It's very upsetting. I've found the people I run into at university are often filled with more excuses and sometimes see it as a debate instead of a conversation sadly.

No compassionate god would give an animal a brain and nervous system to feel love, pain, despair, fear etc so selfish people can destroy them and flush them down the toilet. Shame on you.
That's the clear proof than compassionate god doesn't exist, otherwise how could he have created nature with so much predation, animals being torn apart alive. This is also ungodly.

I'm currently eating venison jerky from a buck I took last fall.
So happy to see you take on people who are super indoctrinated in their hunting and in regards to how they attach it to their religious beliefs. These are some of the harder ones to deal with due to how closely people hold these beliefs - especially religious (however none of them can excuse animal abuse).
True, people who justify abuse by religious reasons can be the toughest to talk to. Also they seem to be the least likely to want to be on camera, which is why I dont have many videos with those people. I'm glad Greg was up for a conversation and hopefully he'll reflect on it a little 😃

Family dinners/ gatherings are about people enjoying their company. Food is important but secondary. You can have the same (or in my opinion even better) pleasure eating plant based.
And this person is why I do not use the "moral" argument when speaking up for animals. They always say "well, my morals are different than you morals. You wouldn't understand my morels based on your morals so we all have a right to our own morals" etc. etc. etc. Just substitute the word "morals" for "journey". Instead, I talk from an ethical perspective - i.e. treat others the way you want to be treated. The golden rule does indeed apply to all sentient life - not just to ourselves or to those we deem "worthy". And speaking of religion - virtually every major religion uses the golden rule as their base.

There is no justification for taking someone's life when you can easily choose from thousands of wonderful nutritious delicious healthy foods and no one has to suffer and die because of your food choices.
Using religious beliefs/occasions to murder an animal is unacceptable.

Hats off to him for accepting the conversation and being filmed. Everyone has their own views and as a meat eater (nothing to do with religion) I think more responsibility is needed regarding how careless we are with consumption and you guys could teach us that awareness. And from that yes some people may change their opinion on eating meat. But to some of the comments here some people just have different perspectives and don't feel the same as you do.
Pointing out logical inconsistencies and hypocrisy is not an attack.

One religion confronting another one
Veganism is a philosophy not a religion. There is no deity or list of commandments. Just a goal to reduce harm. Doesn't that sounds like something virtuous and worth striving for?

@@DesertVox It was meant as a comment on the weak argument that since animal X does it, it must be right. You can find animals to make a point for anything; carnivores, herbivores, cannibalism and so on. But as humans we can make our own choices and have the ability to live vegan if we want. Lions may never change, but humans have the ability.

Do I not get to make decisions based on my beliefs, instead of you trying to impose your beliefs on me? My God says certain meats are HALAL for me to eat.

@@DesertVox Most people can probalby agree that capital letters in a internet forum cannot decide if someone has stronger convictions than another. But we can agree that we have different convictions. And yes, religious beliefs is a bigger topic than pretending to have the mind of a lion. But there is some hope too. What we know, animals do not have religion. So you, believing in religion, are not a animal and are should be capable of critical thinking.
