In 35 years of doing that ride I've never had a problem with a motor vehicle. I go out of my way not to be a problem for them and I think that is true for nearly all of the bike riders that frequent this route. Drivers seem to recognize that and are on their good behavior. When you climbing at 7 to 10 mph, going around you is no problem. On the downhills most of us are doing 35 to 45 mph with a 35 mph speed limit so we're not holding anyone up. I think it's one of the safest rides in the Prescott area.
Great video, but they all are! Your 150 looks amazing! I saw on another post about avionics and long range tanks. Does your plane sit up higher than usual? Maybe just the camera angle, either way it looks amazing! Look forward to more flying videos, maybe could you do a “walk around” showing the plane in and out and talking about the upgrades? Thanks!
Yes it does have long range tanks (40 gallons) . It needs it. The contential O-200 was replaced with a Lycoming O-320 with a foot more prop. For that reason I keep the nose strut pumped up a little more for prop ground clearance. Part of engine stc is the very large spinner. Those thing added together give it a taller and bigger look than most C150's. It also adds a lot more performance. Thanks for your nice comment.
Sounds great! I didn’t notice until now I wrote the comments while my wife was logged in, sorry didn’t mean to mislead. Anyway, thanks for responding and giving more insight into what must be one of the nicest 150 in the country! With all of your upgrades and the exterior, very nice!
So 3 years have passed. I ride less these days but still active with Bike Prescott. I've looked for you on one of our rides but have not recognizes you. Did you move to Prescott yet? 🚴 Old & slow
YES, here in Prescott! Been riding with the club for two seasons. Just went out to Wilhoit this morning. Windy but a good ride. Will probably be at the Christmas party. Also, will be doing the big Tucson ride later this month. Will probably do tomorrows ride with Ed starting out by Panera. Any rides coming up for you?
Very well done, after watching this video I went and dusted off my my bike and aired up the tires. That's as far as I got. Thanks for the video Mike.
Thanks for the video! Nicely done. Wish there was a wider bike lane to the right of the white stripe. Looks like a very scenic ride.
