Just getting back to finish watching you two....Jodi you look SO MUCH like my sister I love it!!! You two are so dang fun for me to watch and I don't even knit! I crochet and I just buy store yarn...maybe one day when I grow up (haha) I will buy yarn like you guys do! :)
thanks for the entertainment. Sitting at home recovering or trying to from this winter coughing plague and knitting along with you two! A very nice way to havecompany.
So much glorious Knits and yarn 😄❤️❤️❤️. And yes! The microphone did improve the and and quality of sound for me! Your ou es were always so pleasant to listen to, but now sound really lovely. Thanks for the cheerful visit!
i loved watching your videos and im still watching older ones. i was so excited when i got the notification that you posed a new. Glad that the two of you had a great christmas and new year. i knit and watch your gals. Two videos a day.
Jodi - I had pain exactly like that too and after years my hand finally wouldn't open without pain, turned out I had de Quervain's Tenosynovitis in my hand from knitting and crocheting and holding my hand in a more closed position for hours at a time. Mine was so bad because I didn't get help soon enough. It's fixable though, through my hand doctor I had a little PT and a brace to wear to bed when it's bothering me. This has helped so much! Good luck & get well :)
I love Berrocco Ultra Alpaca yarn. I knit a tunic vest with it that is not really flattering on me so I am going to frog it so that the beautiful yarn won't go to waste. I have only been knitting a year and don't have much of a stash so this will be going in my stash until I find a good project for it. I was so happy to see that you guys were back from your break today. I am glad you had a good holiday.
Jodie! I have ulnar nerve pain and damage from too much knitting! I am currently going to physical therapy and they said the best thing to do is stop knitting for a while as nerve pain/damage takes so long to heal. It’s killing me not to knit so I feel your pain literally! Love you ladies so much!!
I just finished your podcast and when you got to Jeff and his tooth...give him a hug for me. I know exactly what he went through!! Several years ago I cracked my back tooth on the top and it took my female dentist 2 hours of tugging on my tooth. She was literally standing on the chair I was in straddling me and pulling down. She had to take breaks too, she was breaking a sweat. The reason mine was so bad is because the root of the tooth was in my sinus cavity. It took 3 weeks for the hole in my head lol to close, I could literally breathe through the hole. My nieces and sons loved it because I could do a perfect Donal Duck impersonation. Hope he is healing up quickly!! Love you girls!
Oh my word. Poor hubby with his tooth. I know just how he feels. I almost passed out when a dentist tried to pull a tooth once. The pulling went on and on and on. I hate the dentist now, it scares me so much. Great podcast girls, I heard you great lol. Thank you xxx
Jody, about your pain; I strained my wrist last month with knitting. It forced me to try Continental technique. I love it! Purling is the best. Now I go back and forth with techniques to ease the strain of a constant movement. Nice podcast ladies! As always.
I LOVE y'alls podcast. I always get so much knitting done while I watch. You always give such good project ideas and I just love the Montrealer you shared during this episode. I will be definitely knitting this one but have another cardigan ahead of it in the queue. I love how positive y'all are! BTW I'm so intimidated to start a pair of socks but you keep encouraging me. Keep it up!
Hello ladies, I have been binge-watching your older videos. I have a very busy December 3rd is Anv. 5th is my birthday, 6th is birthday, 18th is birthday, 20th is birthday, 21st is my Anv., 23 is anv., 27th is birthday and 30th is birthday. So I get what you are talking about a stressed month. I started crocheting in 2011 and I just started knitting in 2018. You are my knitting group & crochet as well. I'm knitting my 1st sock watching you. I wish my family liked to wear and love to get what I make them. I wish they asked me to make them things. I love to see what you are making and I love sock talk!! I looked for the give away for the yarn membership but did not find it.
Happy New Year! Gorgeous knits, as usual ❤ I guess the sound issues WERE a real problem, since so many people are thanking you for fixing it. Thank you for that, & for your wonderful videos, they're always a treat
Happy New Year to you both! The sound is much better with the microphone! I love all of the beautiful acquisitions and projects. You were both very busy!
Happy New Year!! Love all your FOs and New yarns 💕 Sound is fantastic!!! Can sympathise with the tooth pulling, had same situation last October when the tooth broke up during the extraction, took 40 minutes and Dentist commented that he'd had a good workout!! Worst pain ever afterwards and the gum has only just healed up fully!
Two minutes into your podcast and I’m nodding along - so agree about ‘goals and make nine’! Not for me, but no judgement on others, its just me, I’m all over the place when it comes to deciding what to knit from one minute to the next! Love you girls ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for getting a new microphone! I almost stopped watching you because it was so hard to hear you. I'm so glad to know that I wasn't the only one who couldn't hear you before. Thank you, thank you!!
Hey Happy New Year to you two! and as a beginning knitter I want to thank you for the information you include for those of us just joining this fun party! When I hear podcasters say "oh you can knit this in a week" or "in an evening" I wish I could interrupt and ask for a real timeline, for we newbies. So thanks!!!
Happy New Year! You girls are a blast...Jodi, after years as a floral designer and maker, I learned that munching pumpkin seeds each day reduces inflammation. Also, my daughter's athletic trainers keep pickle juice available (to drink) to combat muscle cramps. Hope this helps!
I just ran across you two the other day, evidently I've caught a few of your vlogs in the past while bingeing knit videos to keep my crafting mood moving along. You two ladies are so FUN! I'm probably a touch older, (I'm 49) but You feel like friends, or at least friends I would have had before my back injury anyway. I'm on a pretty tight fixed income so I wont lie watching your acquisitions while It makes me happy for you, leaves me a bit green. The majority of the yarns your showing are crazy expensive especially for those of us single, fixed income people. With that said its great color inspiration for my spinning, which is the only way I can afford to work with quality fibers, I just start with really dirty skanky wool fresh from the farm and do all the work myself, its a very slow process and finding great dye colors is difficult and rather cost prohibitive. Anyway, your fun. You show great patterns and tell great stories.
Jodi, I have arthritis and have the same problem same area, take a break. It will get better. It's from these marathon projects we do. Give it a rest. And YES the microphone solved the problem. You two are the best.
Watched this in the car on the way to do errands and the one thing that made me perk up was hearing "pinkie pie". I looked on etsy for the my little pony yarn and found them, so I'm buying twilight sparkle for my 4 year old and pinkie pie for my almost 2 year old so I can knit them something next year
Happy New Year to you both. Love watching you both!! Jodie, what you described sounds exactly like something I have. It's a condition called De Quervains Tendonitis. It can be treated with physical therapy but if put off too long can cause nerve damage. Please see your doctor. Also, I use ice and Aspercream rub on my hands, no smell and no burning, I just love it. Good luck!!
I CAN HEAR YOU NOW!! LOL! Traci love the shawl for your mom and the finished shawl using mohair...just stunning! I will have to add these to my 2019 yarn basket list. Jodi, I feel your pain. I suffered from elbow tennis that went up to my shoulder in my left arm after knitting for hours & days straight preparing for a craft show a few years ago. I couldn't raise my arm or grasp anything. Doctor put my arm in a sling for 3 days plus a muscle relaxer injection. I used heat and rest for a total of 10 days with occasional tylenol...didn't take the prescribed meds...that's just me. I've learned to take breaks every 2 -3 hours by setting an alarm to rest. It sucks to get old! LOL. BTW I made 3 of your Wavy Legs hat for gifts...they turned out beautiful.
Hello , I am new here! I think I subscribed to a hundred podcasts ( lol) and this is my latest and I like you ladies! I make a comment for the min : 18:27. Yes!! My first project after a 30 year break in knitting baby related simple things, was a hat and it is true that it was rewarding. I made a few hats for others since then and it felt great every time.
Jodie rest up that hand n feel better. Love seeing all your WIP’s - Traci how do you manage to knit so much? Wishing both you lovely ladies every success in 2019!!
While watching #71, I bought, printed, and cast-on Bark Lines. Thanks for the inspiration, and of course, thanks for the podcast. Have a wonderful 2019...from chilly and a little damp NS.
I have been struggling with pain from too much knitting as well. I've cut way back, and sometimes I just focus on sewing or gardening. I hope you feel better soon.
Loved the show...you girls are hilarious!!! Sometimes when I am blue, I'll watch one of your old videos and it perks me right up!!! Love the shawls and other fo's. Happy New Year!!!
I apparently gave myself a frozen shoulder from overuse. I was in agony both with the pain and from not knitting as much. Then I remembered I have a Tens unit and it helps immensely, along with exercises. I bought my Tens unit at Stitches West a couple of years ago, but you can get them at Walgreens, etc. Might be worth a try. So sorry you're in pain Jody!!
I can't wait to see your progress on the Espace Tricot Chalet collection. I'm starting my next cast on... or maybe the next ... or maybe now. I love that collection
I think I just got the same Roving yarn colorway from Michael's (at least it sounds like it from your description)...can't wait to see what you make, we'll compare!!!! :)
I totally agree on knitting a hat as your first project. My first completely project was a 2x2 ribbed hat. Then I made another for my husband. Then I started a matching scarf to go with my first hat...almost 2 years later I am still working on that scarf...sort of.
I would love to win that year subscription. I'm a newish knitter and just ordered my first good yarn and got it yesterday! What a huge difference from the box store yarn I've been using.
Sitting here knitting on my Stonham Poncho from Espace Tricot, and you feature it on your podcast! I always enjoy you so much. Jodi, I had to wear a rigid thumb brace for a time; but, I even learned to knit with that on. :)
Jodi, I too had a sore left wrist and thumb. I think I was just trying to get baby gifts done ( Shower was just after new year) I went into my LYS and the owner recommended a craft glove. She said to sleep in it and see how long I could wear it during the day. I cut back radically on my knitting and wear it when I knit. It was remarkable how much it helped. I guess when you love to knit we overdo it at gift giving time! Hope you feel better soon!
I just finished a Turtle Dove in Drops Air. The blow construction of the yarn is similar to Luft and it's so soft! The sweater turned out great for $40 CAD ($8 a ball)
My youngest daughter's birthday is also the 27th of December! We have her birthday then but we also have a half birthday for her on June 27th. She loves it because it gives her a day away from the Christmas hustle just to celebrate her!
Yes! I'm also a December baby who celebrates on my half birthday, and I think it's really nice to have the space between birthday celebration and Christmas :)
I knit a Turtle Dove after Christmas in five days. My first sweater for me! It was so fun to hibernate and knit. :) I’m dying to make the Joji pattern!!!
Jodi I had the same issue last year and finally went to PT, it was amazing. It has been just over a year but I am back to knitting pain free! You really need to go to PT.
I love Berroco Ultra Alpaca! I knit one of my very first sweaters with it, a Beacon Hill by Jane Richmond, in a lovely heathered green colour. I loved it, except half way through I realized it would be the perfect sweater for my aunt, as a thank you for making mine and my husband's wedding rings. Since we're about the same size anyway, off it went to her!
Happy New Year!! Always love watching you guys! Already can’t wait for the next episode ❤️ I try to make a few new resolutions but don’t hate myself if I don’t make it 💁🏻♀️
Could you tell me where to get the for the triangle shawl pattern? Also exactly what is the yarn and where can I buy it. You said sweet moreno light. Where can I find this yarn and the pattern? Thanks
Happy New year ladies! So glad that you had a god holiday. As someone with a birthday on December 26th I am sure your mom would appreciate a little more attention BUT I also don't think that you're bad daughters (and I am sure you're mom doesn't think that either).
I treated myself to a Fringe Town Bag for my birthday (which was 3 days after Christmas, so I'm one of those people!) and it's perfectly sweater sized!
Hi I’m Jacqui from Australia just came across your channel loving every minute of it trying to catch up from the beginning. Poor Jodie I feel for you I had the same thing happen to me with my arm it was tennis elbow couldn’t knit for 3 months I ended up having to have steroids injection. Best to get on to it now I found heat rubs & massage really helped. Rest rest rest ❤️❤️❤️
For knitting wear and tear on the hands - I use an ice pack when I start to feel anything "off" in my hands. I have large-ish soft ice packs (like the size for the back), I fold it around my hand, and then press a little body weight until I can't stand the freeze burn. Do it several times a day, and bam!, good to go.
Love your podcast Happy New Year. OMG the dentist story ! I had a tooth out on the 19Th Dec much the same I had cracked it I had sedation to have mine out which you are not aware of anything being done you do feel a bit groggy for a day or so but there is no way I could have teeth pulled without the sedation. Hope your hand/arm gets better soon Jodie enjoy your holiday. X
Tracie! I'm so thrilled to hear that you are knitting me a hat!! (Remember you said you'd be happy to knit ANYBODY a hat?) LOL I have a kind of big head, so keep that in mind, and I love purple. What's up with 15 people giving you all a thumbs down? If they don't like you, why don't they just go away??? Oh well, good to see you girls again! I'm trying to crochet a speedy sweater... I knew I'd not make it knitting, I'm way too slow. But this is my first time making a sweater, and using bulky yarn. so we'll see... I recently had a tooth pulled, and about half of it had fallen out already so I didn't expect it to take so long. It was carefully numbed, so it didn't hurt, but the stress of all that yanking nearly drove me nuts. And I have a very strong gag reflex too. And this time my face was sore for days! Hope I don't have to have that done again! Give Jeff my sympathy please!
another really good easy sweater pattern is the Weekender. IT is by far one of my favorite sweaters. the only hard part is picking up stitches for the sleeves (bc the picking up stitches not he purl side is a bit fussy), But you could knit the sleeves separate and seem them in if wanted to.
Girlsss This episode is literally yarnporn mouahahahahaha I love u so much !!!! I wish you all the best for you and your family and send you lot's of love from France !!!! Baisers Audrey
Tracie, the movie was 2001: A Space Odyssey! Not 2020.... and that’s even worse! 🤣🤣🤣 Happy New Year. I love you guys so much, you take away the loneliness of an empty house after the kids go back after the holidays 😢 I just wish your podcast was more frequent !
I love the Patiki cowel and hat set! The Ravelry page says she used infinite twist DK yarn. Do you think using worsted weight yarn for the hat is possible with this pattern? Sometimes the fair isle repeat doesn’t allow for much variance to compensate going from DK to worsted weight. Any advice? Thx! (Great news - I managed to snatch some of the gorgeous “pinkie pie” lurex sparkle yarn from her Etsy site, she said the supply is dwindling rather quickly!)
Tracie no socks with the La Bien Aimee. It needs to be used for something that everyone can see the gorgeous yarn. You two are so funny. Happy New Year!! Jodi rest your hands and arms. My hands are suffering right now too. You both must knit like lightening with as much as you get done. Everything is beautiful. Read in Mexico!!! Nap in Mexico!!! Drink in Mexico!!! 😂😂😂
Love your podcast! I just saw a Purl Soho pattern for a beautiful gradient blanket. It would be amazing for your yarn gifts. It’s called the mitered corner blanket.
Sorry depends on if tooth is fused to bone even if sectioned it could take awhile. Jodi love the color of your hat and Happy New year to you both. Sound is great 👍👍👍
Just getting back to finish watching you two....Jodi you look SO MUCH like my sister I love it!!! You two are so dang fun for me to watch and I don't even knit! I crochet and I just buy store yarn...maybe one day when I grow up (haha) I will buy yarn like you guys do! :)

You two make me so very happy!
I feel you, Jodi. I gave myself tennis elbow with all my Christmas knitting this year.
So much glorious Knits and yarn 😄❤️❤️❤️. And yes! The microphone did improve the and and quality of sound for me! Your ou es were always so pleasant to listen to, but now sound really lovely. Thanks for the cheerful visit!
I want to knit Mountain Mist in EXACTLY your colours Tracie!! its my favourite in the book and your colours are STUNNING!

You ladies are so inspiring.....thank you for another great podcast....❤️
I was home and watched all of my yarny friends podcasts. Had a blast while knitting and crocheting.
Happy New Year! Most excellent sound!!!

Yay!!! This episode sounds so much better with the mic!!! 😍😍😍 I’m knitting that cowl, ASAP!!!

You're coming over loud and clear to me in dear old Blighty...Happy New Year xxx
As always.

Happy New Year! Gorgeous knits, as usual ❤ I guess the sound issues WERE a real problem, since so many people are thanking you for fixing it. Thank you for that, & for your wonderful videos, they're always a treat

Yay - only watched the first minute but I can hear you really well!!! No external speaker needed. So happy!
Too funny. My husband was in the other room and said. YES we can here you.
Thank you so much for getting a new microphone! I almost stopped watching you because it was so hard to hear you. I'm so glad to know that I wasn't the only one who couldn't hear you before. Thank you, thank you!!
My 4 year old just looked in at iPad and ask who you were. “Grocery Girls?” He looks again. “I don’t see groceries, just yarn.”
😂😂😘
🤣
The sound was perfect!!! Love, love your podcasts!!!!

So much fun, thank you! Also, the sound is perfect now!
Strange Brew is wonderful and an essential for any knitter’s library!!!!! 🧶🧡👍🏻

I knit a Turtle Dove after Christmas in five days. My first sweater for me! It was so fun to hibernate and knit. :) I’m dying to make the Joji pattern!!!
And Sew On congratulations! The best way to relax for a few days, right?!
Pip & Pin Podcast I love that story! I’m sure she loves that sweater as much as you love your ring. ♥️
Microphone = perfect! Love you two!
Happy New Year!! Always love watching you guys! Already can’t wait for the next episode ❤️
I try to make a few new resolutions but don’t hate myself if I don’t make it 💁🏻♀️
CANNOT WAIT to make Black Cloud - I heard her last journal talking about it and fell in love.
Trish Richman it’s a super relaxing knit! You will love it 🥰
You guys! I freaking love you! 🇨🇦
Yes to the make 9! I feel I could make a new Make 9 collage every day of the year!
Sound check, microphone works......laughing so loud. Happy New Year! from a new subscriber.
another really good easy sweater pattern is the Weekender. IT is by far one of my favorite sweaters. the only hard part is picking up stitches for the sleeves (bc the picking up stitches not he purl side is a bit fussy), But you could knit the sleeves separate and seem them in if wanted to.
Yeah! You are coming in loud and clear! A happy time!
I just moved to a place legitimately 5 minutes from the Hue Loco studio. It's to die for.
Sound is great 👍👍👍
Yes, the mic WORKS! Lol.
My husband and I have January birthdays. We are still eating Christmas cookies and stuff. So Full!!
