No freaking way!!! I have been on R/C cars for 23 years and this is the first time I am seeing a woman with a RC channel and I am smiling and tripping. I just can't believe it. So freaking cool!! Yesssssss.
The amount of cleaning you did stressed me out. When I clean I just use dish soap and a brush. Then I have a leaf blower to get all the water out and store it upside down to drain. My xmaxx is 3 years old and It will never look brand new haha.
Love the video! Welcome to big RC. Recently acquired the XRT, the X-Maxx's brother, as my first model. After watching plenty of videos about the XRT, I jumped in with both feet. I got the 6700 charger completer pack as well. The people at Traxxas are very nice. I haven't has any issues but one- this may be common? Definitely caused issues with the speed control. When the batteries get to the shut down voltage, first level safety feature, AND the thermal limit is reached at the same time, the speed control gets "confused" and it remembers its confused the next time fresh batteries are hooked up. After going through all the set up procedures for the speed control, its normally done at the factory, it was back to normal. It essentially had to be re-initiated and paired to correct the problem. I thought I was looking at getting a new speed control, so going over the procedure for a new speed control was a last ditch effort. Glad I did. {go through all the settings} One tip for you, some do it some don't, it's your choice, but, covering the vent holes on the inside of the wheels helped me out. Some do, some don't, but it keeps water and dirt from getting inside the foams, to keep the tire/wheel assemblies more balanced. A small piece of black tape over the holes, 2 per wheel, works just fine. It actually helped in another way too. It keeps the air pressure in the tires since they are sealed to the wheels, which helps prevent leaning in hard cornering and landings. I mention this since the X-MAXX has bigger tires and the effect would be more pronounced. Just a tip from a newbie, and again, welcome to big RC. PS- running into yourself with your own truck, is easier than it seems. :}
Nice bike on the wall. I have the Xmaxx put in the Hobbywing max 6 and 1100 kv motor with one piece aluminum motor mount. The hubs are still plastic but are upgraded with bigger bearings. It’s great how durable it is.
Thanks for the review! Is really interesting to see what traxxas is coming up with for an additional $500 Literally just bought an X-Maxx a week ago before this was even available !!! Happy with spending just $999 dollars. Upgrading the original 2085 with just the metal gears and bigger rear hub carriers with thicker hinge pins and maybe a alu rear diff case cover seems to be way to go. All this additional metal will make the car heavier. The Xmaxx seems also move a bit better in mid air with the original tyres. They do ballon a bit so that’s also an upgrade worth considering. Will be really interesting to see how this ultimate version compares with the current standard xmaxx long term.
Finally got an X-Maxx yesterday. It's so awesome! Heading into my 60s in a few months an I still enjoy the RC scene! Thanx for the awesome tips! Your channel rocks!
I was just told about this today. One shop won't stock (waay too many problems i was told)it but will reluctantly order it for you and the other will order it straight away for you.I really like this over the regular one It has all the upgraded parts(with added weight) that i would put on it anyway.
Your enthusiasm has encouraged and motivated me to purchase my first RC car. I found the last green X-MAXX Ultimate available in my area. Expensive, but definitely worth it! THANKS!!
I am so glad to see you finally move in to bashing Hailey. you could not have got a better truck. Now as you being a beginner. as i been running r/c for way to long. the only difference between me and you for bashing, you were not going hard enough and crashing enough. take you inner anger out on it. throttled it. jump fly flip crash smash and get it back on it's wheels. Now you need the xrt. you will never want to go slow again. you now will have the need for speed. I have the very first 8s x Maxxx that first came out. i added a lot of alloy on it. Befor my wife passed in Nov 22, she loved running it all around. but her faves were the scx 24 the trx 4 and the rrx 6. now most are all shelf queens and floor huggers. She also enjoyed the tetons. Now all we do is sit take up empty space an go no where any more. oh well. life sucks Hailey. but bashing is a great deal of fun. Bash hard and Bash on. the need for speed is powerful. .
Congrats on the new rig! Looked like you had a blast with it. I have wanted to try the xmaxx for a long time… might have to go check if there are are any good deals on a used one. 🤔
Mine didnt come with a pinion gear, has this happened to anyone else? Ive looked over everything & i do not see "an included pinion gear". Glad to see you get into bashing. I have one the original 6s Xmaxx's from many years ago. I also have an XRT. Remember, link up your phone to your Xmaxx Ultimate, you will get free telemetry such as speed, temp, volts etc, & will also turn on/off the light kit if you ever add one. I add light kits to all my Traxxas RCs.
You really inspired me to get one of these until 12:30... However I am sure the maintenance side of things would be essential if I did actually get one and your maintenance routine is probably the best I have ever seen and makes great sense
In germany just the XMAXX ultimate is 1.699,- € (which is actually round about 1.800,- $) With charger and batteries 2.200,-€ (= 2.400,-$)! But the Traxxas spare parts are cheap and any Traxxas RC Car and especially the XMAXX if stock or tuned or ultimate are so much fun 😃🎉
WOW...... All is great however I have to say I am most impressed with your post run cleaning routine. You are disciplined, care and have a ton of patience. well and maybe a love for cleaning haha. Nice job RC Girl.
Nice cleaning routine. I will do something similar with our Rustler 4x4 VXL Ultimate. However, the chassis plastics of the Rustler are way faster damaged by bashing.
Oh what have I done now? I just bought the same one in green today, delivery by post tomorrow. I am hyped to say the least! Going to be a learning curve after all my crawlers.
yeah i was trying to make it to the mountains for a snow run for this video, but it didn't happen. definitely soon. I want it to pull me on a sled!! haha!
Coolest toy ever, i have this sensation watching the video like if im buying a new truck (real full size truck) and i would not take it off-road out of fear of damaging it LOL, i could not bash it for the first few runs out of fear of scratching it or breaking something, its that nice, and honestly expensive too, great video, loved your experience with this new toy.
Still gotta e600 the body but !!! Freeeeekn AWSOME truck ! How can they improve the king of bashers , but they did ! I own two already , I may sell one and get the ultimate , good info video THANX !
Hi Girl. Instead of a leaf blower to dry your trucks you should buy a motorcycle dryer. They are basically a little blow dryer. They not only have a filter so they can't suck in any debris, but they also blow out warm air to help dry. I bought one for my motorcycle but also use it on my RC's and to clean out my computer tower. Harley Davidson makes one and so do a couple other companies. They are just over $100, but worth it. Take care
Nice truck. If you bash almost everyday (I do sometimes) you want a faster cleaning. I just wash with water and paint it with wd 40. It will prevent rust and soften the plastic and «lube» the bearings. Yes wd 40 is not a lubricant but if you do it almost everyday it will sort of lube it. Fast and cheap cleaning for a basher.
That thing looks almost too pretty to bash . It would make an amazing looking shelf queen . But who could have the willpower not to go out and bash the hell out of it ❤
Btw it's amazing how much those bashers evolved in the last few years. RUclips bashers bullied the manufacturers into stepping their game up it seems lol. So cool that you are bashing now 🎉
Hey Haley! I noticed the absence of short course trucks on your channel....Have you thought of doing a slash build? I came into the hobby recently through the 2wd slash and I'm having a blast with it.

Hopefully traxxas makes an actual new xmaxx soon. This isn't new besides the tires I think. It's just got their own aluminum parts. Hopefully they'll make a slightly bigger xmaxx, or maybe a more powerful one. Or both. Some kind of new giant monster truck is what people want, even if its just a revamped xmaxx. This is a tricked out enthusiasts item. If they took every part on the xmaxx and made it 10% bigger it would be a massive hit.

I haven’t seen anything as of yet. Also, does it come with the steel axles? Please and Thank you in advance. Stay safe and enjoy! 😎👍🏼
