This was sooo helpful! I"m a newbie to nails and had no idea how to choose a lamp. Now I know what to look for. Thank you!!
Thank you Totally agree with the silver over black inside and the placement of the lights.
Very informative video. Thank you for making this video.
Really comprehensive, informative review. Thank you x
Thank you .
Totaly agree black absorbs the light, opposed to reflecting it.
Thank you for this! I really love and appreciate this channel! You’re a gem 💎 to the nail community 😊❤️
Thank you very much . That really means a lot to me ❤️
I have had the WORST luck when it comes to UV / LED lamps... (Which is completely my fault - I should have done my research before just winging it.) I've been through about five lamps now (all were fairly inexpensive) and not a single one has been able to cure gel polishes correctly. I realize now that it's because none of them had the proper wattage that it takes to cure. So thank you for this, it was very informative!!
Thank you for watching . Glad I can help .
Thank you! I’ve been trying to look for which lamp would work better but I couldn’t find a video but yours was really informative !
Glad to help out ❤️
@@Denisejohn65NailEd i would really appritiate your help and opinion... I started doing nails in Croatia 18years ago, when it came out i tried the original sun1 and loved it when i transitioned from cnd uv to led lamps ... Sun1 didnt have a timer but it had a silver reflective bottom... Now sun lamps have a timer but no silver in bottom .. i agree with you, we NEED BOTH 😥😥 i dont undestand why they dont make it combined... I put aluminium sticker paper on the bottom of my white lamps now.. I was working for years with sun5 but I just ordered sun3 hoping it will cure thumbs since it has the lowest led positioning, but i fear i will not like black bottom like you .. I really feel the most longlasting i ever had was sun1 but it doesnt have a timer .. i do wish they make a lamp that has everything, or maybe i havent found it . Have you? .. i am confuzed about sun7 and sun7max are they not real sun lamps, i saw a lot od sun lamps on ebay .. sun max for two hands etc.. Do you have any info about them? and can i ask after all you tried now it has been years what lamp is your favourite? I am sorry for asking a lot of questions but there are not many people that have been trying out so many things like you and i trust you, I would love your input now after years have passed... Ty so so much ❤️
I don’t think sun max is a real sun lamp . The sun7 is a rechargeable lamp and I don’t like it ! It’s big and bulky and heavy . I don’t like that the top is not covered all the way . I never used it because I just hated it .
I’m using a Lavinda uv/led lamp which I bought and love . I just bought it like 8 months ago and they are now sold out . They are only carrying their rechargeable model . Madenia has a good lamp that’s popular . I have another video coming out re introducing the lamp . The video comes out Saturday .
I just got a new rechargeable lamp to introduce . Omg it’s amazing ! The video will be out next week ( Wednesday ) .
@@Denisejohn65NailEd ohhh thank you so much! After so many years my dream is to find a lamp that cures the corner if thumb without me having to warn clientes every time "be carefull to make sure you keep a thumb a little rotated and in the air".. ufffff... Hard nail tech life hahahah 🤓😁🎀
Thank you! This video was perfect, exactly what I was looking for... I am a beginner with an old UV-lamp, now looking for a UV/LED to replace it... Now I know more! :) Love from Sweden
Thank you for linking this!! Loved your review and opinions on the LED light placements! I seriously can’t wait to start messing with Gel 😍🙌🏻
It’s so fun ! I love it ! The best thing is it don’t smell like acrylic .
It’s so fun ! I love it ! The best thing is it don’t smell like acrylic .
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed YASS!! I’m thinking of purchasing Kiara Sky gel and koko & Claire than working my way up to builder gels 😬
That’s a good idea .
Great Review! The info so helpful. Thank you.
I'm sending back an Abox only because the connector for cord was not smooth. Also, I'd sure appreciate a heavier model, something that doesn't feel like a toy.
In the instance of a nail lamp, you would really, really want the white interior and a reflective place for the hand to rest. White reflects all wavelengths of light in all directions and a silver or foiled surface will reflect it back in one single direction which in this case would help cure the underside of the gel.
I totally agree .
I love the Sun brand of lamps. I have a 52W one right now. All the Sun ones I’ve had were good. I don’t know why I always go for more watts. I don’t think it makes a lot of difference, but did you know they have them up to 80 watts now? Holy cow! I’m just glad the prices have come down as well as they have, but you still have to watch that they’re sending you one with a US plug if you’re in the US. I got one with a EU plug (though they sent an adapter, but still it was annoying. I’m with you on all the features you spoke of.
I bought one that's 128 watts. Not sure if that's too strong?
It was only $34.99, it's UV /LED and they give a 1 year warranty and I noticed all the other ones I came across on Amazon didn't offer that. But I'm new to gel nails etc so I don't know what I'm doing lmao I keep having my husband buy me stuff and still haven't used anything 😭😭😭 I'm too nervous it'll damage my natural nails.
LOL, I've thought about using traditional chrome polish to paint my lamp silver on the inside.... i have a 48W X9 plus SUNUV light... love it
Lol
I really need to get a better lamp. Same here. You have so many. Do you have the link to the good one. Yes I love more light's. 👍👍💞
Yes! Black absorbs light! That’s a scientific fact! Don’t purchase a black interior. You’re correct go for white or better yet a reflective silver interior:)
I have the sun 5 and have never had a problem with it. I think the lights are in a good position and it's shallow enough that you don't really need the lights at the front (but I would like some there just incase 😆). I feel the same way as you on the mirrored lining, I had always thought it was a good idea and I don't know why they stopped doing that. I wonder if I could put some foil on the base to help cure polygel etc underneath.
Can you put a link? I've been looking for a dual lamp for awhile and watching several reviews but i trust yours😍😍😍
100% agree with you Denise 👍 I love the Sun5 lamp ,I've had for quite awhile so decided to upgrade to the Sun5 plus and it doesn't disappoint , the more lights the better , I have my lamps and lights on a remote control system so it's not really an issue for me that the Sun5 plus doesn't turn off .... Thanx for sharing Beautiful 😘xox
Awesome . What are you using for the remote control system ?
@@Denisejohn65NailEd I use a remote / timer plug in for my 2 Sun5 lamps and a remote control light switch for my lights 😁 Hubby set it all up for me and I love the peace of mind it gives me , knowing that with a couple of clicks on my two remotes everything is turned on or off 😘xox
Hi Denise! 👋🏾 Please enter me to into the Stamping Plates Giveaway. This is my favorite video. I bought a SunUV 5 Plus because of this video and your review. It’s become my go to lamp! (I’m not a professional. But, I’ve been doing my own nails for over 20 years. 🙃)
I also bought the mini, portable lamp based on you review. But THIS is my favorite video.
I always love your reviews and your channel! 💗
Thanks, Denise
You’re welcome . Thanks for watching
Just got my 120w SUN X5 MAX! I really love it!
AWESOME !
. Denisejohn65 - Nail Ed it has 45 light beads!
Does you'r sun lamp still works good? I need to buy a new lamp I don't know which one is better...
Yes , it works .
Hi i wamted to ask something if in one lamp the voltage very high like 128 or 256 is it too much and is there a negative sides of it? Because when i see recommendations they saying 36-48 V and i thought maybe the others are harmful
Hello, I wanted to know which of the 2 is better and more complete in functions, I await your answer, thank you
Thanks for this thorough and honest review. I am going to purchase the SUNUV 5plus. 😘
I love that lamp .
@@Denisejohn65NailEd Last week I thought I ordered the SUNUV 5 lamp on eBay. Well, I got it a few days ago and it wasn’t doing any of the memory features and it wouldn’t turn off. I watched you SUNUV 5 video again and realized I bought a knockoff SUN 5 lamp by accident. Your lamp clearly says SUNUV not SUN. I felt so stupid, 😢. I contacted the eBay seller to see if I could return it, they reimbursed me the difference minus shipping cost and told me to keep it. Now I made sure I ordered the SUNUV brand off Amazon. 😁
One thing I'm sure about is I feel the exact same way you do about lamps.
Tfs 💋
In my shopping cart
Hi denise are the uv led lamps usually warm inside?
No , not at all . But if you are using it a lot , they will get a little warmer inside . I think that’s normal with any lamp and a lot of use at one time .
@@Denisejohn65NailEd oh ok, Ive just got the sun 5plus and noticed it was quiet warm when testing but Ive not used this type of lamp before.
Hi, do we need in sun5 plus, put the thumb separate Or they all get dry together?
I always suggest you do the thumbs separate .... no matter what lamp . Better to be safe and have a perfect thumb .... than a loop sided one .
Which one do you use on a daily basis? I'm looking at buying 2.
Currently the Sun5 Plus
What is exactly the model of the lamp so I can see if I can get the led parts to change mind because the leds stopped working
It should tell you that at the site where you bought the lamp in the specifications.
Curious as to where I could buy the SUNUV 5 Pro
Sun has a store on Aliexpress
So it’s been a while and a lot of new lamps out there. Any new recommendations for a light

@@Denisejohn65NailEd thanks but what do you mean ?
I'm looking into buying a UV LED light combo this would be my first lamp in 4 years purchasing and back then I don't think they did combos or I didn't know about it any who my question is for a combo light is 120 watts just too much
I never heard of one with that high wattage . Do you have a link for it ?
@@Denisejohn65NailEd it's on alliexpress
What is it called ?
@@Denisejohn65NailEd they have more then one
Make sure your lamp is a uv / led dual lamp . Make sure it is 36 or 48 watts and that it has 24 or more little lights in it . It also should have a low heat mode , so you do not experience heat spikes with builder gels or polygels .
I bought one on Amazon for $34.99 (brand name is Ovlux) and it's 128 watts UV/LED and they give a 1 year warranty. Is that too powerful of wattage? Or might they be lying? Mainly purchased it because of the 1 year warranty cuz I kept seeing other reviews on other lamps where people complained it stopped working after a few months or a few uses. I bought mine for home use and will barely use it haha so that 1 year warranty sounds amazing to my lazy butt! 🤣😭
Sounds awesome !
Which one did you buy pls?
@@hebaelhossary7392 if you look in my original comment I put the info in there. I can try to post a link for it though
@@hebaelhossary7392 the brand is called Ovlux 128W UV LED Nail Lamp - Rapid-Curing Gel Nails Dryer for Manicures and Pedicures - Dual-Voltage with Extra-Long Cable, Multi-Language Manual - Professional Gel Lamp for Homes or Salons by OVLUX, Gold
@@hebaelhossary7392 mine is a gold color. I mainly bought it because of the great warranty it has because all the other ones I came across didn't offer a warranty like this one
How do you change the lamps on these types?
You can’t … they are supposed to be good for like 60,000 hours and that’s suppose to be a lot of years if you do the math
Are these UV or led? How can we tell?
@@ee7369 They cure both kinds of gels . It will tell you on the information about the lamps .
What about reflecting bottoms
They are very good !
