Correction: I retimed the run and the final time is actually 19 seconds and 6 frames, not 3. It doesn't change anything, though, - the mistakes cost much more.

How and why does starting missions from like submissions kill them and how its permanent after saving. (Starting Mike lips in Vigilante)

Those are 2 different (although related) concepts - duping and instapassing. I have a full explanation here - ruclips.net/video/uDIzsT1_9WQ/видео.html
It's a lengthy video, but should be easy to follow. Feel free to ask more questions, though

@@vofelInteresting video I must say, but I'm still unsure how this is correlated, because if I recall correctly, you can Instapass Taxi Driver with Cipriani's Chauffeur and that doesn't kill either script. Maybe something to do with mission_loop script being removed?

@@paIIington oh now I understood your question. You sort of reversed it, I believe you meant "Why do submissions die if you start other missions during them?". The answer is simple - they have a flag that you're on that particular submission. They are called something like "flag_on_vigilante". This one is controlled by Vigilante's mission script. When you start Vigilante the flag is set to 1. When you cancel Vigilante, it's reset back to 0. But if you start some other mission during that, the part that resets the flag isn't going to be executed, because as explained in the linked video you replaced Vigilante's script with a new one. So the flag stays equal to 1. And if it's not 0, you can't start Vigilante again. It is saved, because global script variables are saved. And in GTA III all script variables are global, so they all are saved. We can assume at some point developers had an idea to let players do these side missions during story missions, but later decided against it.
Instapassing Taxi Driver is the other way around - you start the side mission during a mission, so you end up with Taxi Driver's code in the end.
Also sorry for the late answer, for some reason YT didn't like your comment and I had to manually approve it first. Hope it's clear now.

@@vofelThis answer is what I was looking for, thanks. Must of been the "k word" that got it flagged.
Strange that you can break Taxi and Vigilante from just starting those missions in the other vehicle as well. Don't think it's possible with Firefighter and Paramedic.
Also, how do you get those local offset numbers to show, is it an option in visual studio?

@@paIIington I don't think I've ever heard of breaking Taxi Driver or Vigilante by starting them in other vehicles. In fact, Taxi Driver is used to make DP vehicles a lot, if you're into collecting special vehicles. Do you have any examples I can look into?
As for the local offsets - I open these scripts in Notepad++, because they are simple text files. When you decompile main.scm with Sanny Builder, you can only get global offsets. But there's a tool that adds the local offsets based on the global ones. You can find it here under the "General/Tools" section. I believe you just have to drag-and-drop the script onto the exe. The file was shared on the speedrunning Discord server, so you'll have to join that to see the message.
