I used Logitech's wheel for 15 years. Coming from a controller to the Logitech was an absolutely amazing experience and this man Shawn Cole is to blame, hehe
Really informative Shaun. It can seem daunting at first when you think of the outlay but I recall back to when I started getting into it and where I am now and most bits I started with have been replaced at least once. It can be a money pit but its an enjoyable money pit and one I have spend many hundreds of hours, probably thousands on over the last 12 years.
i would give the advice of going with PC, and start with older sims.. RBR, GTR2, RF etc.. there is tons of free modded content that will keep you occupied for months on end. you wont have the graphics of modern games, but these games can run on any pre existing computer most people already have. single screen 1080p in the 32-40 inch range is also fine. look on the used market instead for quality hardware.
Well if you had or bought a ps5 and then the wheel ACC for $29 on steam wouldn’t matter! Steam games don’t work on ps5. I get you’re are use to pc racing so I get why you said steam.
I have to take serious umbrage with the 'PC is expensive' nonsense Shaun. For $500 Canadian pesos (3-400 in real money🤣) I can build a more than capable NEW PC (That also can be upgraded as you go and I just confirmed the prices now.) that can handle 1080p 60+ FPS in Iracing etc let alone what you can do with the original AC and modding. (Heck Race 07+ is still a thing.) that will get you turning laps right away. Yes as sims get more intense or you want higher frame rates with more graphical fidelity you will need to upgrade down the road but to get started on PC it's not that bad at all. When it comes to gear and a rig I'm with you 100% with your suggestions.

Thanks Shaun, I hope to see more in this series 👍

This was helpful information . I’ve decided to go with thrustmaster and the 488 wheel for my first setup. On ps5
