@@TheCroclady I have a question, do crocs have a social hierarchy and see you as alpha or just as a foodgiver? And why would they get territorial if you're the one who gives food to them?
@@daemonzap1481 To answer your question, from my observations over many years, I believe crocs do have a social hierarchy. In my home, it appears Johnie (the older & larger dominant female croc) sees me as the alpha alongside herself. She dominates the smaller male croc, the cats & even my son ! But doesn’t have any issues with me. The smaller male croc, however, does try to dominate me & I have to be be wary around him. However, my son dominates Fovian (the younger & smaller male croc). So in the social order, there’s Johnie & myself as the alphas, then my son & Fovian. My female saltwater croc also appeared to be the alpha alongside me & was more dominant towards my son & anyone else. Female crocs appear to bond with female humans & male crocs with male humans

No, they won't eat the cats & the older croc has learned to live with the cats. The younger croc, however, tends to chase the cats....but he's a male & territorial & protective of the female croc.
Linniepinne01 well I've studied them, raised them, kept them for years, and while this ladies methods aren't particularly normal, she's in no danger of being eaten, and I assure you these animals do not attack without warning, only someone who hasn't studied them would make such an ill advised claim.
Actually I find Freshies to be way more defensive & snappy than the Salties I've had ! However, these 2 Freshies have adapted well to their surroundings in my home & are basically okay to get along with......thanks for your comment :)
Hello my name is Adam. I saw you on an episode of "Fatal Attractions" . I just have some questions: 1. Did you decide that you should be on this show? 2. Did you later think this show you were on further give crocs the reputations of man eaters? 3. What got you started with crocs?
+Adam Whitehead Hi Adam, No, I agreed to be filmed for this show, when asked by a producer from Animal Planet. I was hoping my story would show people there's another side to Crocodiles......their intelligence & when well fed, they can be quite docile. However, my Crocs are also raised in an artificial, domestic environment........but I do believe Crocs are not instinctive killers & only kill for food & for territorial reasons. I've had a fascination in Crocs since childhood, & have kept them as pets, studying & observing them & their behaviours (as well as loving & caring for them) since 1979. They are an amazing animal !!
+Vicki Lowing how can she afford pay tv when she feeds these girls lol? You know what, the pay tv subscribers miss out. The real show is your life! Good for you my dear!
Fresh water croc fact: The reason their snouts are more narrow than others is so they can catch fresh water fish more efficiently. Plus, when they snap their jaws when biting, the snap of their jaws are quite loud. But thats from seeing Australian fresh water crocs, but still, you DON'T want to get bit by these guys!
M. Oracle lol. don't worry. Johnson's crocodiles only eat fish, reptiles and small mammals (like possums, bats and rodents) And at this size definitely not a cat.
It's cool how you have them as pets but you definately need to give them a bigger pool to swim in or a pond built in your backyard. They were not created to live in the inside or to swim in tiny pools or bathtubs just saying.
Their is a clear difference between animals like the Saltwater crocodile and the American Alligator that are dangerous animals and a harmless Freshwater crocodile in somebodies house. "Associating humans with food" is more of a problem with dangerous crocodilians, and it certainly wouldn't be a problem if the crocodilian is a pet as long as the owner knows how to properly handle them.
She didn't choose to have them, the oldest one was left at her doorstep. So she just took it in so it won't be killed, she's smart and knows that having them is wrong. So she sacrificed her life and her home and space to give them there best life. Ignorant people man..
Their feet are not meant to walk on a concrete floor, you're damaging the poor reptiles. Maybe you should free them to the wild. I'm just saying that one cannot provide the same environment for them as the wild...
Sarmad Shahid did you just say that their feet are not meant to walk on concrete floor I hope you are not serious they have rough ass feet it's better than being in the wild getting a chunk taken out of them over💀I'm pretty sure they would rather walk on concrete
that really only applies to extremely large Crocodiles...like the ones who can't get out of the water because they would be crushed by their own weight.
Here's a story on how this is so friendly. DISCLAIMER this may not be true. There once was a lady named Vicki she often liked swimming down a river one day she decided to rest on a log but it was a crocodile she then decided to start swimming down stream to try and get away when she was getting chased a baby fell out from behind the mother and fell downstream with her she then decided to take it with her when she got home she put in her bathtub then ran to the grocery store bought some chicken came back and fed it for the next 13 years then that's how the crocodile got tamed. and if you read this far i love u also make sure to check out my friends RUclips channel @Poxi.
Yes Troy, they do walk funny.....it's called the "high walk".......and shows you how prehistoric crocodiles are. And yes, you're right, they also have fairly slender snouts and are mainly fish eaters.......they're called Australian Freshwater Crocodiles !
Hi Vicky, I'm a new subscriber and have already made it a point of watching all of them. Can you make some new videos walking on the street with them and share? I would love to see their behavior when they see strange people but of course within safety measures. I'd love to see them all dressed up I've always loved the crocs but, I'm on New York so I would never get one. If I had the space I'd think about it. Meanwhile you can enjoy all the fun with them for me. Greetings from New York City may the good Lord keep you blessed and your crocs. Happy new year. 🙏❤️💗💓💛💖💞💕💜💙💚💝
Hi Jamila, thank you for your comment/message and thanks for subscribing too. I appreciate it and I hope you enjoy watching my croc videos ! I would love to fulfill your request to make a video of me taking my crocs for a walk on the street etc., however, I am restricted by the wildlife regulations which don't allow me, to take the crocs out in public excepting when I am performing wildlife demonstrations. But I will endeavor to make a couple of new videos to post on here, hopefully in the very near future. And yes, I will continue to enjoy my crocs for you too :) Thank you for your greetings from New York City and here's sending Greetings from Australia and may the Lord bless you too, mate ! Happy New Year for 2018 !! :) :) :)
Thank you for your comment Lezo. I've had these 2 Crocs for a long time......the oldest one (22 yrs old) was given to me anonymously and the younger one (11 yrs old) was given to me when he was 2 yrs old and the owner could no longer care for him. Mine are definitely not for sale & nor do they make good pets unless you have a lot of time to dedicate and commit yourself to caring for them......for all your life. They are also specialist animals to care for, not to mention very costly too :)
Thank you for your comment.....I reckon they're pretty awesome too. As for having them as pets, they're not easy to keep and are specialist animals to care for......and very costly as well :)
The younger male is still learning to share my home with me......he is a male and thinks he is boss......but then he is a crocodile......lol......However, the older female (who is nearly 23 years old now) is more like a pet than the male. I've had her since a hatchling and when she was about 5 years old she became very sick, due to our water supply being contaminated with toxic blue green algae, at the time.......but took me 3 to 4 years to discover the cause. Anyway, Johnie (the female croc) was my only croc for 13 years and she began to bond with me when she got really sick......in other words she came to me for help.....she was unbelievably well behaved when I took her to the local vet for blood tests etc......never once tried to bite......I believe she knew I was trying to help her. She'd follow me around the house, sleep with me at night on my bed etc etc.......and still does occasionally :)
hahaha I understand , I have got a dog who thinks he is the leader of the pack.. He is so bossy but very cute.. In this video I saw first time that you can pet crocodiles..It always wonders me how they are able to connect with us all of animal kind.. People also have pet bears can you believe that.. how sweet it is that she came for you to help ... sending loads of love !! and wishes of good health for them!!
Thank you for your reply, Aashay.....and yes, there are a few of us out there in the world who have exotic animals as pets ! I believe you can connect with any animal if you treat the animal with love and kindness, proper care and respect, and an understanding of the behaviour of the animal in the wild. My Crocs were raised from hatchlings in captivity and I simply treat them as if they were a domestic pet, instead of locking them up in a cage as just an exhibit. Unfortunately, my crocs (like any exotic animal raised in captivity) would never survive if released in the wild, so i try to give them the best home I can in captivity. Crocs are also very intelligent animals ! Anyway, thank you for your loads of love and wishes of good health for my crocs......it is very much appreciated. And likewise, sending you loads of love and best wishes from the Crocs and I :)

serious question about your setups as I wanna keep my boy as a adult not have to give him up. obviously there not walking free indoors 24/7 so what is there home tank/pond setup? sorry for bugging you about a old video I'm just a monster aquarium/reptile keeper :-)
nathan hawkey G'Day Nathan, I have a 6 ft diameter poly tank in my lounge room with heated & filtered water. The room itself is also heated to 27 to 30 degrees Celsius. My Salty has outgrown her fibreglass pool which is 8 ft long & 5 ft width & approx 3 ft depth & is being moved into her new enclosure with a larger concrete pool built for her. Consequently, my 2 Freshys will be moved into the fibreglass pool. My lounge room also contains my pythons in their enclosures too. Crocs can climb very well so they just climb up the steps (I have provided made out of milk crates & rocks) & into the pool without a problem. It's a pretty shitty set up but it works. The poly tank is made out of poly ethylene (used to store food/water for human consumption) & therefore non toxic to the crocs. Hope that helps you a bit & no probs helping out a fellow croc lover :)
No Jayden, the crocs won't try and kill my cats......these Freshwater crocs don't grow all that big and only eat quite small prey such as fish, insects, small birds and mammals like mice. So, my cats are very safe !!

Vicki Lowing it's not their first choice of food, but yes they do, I've seen it in person, bit thru the shell like slicing butter.
She's saying *her* crocodiles have never eaten the turtles. Obviously wild ones would, but hers don't.
That was a response to Black Widow's comment.
***** I get it, but I wouldn't ever risk it...I love turtles!
Freshies are like small handraised gators. Both are pretty chill.
IF you can actually 'handle/pet' them, can we see that happening in a clip? Thanks.
Check out my Channel & you'll see some videos of me handling them :)

This is "handling" them?
+Alexia Mobley
Umm, that's a saltwater crocodile with a different name. Completely different croc.
You would almost think that these were large lizards when they are walking. It would be pretty cool to have freshwater crocodiles as pets
Beautiful thanks for sharing!! ☺💕👍
Thank you for your nice comment !
The Freshies really are beautiful. Many thousands a year swimming in the Katherine Gorge have no idea they are swimming with hundreds of these little guys.
haha omg just hops in the tub.one of the fiersest Predators in the world is just cruzing around your House. And Sid i see a cat.Has he Ever tried eating the cat.or then cat stay far away from him.Hes beatiful the markings and his color
No, they won't eat the cats & the older croc has learned to live with the cats. The younger croc, however, tends to chase the cats....but he's a male & territorial & protective of the female croc.
Haha they can't catch the cats..cats are too smart and quick!
+john harris -seconds later- Where is the cat? v:
Linnipinne01 salty
Linniepinne01 well I've studied them, raised them, kept them for years, and while this ladies methods aren't particularly normal, she's in no danger of being eaten, and I assure you these animals do not attack without warning, only someone who hasn't studied them would make such an ill advised claim.
I heard that Freshies can be a lot more docile than other sub-species. They certainly look happy to do their own thing here :)
I just have some questions:
1. Did you decide that you should be on this show?
2. Did you later think this show you were on further give crocs the reputations of man eaters?
3. What got you started with crocs?
+Adam Whitehead
Hi Adam,
No, I agreed to be filmed for this show, when asked by a producer from Animal Planet.
+Vicki Lowing great response! One day I plan on getting a dwarf caiman.
Also, what did you think of animal planet back then compared to today?
Thank you !
To be honest, I don't get to watch Animal Planet as I don't get the channel it's on......can't afford pay tv
+Vicki Lowing how can she afford pay tv when she feeds these girls lol? You know what, the pay tv subscribers miss out. The real show is your life! Good for you my dear!
Thank you Ricky Bachman !
Thanks for your comment Gaussman1......and well stated too !
Amazing @Vicki!
Thank you :)
LOL imagine you woke up with the two freshwater crocs staring at you xD
I have woken up with Johnie (the older croc) on top of me & staring at me, aye...... !!
You can swim in rivers with these, they won’t bother you, not like their giant estuarine relatives.
2:22 Kitty cat want no part of the shenanigans lol
Girl your crazy lol but they are beautiful
Thank you for your nice comment !
Those are the cutest doggos I ever seen
i feel bad for the person who tries to rob the house
At the start they’re like:*”Walking Around Time!”*
Beautiful creatures, are they American crocodiles?
No, they're not American crocs....they are Australian crocs
You are deranged they are NOT beautiful
tommy t they are beautiful
snaker gaming you fucking mad max mate
snaker gaming there jaws plus teeth are fucking ugly lmfao NOT beautiful
It's interesting how intelligent they are...to know their way around the house and into the bathtub.
Yes, crocs are very intelligent which i learned many years ago just from observing my crocs and their behaviour in my home !
Ummmmmm.... I’ll stick to my poodles.
Crocodile walks around like he runs shit at the house 😄
This is so fucked up.
I found my alter family!
We have/had all sorts of exotic(scaly, venomous, giant) angimal babies.
That cat will get eaten sooner or later.
M. Oracle lol. don't worry. Johnson's crocodiles only eat fish, reptiles and small mammals (like possums, bats and rodents) And at this size definitely not a cat.
All Things Wildlife *Opossum. Also opossums are about the size of a cat...
coolio diablo Actually Possum is right Opossum is for American Possums
hey coolio, please don't try correcting people when you don't even know the difference between a Possum and a Opossum :)
You mean, sooner than later
Great video of crocodiles in water.
It's cool how you have them as pets but you definately need to give them a bigger pool to swim in or a pond built in your backyard. They were not created to live in the inside or to swim in tiny pools or bathtubs just saying.
Yes, you are correct in what you say & I do have a much bigger pool for my crocs !
I don't know how crazy I am, but every animal I see as a pet on RUclips, I instantly want one.
These animals shouldn't be as pet or in the home. She's feeding them is a bad idea. They will associate human and food.
The way they walk with their legs under their bodies as opposed to sprawled out(such as when they’re sitting) is EXACTLY like a dinosaur.
I know......even after 28 years of keeping crocs I'm still fascinated in watching them walk :)
one day that will be my household 😊😍😍
“My lord, is that legal?”
@@jedivenomsnake9487 In England just need a DWA certificate and away u go 😊
Ok. And remember that quote from Star Wars the phantom menace? Lol
Johnie and Fovian are both beautiful to look at
Thank you for your lovely comment !
They should be in the wild. Are you a nut that fell off the tree.. 😲
They are born in captivity they will not survive in the wild
She didn't choose to have them, the oldest one was left at her doorstep. So she just took it in so it won't be killed, she's smart and knows that having them is wrong. So she sacrificed her life and her home and space to give them there best life. Ignorant people man..
These crocodiles act like they are in crocodile HEAVEN!
LOL......I do try & give them the best care I can (in a domestic situation) as they wouldn't survive in the wild :)
And I’m pretty sure out in the wild they would still be walking hard ground to go from one water hole to another
If they've been in captivity for so long they won't be able to survive in the wild.
Well these won’t but I’m talking about all crocs
Ha! You definitely get the award for coolest pets!! 😎
Well, Thank You very much !! :)
They r not pets more like intruders dam imposters. Pets my footh den why you no play with them
so nice of you to feed them
They look so cool when they walk around.
Thank you......they almost look like dinosaurs.....they're amazing to watch !!
They're both so cute.
Nice to see alligators in their native environment
Here's a story on how this is so friendly. DISCLAIMER this may not be true.
There once was a lady named Vicki she often liked swimming down a river one day she decided to rest on a log but it was a crocodile she then decided to start swimming down stream to try and get away when she was getting chased a baby fell out from behind the mother and fell downstream with her she then decided to take it with her when she got home she put in her bathtub then ran to the grocery store bought some chicken came back and fed it for the next 13 years then that's how the crocodile got tamed. and if you read this far i love u also make sure to check out my friends RUclips channel @Poxi.
would probably be a good investment to get a backyard pond for your crocs
That walk funny and tall lol in a cute way and weird way
Also these are the ones that fish and things right they have slime noses
And yes, I will continue to enjoy my crocs for you too :)
Thank you for your greetings from New York City and here's sending Greetings from Australia and may the Lord bless you too, mate ! Happy New Year for 2018 !! :) :) :)
This mad lad got dinosaurs in his house
How cute. I love them. Where did you get them?
Can i buy them? i have a big yard with a big pond.
Please tell me where i can buy them X
Thank you for your comment Lezo. I've had these 2 Crocs for a long time......the oldest one (22 yrs old) was given to me anonymously and the younger one (11 yrs old) was given to me when he was 2 yrs old and the owner could no longer care for him. Mine are definitely not for sale & nor do they make good pets unless you have a lot of time to dedicate and commit yourself to caring for them......for all your life. They are also specialist animals to care for, not to mention very costly too :)
People tell me up here in Vermont..."don't feed the squirrels they carry diseases!" Um, at least its not one of these!
are these some kind of emydura turtles. no problems with the crocos?
wow they are so so cute and awesome!! I wish I have some pet crocodiles one day!
Thank you for your comment.....I reckon they're pretty awesome too. As for having them as pets, they're not easy to keep and are specialist animals to care for......and very costly as well :)
do you show affection towards you like dogs do or they are different ? how are they like, some stories would be awesome!!
Could I bring my children and visit I'm in Brisbane. Would love to learn how to raise a freshie.
Yes chango babalu, you're welcome to come and visit anytime. I'm in Melbourne, so next time you're down, give me a all. Perhaps friend me on facebook for contact details :)
Gotta love that ,. I've got an alagator named " Ollie".... At one of my job sites..
Thanks skosankje, for your comment ! I watched your video with Ollie.....he/she's beautiful !!
serious question about your setups as I wanna keep my boy as a adult not have to give him up.
obviously there not walking free indoors 24/7 so what is there home tank/pond setup?
sorry for bugging you about a old video I'm just a monster aquarium/reptile keeper :-)
nathan hawkey G'Day Nathan, I have a 6 ft diameter poly tank in my lounge room with heated & filtered water.
Will the crocs try to kill the 🐈
No Jayden, the crocs won't try and kill my cats......these Freshwater crocs don't grow all that big and only eat quite small prey such as fish, insects, small birds and mammals like mice. So, my cats are very safe !!
Man oh man! I love this video yet again who would have 2 pet alligators I think that is so crazy but it’s awesome to see people actually caring for these wild reptiles. Have fun but be careful👍🏻😬
Thank you christian crawford, for your nice comment......I appreciate it heaps, especially after reading the negative ones. I'll just say they're not alligators, but Australian Freshwater crocodiles :)
Vicki Lowing you are very welcome! And sorry for the confusion i always mix up crocodiles and alligators.
Thanks for reply Christian......and no need to apologize about confusing crocs with gators, but thanks anyway :)
I see that their house cat has got enough sense to stay way the hell out of the way of those two monsters 😎
Over my life ive had several reptiles snakes and turtles, they are pretty easy to tame, especially if u raised them from babies...
You, my friend, are one cool person
Well thank you very much for the compliment, my friend.....it's very much appreciated :)
Is that the biggest they get or can they grow to a bigger size?
Do u have a little pond outside for them? This is so interesting!
Yes, I do have a pond outside for them in the summer. And thanks for your comment.....I'm glad you find my video interesting :)
Natural selection at its finest.
Aaaaaa freaken johnny at it again!
