I just discovered and purchased Stepic yesterday evening, and it was hard for me going to sleep... the tool is so intuitive... in a few clicks, I built a very complex and coherent Berlin School style sequence within an ambient project in Logic Pro. Really really one of the best plug-in I ever purchased!
thanks for these tutorials, they are really helping me understand this plugin better, i love how we can set it in chord mode in the midi play and i can sequence an entire chord. Really nice for chiptunes sounds. Was a bit confusing in the midi play window at first. didn't understand what was going on because by default when i switched to chord or arpeggiator mode it was set to nearest note and i was losing my scale pattern. I think i get it now tho. Will watch the other 2 videos i found from you as well thanks
Thanks, some really useful insights here. Is it possible to set up Stepic so that it listens to incoming MIDI for gate and pitch? In other words, it's silent until a MIDI Note On occurs, and then it plays during that note only, transposing the sequence according to the note's interval from a base note? That would be incredibly useful for more traditional electronic styles (think Jean-Michel Jarre...).
in ableton you should use the max for live version in order to make use of ableton mapping. the vst version does not have that feature as it's meant for other DAW's
@@Projektor_music Ah, thanks - you just answered a question I asked in another comment. That's a shame, it means that transposing sequences can only be done by copying them to other stores? Or is it possible to modulate the overall pitch control? Maybe that's the best way...
Thank You for this amazing explanation of the great plugin! ))) But, your Live SKIN is very bad! Even on hi rez it is not readable. pls, use another, default skin is excellent in my opinion.
Hey man, I get many comments on the skin. I'd say 60-40% positive/negative so even if I go back to the default it is going to make people upset. IDK why people say it isn't readable. The contrast is very high between the white text and dark skin so I'd say it should be fine. Could you elaborate?
@@Projektor_music it's totally fine on my high res displays, my phone(s) and my 12 year old Kali Linux laptop bruh. Ignore these npcs. It's a problem on their end, not yours. Btw. You sound like a kraut, is this true oder was?

Yes and it keeps getting updated too!
very comprehensive overview, thank you
Thanks man! Stepic got a big update yesterday andd I did another video for it covering the new features!
Suuuperb! Great information this! Cheers! 👏
Thanks man! Glad the video is helpful!
Very good Video Tutorial. Thank u very much for your time and good work. 👍
can it record by just playing the music on the keyboard and moving the sliders on a midi controller?
9:28 ALSO -
Press and hold shift and you can essentially draw in the patterns
Thanks for the tip boss.
Brilliant
This is excellent !
Thanks man!

I don't recal if you can do that but maybe it has midi learn!
@@Projektor_music Thanks, I'll take a look! I'm using Bitwig, by the way.
this can be done with the 1.5 update!
@@moontan91 Indeed it can! I'm happy to say I have that version now and it's just great :)
11:15 Was it intentional to create Darude - Sandstorm?
no, it's a happy accident ahaha. I noticed it too when I watched it back after uploading, if I had know I'd made a bit of an edit maybe ahaha
@@Projektor_music hahaha no! I think it's good you kept it! :D
Can this be used in a standalone on a desktop and drag the midi once a pattern is done
I don't think so no...
I have problem because why can't i do automation i don't have icon mapping just cc I use vst version. Please help

@@Projektor_music yes i know now☹️
@@Projektor_music yes i know i already bought stepic for live and i just returned the vst version.
@@baczorek OK so it should work now right?
@@Projektor_music yes perfect 😊
Note/chord input on individual steps using external midi keyboard?
this does not use an external keyboard. it just sends the midi from stepic to the synth... all midi is generated inside stepic

The bad part of stepic is that it has no glide, even in the newer version.
it is sending midi data, of course it has no glide. it's not a synth...
