I like the splatter paint. I don’t care how played out or tacky it is. It was awesome in the 80’s and still is.

Ok so Ike I hate to say this but as a friend there's really no wrong way to splatter paint my friend an I had splatter painted BMX bikes in late 80s early 90s lol looks awesome guys

@@Lively_1185 I never said that but I’m not going in to change into a long sleeve shirt that won’t protect my skin and just make me hotter and I’m definitely not wearing a motorcycle jacket to test drive a bike with a top speed of 30mph, I just can’t see the justification now maybe a chest protector or something like that, but it wouldn’t have mattered what Ike was wearing when he wrecked he still would have hurt himself all the same🤷♂️

I worked at a garage with a kid named "Glenn" for a few years in Nashua NH, Every time this old man came in he called "Glenn" ..."CLAM" !!! lol ! I'm not kidding ! Glenn tried 100 times to correct the old man, but he always said, okay Clam" !! hahha ! still makes me laugh !

I worked in an office in the late 80's and yes we had electronic messaging in the late 80's it was not what we would call today email but basicity the same thing just not widespread like it is today, lol.

@@Rattus-Norvegicus I think it was a little over 1600 for everything. I got the rascal, 212 stage 1 motor, torque converter and some extras. Won’t ever get my money back out of it, but it will be a fun hobby
1:39 Youre saying its quality, I do have to knit pick and say that the spatter from the welds arent even scraped off. at my old metal fab job we didnt send ANYTHING out that wasnt spick and span

For the low price of 800 dollars you can buy the rascal minibike without a paint job and no engine. I’m not saying you’d be dumb to buy it but there is certainly better options

I'm a fan of acetone for cleaning before paint. If you buy it in larger containers and actually remember to close the lid and keep it out of hot places it probably is quite a bit cheaper than spray cans of any kind of cleaner.
My first competition RC car had a splatter paint body shell. Can't beat that retro look 🙌

That front springer fork set up is similar to mtd forks. Pretty sweet. I have an MTD and it rides really nice.
The splatter paint is on point
When you build the new shop build up the dirt a foot or so before pouring the slab.

Feel bad for you Ike. I was in that situation last year. The first week is tough. Then you start getting slowly used to it. Then later on it will start to get hard again cuz it just starts to feel like so much time is passing.
quick bikers secret for the handgrips. use a little liquid dawn dish soap. it acts a lubricant but drys to make them stick better.

John it was nice to see you take the reigns with Ike down. True Charles is very capable, but I remember back to the early days when you were still learning and it seemed like you were mostly along for the ride. Kudos to you sir!
It hurts me so much to see Ike in that condition, sadness in hes eyes, my shoulder was operated too, and i did just sit there staring my honda cb750-f dohc, for hours in a day.... For a freaking year and a half.... But now i can drive again, and its the best feeling in the world, just ordered new tires, shocks, front shocks going to service, new exhaust etc, so happy with it, maybe some day i will get to world of minibikes, and stuff you guys do.

In the 80's it was BBS message boards... also surprised you guys have not used U-Pol (Pul?) self etching primer... looks great. I keep trying to resist ordering up a rascal
old bmxer trick for putting on grips. heavy breathing ( lol ) in to the grip puts just a little condensation in to the grip . keep on keep in on what your doing .
Ike at 15:20 with that hair ,stubble and shirt looks just like Stanley Saitek from Miami vice. So he definitely pulled off the 80s lol
Yeah I've used those knobby tires on a monster moto they're awesome
A little tip from my motocross days, spray a little spray paint down the grips it lubes it up then cures to a glue.
splatter paint tip(suggestion?) hold a short piece of , lets say,,,broom handle in one hand , load your paint to your brush,,take aim;),,,now rap the handle part of your paint brush on the broomstick,,,,,or whatever,,, makes for an interesting spread and differing patterns. Happy splattering ;) Great work guys !!

I hate splatter paint, just looks sloppy. And you guys put it on EVERYTHING!
Other than that, i really love all the builds! Especially when you finally work out most of the kinks in a new build and start setting good lap times, that is really satisfying to watch

Use hairspray as a lube for putting your grips on instead of compressed air. They go on a LOT easier and won't budge once the hairspray dries!
Ike with no sling is best ike! One suggestion i have maybe try flames on a project?
If you have issuies with hand grips twisting or sliding off . pull of the grip and spray some clear coat inside the grip, or on the bar end. Next slide back on immeaditly and let dry overnight.
