Both great companies. Demoed PXG driver, was terrific. Also demoed PXG 0211 ST blade irons, terrific. Made in USA.

Had just went from pxg 0311 to the 425. Pxg is great when you hit it right but i couldnt get it to be consistent
I am so glad you showed the difference in the locations of your stikes on the club face and noted that if the PXG had strike locations closer to the Pong stike locations, that the results would have been closer. That was very informative and honest of you. I got the 0211 last Fall when it was being closed out for $119. USD and am happy with the club, especially at its close out price. I got the 0211 fairways on close out also brand new at $89. USD for each one. And I really like them as well. I hit all of them quite straight.
You should compare it to the PXG 0811. More adjustability with the 0811 and the weights are out at the perimeter for more affect. I just purchased the 0811 and I preferred the sound better than the Ping. Also I preferred the 45" shaft size over the G425 Max at 45.75". I play the Ping G400 irons, 410 3 wood and 425 4H. Price in the USA for the MAx is $499 and the 0811 is $375....That was also a deciding factor for me.....Great review as always, keep up the good work!!

Just got fitted for this driver. To help with low spin it was set to 9.5 degree and 1 degree open...that brought up the spin rate. My swing speed was between 104 and 107. That slight adjustment made a huge difference.

@@drewm1072 Hi Drew, I live in the states...I went to a PXG showroom near Seattle Washington. I got fitted for the Gen 2 0311P irons, forged wedges, a 5 wood and a driver. I am thinking about trying out their 7 wood as well.

@@drewm1072 $50 for the fitting...I originally wanted the 2021 0211 irons. I bought a single 7 iron and they shipped it to me, went to the range and really liked the 0211 irons. However, when I got to the fitting, I was hitting the 0211 7 iron WAY to far and I tended to hit it left of target. The fitter then had me try a couple other irons. We settled on the Gen 2 0311 P irons. If you want a fitting, you should call them and let them know what you are after. I am not 100% sure you can just go try the irons without paying for a fitting. Like I said, I bought a club on line then when I got fitted, I returned that 0211 7 iron and got credit for that club. I have to say, the fitting was SO much fun..and I was beat after SO many swings! But it was SO much fun and you find out a TON about your golf swing! Hope this helps.
Tried the G425 at Penrith Golf Hub today - great driver not longer than my G410 but straighter head to head.
Golf really is highly individualized. For example, I am going to buy the Ping G425 Max because of the turbulators and sound. Love the sound and the Batman look. Simply gorgeous.
Ordered and received 0211 driver , to be honest 10/ 15 yards shorter than my Taylormade M2 2017 model , got an appointment with PXG to check out , great feeling driver so hoping I can get it set properly.
Trick with pxg is to get fitted there. It loses a lot of advantage otherwise.
@@danielpassmore5026 Hi Daniel , I did get fitted . Figures looked good and couldn’t knock fitter but just doesn’t work on course , going to give it another try over winter 👍

It's an easy choice. If the performance of the Ping425 isn't significantly better why pay the extra$140 USD. Buy the PXG and add a hybrid for nearly same cost.
I’m of the same persuasion. The big problem with the PXG driver is you need to commit to the purchase to get a fitting. You can’t try it out along side other drivers and see which you prefer. It’s a bit of a risk going for the PXG but the price is exceptional.
@@Rich-in6ds I just switched to the general driver. The 0211 was senior shaft 12 degree. The gen4 is stiff and 12 degrees. Gen 4 crushing it. Had I done the fitting might have gone directly into gen4.. So, I agree with your comment

Got mine yesterday. In Canada. Payed 350$ including tax and delivery. Second hand pings out here are going for 450$ new 800$. It was a no brainer for me, 350$ PXG brand new .
I own a sim2 max and a pxg 0211 the sim is unreal but the 211 is such an easy driver to hit well

Always thought you'd fit better in a max style head. You've got the speed for LST no doubt but the launch on this is why it's taking your distance up an extra 10 yards. Add a touch of hotmelt for sound and throw that Max in the bag it's a beauty for you.

Interesting comparison, I would like to which shaft you used in which driver not only stiffness. I think shafts have more impact on performance than the head in these days. That is only my own notice.
Well the ping in Canada is like 800$ and I just bought this PXG for 300$ plus 100$ shipping so it was 400$ taxes in
For the average golfer that launch number is a really big deal! Getting the ball airborne will cause distances to be optimized for anybody above a 15 handicap! Hitting the ball higher for the average person opens up a lot more of the golf course
I was thinking the same but wouldn't a higher loft club or even adjusting the shaft to a higher loft help? I'm really liking the pxg (sound and difference in price) but the launch and spin is definitely a concern...
had the ping and sold it, it just never felt solid to me although the drives were good. The guy that has it now loves it. The sound is pretty irritating too. I tested a Hogan demo g53 max and that is in my bag now. Similar performance to the ping but the feel is much better for me.
I’ve got the PXG in 10.5 deg. Not convinced yet but I boom a three wood almost as far. Will see how it goes over the winter and if not happy I’ll invest in a mini driver
I,had the Pxg fitted for me but experiencing the same thing in terms of distance. Also the ball seems to drop out of the air more than my previous driver. I am glad he addressed that in this video. Back to the drawing board, definitely not happy so far!
Prople of buy Ping products in general love their sound!

Ordered the 0211 at PXG and tried it out but it didnt work for me. Don't know if i was turned off by the sound. Compared to my old Callaway driver it is dull but also very loud. Just not my thing. Had to sell it.
As you stated, I could easily get used to the sound of the PING but can’t get past the turbulators.🤮 Also wish the face was just a tiny bit shallower - more like their fairways and hybrids. Thanks for another great review.👍🏻

The smash factor seems extremely high on the PXG on mishits

I love my 0211, I had already bought the irons and a driver before the whole set deal came out. I also ended up buying a 3 and 5 wood in the 0211 family. My driver was bought previously it's a 0311X
Shiels was carrying the PXG at 297 yards, and this was his longest of the year!
Shiels dispersion was shocking, literally hitting all over the place.
Yeah with 1600 spin... if you know anything about driver fitting you'd know that drive was never going 297 in the air unless it has INSANELY high launch. MN was hitting proper gaming drives in this review and did the drivers justice.

I don't get this preoccupation with sound. By the time you have walked 320 yards straight down the middle of the fairway it will be all forgotten.

Im a beginner golfer. I was considering getting a slightly used Callaway Mavrik Max Driver. But now I'm considering a PXG 0211 with a fitting. Is that the better way to go?
Get professionally fitted and take in what info they give you.

Price difference between these two is currently £150. I’d prefer the PING but I’m not sure it is worth 60% more.
Ping: An engineering company who happens to make golf clubs.
PXG: Describes all their clubs as "sexy".
That in itself is worth the extra $100.
Interesting. Each head is 206g, so you’d think the shaft would behave the same. Any idea why your strike was so much lower with the PXG?
I "downgraded" from a Sim Max driver and fairway to the PXG 0211 models and I'm quite happy with them.
Surprise is that the PXG was a big hit in the MyGolSpy Driver list for Slow Swing Speed (sub 90mph), your thoughts on that appreciated Micheal as I’m a 90-95mph driver speed so making a shortlist of clubs to test?
I bought G425 irons and was fitted for them and should have them in a wk. Still deciding what driver to get. Would like to stay with PING but there are so many good drivers out there. IMO it maybe a louder sound but really how long does the sound last??
I’ve hit the SIM 2 Max and the PING 425 Max. Liked both but want to hit some of the other brands.

Why not use the PXG 0811 X+ Proto. Probably a more apt comparison as the X+ is the forgiving model and has more adjustability.

FWIW, the PXG model numbers align to Marine Corps "MOS" (MIlitary Occupational Specialty). Their top tier of drivers is 0811 which would be the code for Field Artilleryman. Make sense. Their irons and wedges are 0311 which is Marine Rifleman. You would say them like "Oh-Three-Eleven" or "Oh-Eight-Eleven". For the record, 0211 would be Counter-Intelligent/HUMINT specialist. I guess that makes sense for their lower tier option.
The 0 2 11 is on sale for $119 right now so that swayed me to buy it, do you think that would sway you to buy it?
Just bought it for $162 CAD after tax and shipping. Ping 425 is well over $700 here new. Performance is negligible.
Hi I purchased a PXG 0112 when offer was on in February for £260 the new club arrived yesterday 12/4/21 been to driveing range today very forgiving the driver is set at standard 10.5 regular shaft I was striking the ball well but the ball impact was above centre of sweet spot any advice Mike on fine tuning or do I stick with standard setting

no , if any thing it will increase back spin , that s what the simulator reads try a low spin ball
A heavier weight in the front portal will lower the spin rate.

I just hate the sound of the new PING drivers... your g400 sounds superb. I still have an old i20 and it sounds really nice. The first terrible sounding driver was the g400max. I guess the sound got that bad when they introduced the forged face.... gamed the g410 for one day and sold it on ebay... terrible sounding driver. Still love my Titleist 915D2 xD

have you ever reached 1.5 in smash with a driver? According to Crossfield all drivers performs the same nowadays, except for Cog placement. Whats your view on that as a fitter and tester?
Most modern drivers are maxed and perform very similar. From my experience the difference can be how a player reacts to a certain look, weight, feel and sometimes brand preference. I typically use the moveable weight during a fitting to match a certain strike pattern to help on ball speed and smash.

If your strike was as high on PXG as it was with Ping it would be absolutely equal
Love the performance of the 0211 but the quality is disappointing. Paint started flaking off the sole before I even hit it the first time. PXG denied the warranty claim saying it was "bag chatter". How does one have an issue with bag chatter on a two month old club with maybe six rounds on it. PXG's customer service sucks!
Isn't a driver head head cover supposed to protect from "bag chatter" ?

If the performance is just about identical buy the cheaper one and have some change for another club.
Oh and a comment on sound . My Ping drivers over the years have always sounded like a WHIP CRACK. and the Callaways my friends use sound like Homer Simpsons "DOH"..... when i hear a Callaway i hear Homer.
I tried a PXG that sounded like hitting a hard piece of plastic & felt terrible. I used a PING years ago & liked it quite a bit.

Been playing G400 Max and it goes dead str8 but when i upgraded it to 48 " it not only stayed str8 but I can move it both way now with ease.
Doubt the new 2021 drivers will interest me until the Ping G430 arrives.

Go outside with the Ping.... My G425 Max sounds totally different on course than at my Coaches hitting Bay which is much like yours. I also hear a difference based on what shaft is in it . I play the Aldila Rogue White 130.

I’m using a G20 too, have G700 irons but G20 driver, 3 and 5 woods, only reason I’d change my driver is for a lower loft and like the idea of adjustability.
I have the G20 driver and 5 Wood. Thinking of upgrading this year to second hand G400s. I’d go for the 410 but the shaft adapter changed 410 onward and I’d like to keep my old shafts in use. The 425 is still a bit too pricey for me new.

Absolutely correct....dial the strike pattern of the PXG to match the Ping, and there wouldn't be anything in it. You could say that of almost all modern drivers to be fair.

Just got the 0211 driver, and not happy with it at all. I bought into the hype, and picked it up to replace my Epic Flash. The 0211 does not even come close to the distance or accuracy of my Epic. it was within 30 days, so I was gonna eat the restocking fee. After going to mail it back, it was going to cost me $54 just to ship it back plus the hit from the restocking fee. I told the cashier at the UPS store to just give me a refund, and I will try to sale it myself. Another bogus claim is that the sweet spot is as big as Texas, it's more like the size of Rhode Island, (and that may even be a generous guess). Don't buy into the hype like I did, and stick with the other top brands!!!
I am glad you said something. Buying something sight unseen, fitted or not is a huge risk. Golf is a very personal sport. To be right with it takes a lot of personal experience and practice with the right tools. You don’t know the right tools until it shows up on the scorecard.

I bought a new 0211 driver and it really sucks, My Ping g400 and Callaway Mavrik both are 15 yards longer. The ball feels terrible coming off the face of the PXG.
