Everyone here is talking about Eamonn Walker as the Wolf. Notice the two guitar players sitting down behind him..... The man to the left wearing a hat is the REAL Hubert Sumlin. That is the Wolfs actual lead guitarist who wrote, played, and recorded the music for this song and many others for Mr. Burnett. Muddy and Wolf almost came to a killing over Mr. Sumlin when Muddy attempted stealing him from Wolf.

    • @douglascoe1385

Hubert Sumlin was/is one of the all time great guitar players/songwriters of Urban Blues. But let's not make the mistake of thinking he wrote this song. Chester Burnett wrote this years before Sumlin joined his band and even recorded versions of it before the iconic version heard here. And believe me, they are all smokin'. Sumlin was the most in demand lead guitarist in Chicago from 1953 until Buddy Guy broke out in late 1957. At that time Sumlin, Guy. Magic Sam and Otis Rush were largely considered the guitar gods of Chicago and urban blues.

Stfu, real blues guys didn’t need a debt repayed for their troubles and sorrows, that’s what brought in the bucks. The people going around saying shit like we have a debt to repay blacks are fuckin retarded. If everyone in society had to answer for the countless atrocities committed throughout history, the world as we know it would not exist. Howlin wolf died in 1976 and it was his struggle that bred the greatness. Glad he doesn’t have to see everyone walkin around talkin bout nuthin these days.

Spending more time destroying careers via a keyboard on Twitter than actually living life and finding out what they love. People have become professionals at telling others what they can't love.

@Bobby Whitaker Wolf's mother lived in Clarksdale, and Wolf used to travel through there often. He and his mother had a really tense relationship. She was a religious fanatic and thought he was playing the devil's music. But she was at times proud of him, too, because he was a great musician. It was quite odd because she was quite odd.

Also Howlin' Wolf was even bigger, at least 6'3" (though google has him at 6'6" sometimes) and claimed to be "three hundred pounds of muscle and man".

Very few singers have or had that,...that..,uh, .....gravitus. That weightiness in their singing. Few have even come close. WOLF!!! Howlin' MF Wolf is one for the ages. I enjoyed how he put some knowledge on Muddy, when it came to being financially free from debt and borrowing. 'Aint you tired of going to your daddy for money"!!! Classic movie line.
