- Knowing your history is critical. Without it, a person could all too easily slip into the role of persecutor. And Shawn Boonstra says that could be the reason other people stop trusting Christians.
Dive into the rich tapestry of history with us as we explore the pivotal role of first-century Palestine in shaping Christianity and the narrative of Jesus. This video highlights the potential pitfalls of not fully grasping historical contexts, which can lead to skewed interpretations of faith. We'll also take a closer look at the Roman occupation, examining its effects on religious freedom and the hurdles it created for the Jewish community. By understanding these historical contexts, we aim to deepen your understanding and appreciation of the Christian faith. Join us on this enlightening journey through history! - Развлечения
You are SO RIGHT about the dangers of forgetting our histories!!! The following sentiment has been expressed by a number of scholars, but as you mentioned, the Spanish writer and philosopher George Santayana originally wrote, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Amen!!! 🙏❤️❤️❤️

Recently when I post links to the show on my local church's Facebook page a preview does not come up. Do you know any reason why this could happen?
I don't agree with his comments that "we" did horrible things like the Romans. The Holy Roman Empire was completely separate from the original Christian church and in fact persecuted early Christians as heretics. So "we" should not include true Christians.
Can someone explain what he meant by saying we got the dates wrong
So when was Daniel written ?
Daniel lived as a young man under the babylonians, then the meds and Persians but went to sleep with his father's before the Grecian empire so he lived long before the Roman empire
@@michaelmclaughlin4374 There is a school of thought that Daniel was retro-inserted into the Babylonian Captivity. It was written before the Empire, but was contemporary with the Republic ~ 168 BC
@mikev4621 that's not what the Bible says Daniel was among the first captives taken to Babylon so in light of the accuracy of Biblical prophecy concerning the nation's that dominated the middle east I am taking the Biblical account of Dniel the same way
The music towards the end is very distracting.
