Thanks Shawn, Jesus has shown us how much He loves and honors us by partaking of life as we live it. He didn't come to lord over us but to show us that honoring our uniqueness, honoring our choices, however hurtful they may be to Him, is the best way for Him to show us his care for us. Strangely enough He honors our choices above our eternal existence. He is a God of the ultimate freedom, freedom to choose.
Praise the Lord for what He did for us through His only Son! And praise God for this message - thank you VOP and Pastor Boonstra for sharing this message and explaining it so well!
Jesus came to be one of us where we are and sends us to meet people where they are, to use every opportunity to point to Him (even using words if we are so blessed).
I don’t understand some of those comments. Pastor Shawn did a great job explaining Christ’s 2 personalities. Plain & simple, He is both God & man. We will never understand it, so we have to take it on faith, because that’s what the Bible teaches.
Sean, you’re the best speaker I have ever listened to and I’ve listened to an awful lot of RUclips personalities that are Adventist inclined. Thank you so much for what you do keep up the good work I live in assisted living all my money goes to my room and just a little bit is left over a month, in the future if I have a dime to give outside of going to church, I will try to make a donation but let it be known for me that I truly am thankful for what you do and keep it going today. Happens to be the sabbath so I will say happy sabbath.
Very good message as always Shawn! Been a long time since we’ve connected! Miss you! Merry belated Christmas to you and the family! May we never forget, neglect and God for bit even deny the only reason for this season! Matthew 1:21,23 KJV [21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. [23] Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Blessings! Keep up the good work!
Sean, I really appreciate your open, honest explanations and the fact that you tell your audience...go to the Bible and read it for yourself, don't just take my word for it. Blessings to you and yours. Merry Christmas. Prayers for your ministry.
Yes, to many, Christmas is a season of buying gifts and giving gifts. Kids only expects gifts from Santa. No one really celebrate it as a birthday of Christ other than at church. God only asked us to remember one day and keep it holy. That's the Sabbath Day. He never told us to remember his birth or death nor any other day. Therefore, I don't have to make those days special. However, at this moment, my Sabbath has began. So, happy Sabbath, everyone!😊
this show is "the gospel by fear" - Marx didn't say the church is the oppressor. Those who claim that simply never read his book. The world has real oppressors, but I think if Boonstra named them for real, he would loose his donors
Jesus was sinless in his human form which means he was in the same state as Adam and Eve before their fall. Perfect in every way. Which meant man had no contribution to the making of the human part of Jesus aside from Mary carrying Jesus and giving birth. Gratefully Jesus lived a perfect life while amongst us. He was tempted as we are in every way. My issue is the false worship of his birth on the day which is pagan. We know he was not born on December 25. We are told to worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 If we feel it is important to keep the 7th day which man had changed to the 1st day of the week why do we keep a man made date for Jesus's birthday because that is false worship. I believe there is nothing wrong with remembering his miraculous birth and with a little work we know it was around Sept./Oct. During the feast of tabernacles. I know Jesus didn't give us his birthday nor pictures of him for a reason. He did instruct us on the Lord's Supper to keep in remembrance of him as often as we chose. Why do Christians worship Jesus in falseness?
Adventists can sometimes get too caught up in discussing Christ's human nature. We throw around the question of whether or not He had a pre-fall or post-fall human nature. If it was pre-fall, it would not have been a fair test. But to say it was post-fall is to say He was defiled. The problem is the influence of the doctrine of original sin. That's not a truth from the Bible but a Catholic idea to justify baby baptism as far as I know. We believe in original weakness of character but not a guilt passed on to each generation. We're only responsible for our own sins, not Adam's. However, I've never heard an Adventist yet who goes on and on about Jesus having a post-fall nature who doesn't end up suggesting by it that we can save ourselves through obedience. The way I like to say it is "He had a perfect Godly mind in a weak human body". Anything else is overthinking the issue.
WE are told to come out of Babylon and touch not the unclean things. Christ Mass. How much more pagan and Babylonish can you get. Shame on preachers who try to justify mixing the holy with the profane. They will give account and there will be blood on their hands.
I had to stop listening to VOP, and 7th day Adventers. You guys have a habit of lumping the church together. When real evangelicals know the difference between the RCC and Protestants
The Protestant church is increasingly returning to Rome. The late Anglican priest Tony Palmer famously stated: Brothers and sisters, Luther’s protest is over. Is yours?” Then he added, “so, the protest has been over for 15 years… If there is no more protest, how can there be a Protestant church? Maybe now we’re all Catholics again!” As well there are still many Roman doctrines that Protestants maintain: “It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.” Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, NJ ‘News’ on March 18, 1903. “Protestants … accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change… But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that … in observing Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the Church, the pope.” Our Sunday Visitor, February 5th, 1950.
Great presentation, as is usual! 🥰😇
It's Authentic. Praise God.
Thankyou for sharing.

Acts 1:11 is not what is in your power point. You quoted Genesis 12:1-2. I appreciate your series in explaining this biblical truth. God bless you
Bibliophile? A moment at age 80 can be infinitely longer and richer than a moment at age 19? Exactly. That is the glorious gist of relativity.
Great sermonette Shawn. Only one problem, it's Sabbath where I am at right now and your show has been stopped 3 times for commercials!
Some of the Bible is Common sense. Like when God revealed to Joseph and Mary That they were going to have a baby Jesus.

The verses at 20:47 are wrong and are from Hebrews chapter 2 instead of 4.
