I'm really enjoying this in-depth stuff! Please let me know who to check out next :) Blastoise hidden mechanics: ruclips.net/video/HJccrJPr0Bs/видео.html
One little secret on gengar that's often overlooked is that sludge bomb actually damages/poisons opponents in the target line and not just the circle target. (Bomb passes through opponent.)
Warning for 11:20 The upgraded hex lasts longer. Non upgraded hex ends earlier so you cant spam it till sludge bomb comes back. You have to stop earlier, but its something youll get used to as you play gengar more. Also for the unite move, gengar has a little ripple effect in the ground, so people can see that, but its so minor its really hard to see. Most likely only really high level/experienced players would notice. Even then in a chaotic fight its unrealistic imo.
I think you meant optimal 👍 Edit: also to add, these aren’t “hidden mechanics”, these are all of the mechanics together in unison in your gameplay. If anyone here has played any other moba, they’d be familiar with this and recognize it isn’t anything hidden
Love the new art on your channel! And glad to see another Trainer that loves Luxray, hopefully we get it in game :) Great stuff for Gengar too! I'm more of a supporter/attacker, but these are great to keep in mind!
subscribed! you didnt just teach the hidden mechanics you also taught us how to use the mechanic to its full potential. Very high quality video, thanks!
If you plan on doing Garchomp, i would recommend asking a youtuber named phil/youmuu about any hidden mechanics. Hes a Garchomp main and a master who found the DC+DR+EB combo that yeets enemies a whole screen away.
It always amazes me how people find out that kind of stuff with those hidden mechanics or basic attack modifiers on different mons. As always, great video, keep it up! See you all in the second half of season one!
Its just happens when playing a lot and good attention. For blastoise idk if this is known but in rapid spin he can move even faster while using water spout. Good way to run away from fights if you dont have eject
I do want to thank you so much the resets info on shadow ball and dream eater with the combo did help me with a new gengar build i found online to try out with the new patch and because of your video i actually hit master tonight! I was so ecstatic about it and wanted to come here and thank you for your really helpful video
I'm very happy you put this video out, I'm trying to main Gengar and i use shadow ball/dream eater too though i do it because i think its funner than hex spam
Thanks for this guide! I played dream eater + shadow ball gengar for the first time the other day and now he’s my most played Pokémon. I’m already doing the most damage on my teams but I can’t wait to do more with two extra boosted basic attacks!
Not only is this great for ppl who want to use it but also helps to prep for someone who actually knows how to use gengar that way you have an idea of what they would or could do
Another Gengar hidden machanic: When playing sludge bomb Hex, when you use your Unite Move, Hex's cooldown reduction is increased, so you can deal more hexes while you're shining.
Another great video teeds and can't wait to use these features for my next gengar match keep up the awesome videos the art work also looks so well done I love it 😀
I didn't really care about gengar prior to watching this video. But now that I watched this, I am in awe!! Gengar is now a potential main for me!! Thank you soo much for this video, u r awesome!! ❤️
You can do that too if the enemy has no escape option or dash, using dream eater first is to make sure that the enemy can't move so you can deal damage freely.
Amazing! I only really do my daily quests, not spending much time in training mode. This was super helpful. You really are helping us become the very best, like no one ever was! Venusaur next, please. I like the new picture BTW.
Great video Teeds. Learned a lot. QOTD: I would love hidden mechanics for less utilized Pokémon to help make them more viable, like Venusaur, Slowbro, Mr. Mime, Charizard, or Talonflame
Yes I'm very late, but yesterday I finally bought Gengar. I don't know if your video contains anything I don't already know but as I said it many times before, you have an asmr voice lol. And I'm sleepy, otherwise I would play unite right now.
Here's something not many people know... Gardevoir's Psyshock reduces the cool down of BOTH of it's abilities when it hits players or wild Pokemon. Future Sight reduces its cool down and gives a temporary SPEED BOOST to Gardevoir when it hits an enemy player, but NOT a wild Pokemon, and does nothing for the cooldown of the other ability I'd love to see you make a video on this for Gardevoir players!
if im playing safe i like to Shadow Ball - Dream Eater 1 - Dance/Dodge - Shadowball - Teleport - Shadowball. No autos until you TP but if you need to play it safe its possible to get 2 shadowballs out before you TP. (lvl 20 Shell Bell on my CDR BTW)
Very interesting. Idk any other hidden mechanics except one for cramorant. If he has a fish in his mouth, he will automatically launch it at the first Pokémon that deals any damage to him
Love the new channel pic. Just wanted to say that congrats on how far you have come. Amazing work as always. We appreciate the time and effort your put into these videos. Even when your not feeling 100% there is still 110% effort put into every video.
My first bought pokemon was gengar & purchase its space suit skin. I thought it was pretty weak at first because you get so killed easily & hard to level up early game. So i decided to not entirely use him when i was a veteran lol. I just discovered this & im wilding on master rank quad & penta kill
Here's a good combo: Ball - DreamEater - Ball - Teleport - Ball - Basics and Ball until Dream Eater cooldown (or just run away like an assasin) - Repeat
hi love this vid of yours love how u talk and explain it too!! btw what item do you use foe gengar? im trynaa lvl up 3 item to lvl 30 and i cant decide
You should have said something about the mindgames you can play with dreameater. Because the window for the teleport is so long i like to play the long game and throw it a dream eater on someone important. It forces them into a crowd and to back off more times than not because they don't wantto take 8k damage and die without trading so you can essentially take players out of a fight by just not teleporting works really well for stalling dreadnaw. I like to shadow ball dreameater wait shadow teleport basic shadow it terms to catch moons of gaurd then just going immediately.
Damage: 12,661 O.o seriously tho thanks so much for the advanced combo and all the other info you've been providing. Huge help. Keep up the good work, please!
gengar was my first main got 200 games on him and have switched to cramorant id like to pick him up again especially since the skin is so cool thanks for the tips the boosted attacks are thigns i didnt notice
Dream eater - shadow ball - dream eater - shadow ball - basic for squishies. Dream eater - shadow ball - stay at range - shadow ball - dream eater - shadow ball - basic. Why? Because if you use all those basics in between you basically die. Gengar is extremely squishy and in that skillset has no blink skill to get AWAY from enemies. If you keep being in their face you'll get caught in cc and actually well, all enemy skills. Shadow ball, dream eater has a great range advantage. And it's generally more wise to use it overall...
Love Gengar videos! When I run Shadowball Dream Eater I like throw the shadowball first instead of dream eater that way my shadowball is up right away after I dream eat but with your way I can now add in these sneaky boosted attacks!
I believe that Gengar is still bugged. It's no problem that he can now take damage while HEXing. The problem is that HEX does not seem to reset after Gengar takes damage while he is HEXing. Before they fixed the bug, HEX could loose its reset even if Gengar did not take damage, but now, the fix seems to have made it so that HEX only loses its reset after Gengar takes damage or possibly after he gets CC'd. The way that it should work is that Gengar should get the HEX reset as long as he hits a target that has a status condition regardless of whether he gets hit/CC'd or not. However, he still often does not get the reset, even after he hits a poisoned target. Do you think you can test this?
Fun fact: You use your lick on one of those aipoms and you get a boosted attack that you can use on the lillipup, instead of attacking the air, take my advice.
Cinderaces Blaze and how attack speed boosts with level ups. Every time I think the Cinderace is dead, it eject buttons away, Focus Band procs, and i get attacked 3 times a second with every second one being a crit and I die lol.
The hex mechanic is so reliant on hitting with it, and the meta rn is only going for dash/mobile heros, it happens more then once per match when I'm going for hex that they just dodge it, ether because they knew I was going for them or out of pure luck. When I miss iam dead, so shadow ball and dream eater are the moves to go for me
Just wondering, after using a basic attack/skill DURING Gengar's unite move (when he's not in the ground), can enemies see you already? Or will gengar only be seen once I press the unite move again (the one that deals dmg). Not sure if I managed to explain that clearly.
One question about the 3x basic 3x shadow ball combo, you kind of set up a boosted attack already by basic attacking 3x, does your next move (shadow ball) get boosted by this?
Shadow Ball doesn't get boosted, the 3rd basic attack is what's boosted. Basic Attack 1, Basic Attack 2, Boosted Attack. Using Shadow Ball in between your attacks just allows you to play off your cooldowns to maximize damage in the smallest amount of time or slow them down to make it easier to hit your basics, then chase after them with the boosted.
When you use just the first part of Gengar's ult, and then you start attacking or using any other skill, do you remain invisible for the enemies until you use the second part of the ult?
I'm really enjoying this in-depth stuff! Please let me know who to check out next :)

I’m not sure which Pokémon have hidden mechanics and which don’t but I will ask to look into Cinderace and Greninja.
@@ml8185 I think greninja has a thing where it’s basic attack reduces water suriken’s cool down, but I could be wrong
Keep up the great content! Love the new profile pic
I've got a lot of charizard hidden mechanics, can we talk about it somewhere? discord will do
Maybe zeraora

now i know why i thought i missed my sludge bomb but they still get poisoned lol. thanks!

So that's how that Slobro found me, lol.
I have been doing this as Gengar without even realizing it was a hidden mechanic, I was just trying to manage cooldowns and it seemed optional
I think you meant optimal
👍
Edit: also to add, these aren’t “hidden mechanics”, these are all of the mechanics together in unison in your gameplay. If anyone here has played any other moba, they’d be familiar with this and recognize it isn’t anything hidden

11:02 what if the status condition is beneficial instead of harmful, eg. blissey's helping hand or its shield? would that count as well?

@ 5:42 after eyeballing it one too many times, I think dreameater port lowers the cooldown of shadowball by around 2-2.5seconds, not 1second.
couldn't you shadow ball before using the first part of dream eater to make the combo easier?
I seriously didn't know that you can still use his other moves while using ambush.. Thanks for the info. Gonna try it out..😊
