- I've wanted to trying working with machine-like sounds for so long, and now I finally got my chance to do it!!
Its been really fun playing around with noises and effects to make this one, hole you all enjoy it!

As you crawl through the corpse of the long dead god you stumble into a large open room, you can hear screams in the distance. They are getting louder and louder until they stop. You stand still, cowering in fear. You hear a ping noise and golden eyes light up in the darkness. Whatever had destroyed this iterator hadn’t left and it had found you.
Arbiter then appears holding a blue fruit. They give it to Saint, who happily eats it and leaves.
"Sorry about that, he gets a bit cranky when new people show up around here. But he's actually really nice if you get to know him."
My personal head canon is that, although Saint wasn't SoS' triple affirmative, Saint is related to hers.
The Seer, or as she was known as following SoS' "Ascension," the Oracle.

considering SoS is the reason for both moon and pebbles fate, it only makes sense to have SoS have that motif too

This sounds more like an analog of Random Gods and Reflection of the Moon, but for Sliver of Straw.
What I enjoy the most of this song is how absolutely powerful the Leitmotif sounds. With Moon's theme, it's so quiet, refracted, shining and blinking through many different holes, as though. In Five Pebble's Random Gods, it's also great, but especially at the start of the song is that it has some stubborn stillness before going into everything, and even then it sounds only like an incredible amount of data being processed. This, however, you can hear it scream at the top of it's lungs in some unknown message, singing with almost a perfect clarity. It may not be that of a live iterator. It may not be one that's truly here. But it's still standing in all it's greatness. Please make more music than this. This compares to Metropolis's threat theme, and that's saying aLOT.
Gosh this might be my favorite threat theme. Sundown aside (the easiest way into a rain world player's heart), the beat and buildup is superb. I love everything about this piece, thank you for making it.

The melody has something of retro space sci fi, it's beautiful.
The beat itself borderlines aggro tech and I love it.
What a strange and flavourful combination.
The sundown motif here is amazing. All of Straw’s processors hum in perfect harmony, resonant of the same final thought, the Triple Affirmative having been found.

Thank you so much!! I really think that for Sos the sundown theme would rlly fit since even tho we dont have much information abt her, she is at the literally the base of the rw lore
it sounds more like the "PAD" threat layer for waterfront facility/complex
The sound towards the ending.. it managed to sound a lot like shuddering breaths, and of that description of dying with a great wheeze, it fits.
I also thought I heard the karma sleep sound earlier in the video as well as food pip noises, but I am very tired
A treat to listen to, taking the bits apart and seeing how they each feel is wonderful!

Listened from 2:50 to 3:56 during the totality phase of the eclipse today. It fit SO WELL with my sheer awe. Then the second time, we saw a BAT that came out because it thought it turned to night. And again, it fitted really well. You did an amazing job with this

A dead god, killed by something so...Small, so...Weak. Any form of 'life' or 'will' this thing had disappeared completely yet the overall structure still remains functional, now a steel mountain playing no part in breaking away from the endless cycle; yet you little creature continue to go on with no reward in sight. While it looks as a quiet paradise without predators and infinite food you will find something which will end you... or eventually lose your mind in the endless silence. Take this as your first and last warning to escape while you can.
I’ve never played any rain world mods, besides co op and camera changes, but now I think I’m going to have to play dead lands purely because this song bops.

not really, SoS is more or less something that happens due to the way we make the burnt structure. I just thought it would be fun to make a working version too when we already make her destroyed version

We are going to make Burnt Structure in the Deadlands mod, which is the destroyed Superstructure of SoS. I just thought it would be fun to make a working version of it too that we could use maybe

i wonder if maybe, to reflect the passage of time, in Burnt superstructure it takes the basic concepts of this and makes them quieter and more pathetic, maybe even using things like guitar in place of synth? no matter what, you absolutely cooked with this one!

SUNDOWN MOTIF SPOTTED
Absolutely excellent. Personal opinion: when the Sundown motif comes in, its hitching/cutting in and out detracts from the intensity. I think it'd sound better as a continuous tone.

Once upon a time someone said challenge 70 could be possibly considered a "self-battle" and I somewhat like the idea that saint is the lingering consciousness of SoS, and their final, ultimate work; the culmination of the triple affirmative's research.

The way the synths of the Sundown leitmotif are played is quite reminiscent of the way the synths heard in the Waterfront Complex threat music are played. I think that’s cool.
A sense of unbelonging and urgency to leave.

Since when does Deadlands even includes Sliver of Straw? That definitely wasn't part of the original concept. I have no idea how the development is going.
the burnt structure is part of deadlands, which is SoS. the Song&Story visits her too, most likely in a bit better condition. we also had ideas of a thirdy even earlier slugcat right after her death, in which that version would be used. if that third slugcat gets scrapped in the end ill just make it a standalone thing or something
