I’ve never landed an Airbus in mechanical mode before, when this happens we usually reset some circuit breakers and at least get direct law back… I was indeed pleasantly surprised but the smooth landing I would have been satisfied with a hard but safe landing … 😁✌🏽
Mentour Pilot channel just released a video about this same scenario that didn't end as well for them. They had a slew of other problems and eventually no engines but they landed.

I wasn't expecting a landing that smooth. Looks like the sidestick is now obsolete !
