t see without prescriptions
This is 65 not 66!
Definitely May 66
Twilight Of The Gods…E
But we have to remember that it was the hight of the Vietnam war. Regardless of the medals.
Stupid mistake Bri

Four Bob Dylans
The Beatles were one of the reasons Dylan went electric, after making a name for himself acoustically. Both the group and Dylan were actually good friends who mutually liked each other's music.
I would have screamed louder for Clint Walker. The Beatles never did a thing for me.
Good for you!
Oh do tell
TheSharron : So you're the one...
Does not look like Paul at all!
