Greatest asian male volleyballer. With the talents and skills the americans, latins and europeans are Ishikawa maintained his career in the europe despite of his shorter height. Such an incredible player. Tho I am european I followed him since I watched him during Haruko finals when I visited Japan in 2014. Hearing that he joint Modena I moved to Italy to see him play and I am glad to witness his journey.
At 1:46, didn't expect one of the commentators to do some wordplay with Ishikawa's name 😳: "...Ishikawa hasn't lost any of his Yuki..." with "yu(u)ki" here means "courage" in Japanese 👏. The kanji for "Yuki" in his name has a different meaning but it's still very cool !!!
Japan is like everyone second team, everyone love a good underdog and japan are being even more than that in the recent year. I can totally imagine them lifting a trophy in the next years, their squad is young and only get better.
*everyone's first or second team. Fixed that for you. ;) I‘m rooting for them, no matter who they play against. And I‘m not Japanese (nor a stupid nationalist whose self-esteem depends on how people from his country are doing in specific sports).
Bravo Team Japan... you finally made it and showed the world that inspite of your lacking in height and physique against your Western and European opponents your talents prevailed . thank you Ran Takahashi for your massive contribution to reached the bronze medal podium inspite of your injury...so are you Mr. Miyaura, youre simply awesome, to our Japan skipper Yuki Ishikawa and the rest of the team, thank you , and kudos to Coach Blain too and the coaching staff....from your fans from the Philippines.
They don't really lack in physique... If Japanese players jump higher thean the westerners, it's because they have more powerful legs. They're faster and generally have more stamina. I don't call this lacking in physique.
Exactly, what a weird statement. Japan has been one of the most dominating nations in men’s artistic gymnastics for quite some time now. And what do you need to succeed in gymnastics? Strength, of course, among other things. The notion Japanese men were small weaklings but succeeded in volleyball inspite of their shortcomings is pretty disrespectful if you think about it.
This was a magnificent experience for the Japanese team. Yuki Ishikawa was extraordinary, Ran, Miyaura, Yamauchi, Sekita, Yamamoto, Onodera, and the new substitute newest were amazing. They keep my heart jumping until the moment they win. Congratulations, Japan, and thank you for your greatest job ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
@@chrisbacka8362 Yuji was. But he is injured! WE must also recognize his contributions before he was injured. It is a back injury and serious one. What I heard is that the Japanese volleyball coaches want Yuji gets fully recovered before the Paris Olympics. That is why he is keeping a low profile. Yuji is by far the most popular player in the men's volleyball, and you want to have him in the team so that funs support the Ryujin Nippon in Paris!

Yes that was history for them. 1st in VNL since it started in 2017. Last yr was their first time in the top8 as well. They’ve gone thru a lot until Ishikawa’s leadership and talent brought them to where they are now.
It was a long time ago, but they won a gold medal at the Olympics. Not only that, but they also won two silver medals at the World Cup and two bronze medals at the World Championships. It's a long time ago, but it's still their record.
I'm still happy for JAPAN getting Bronze Medal. It's their lucky year this year 2023, coz it's almost 14 years since 2009 before Japan finally getting placement in FIVA or VMNL! 👍🤭😁❤️🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
Anong FIVA accla? Bandwagoner ka din eh. FIBA tsaka FIVB lang meron. Tsaka wag mong ipilit ang VMNL na acronym. VNL lang. patawa tong nakikisakay lang sa hype 🤡🤡🤡
🇹🇭♥️🇯🇵I really like volleyball. I like every team, but especially the Japan team. It's fun. I can feel the fun. It's like going down and playing by yourself. This year the Japan team Much stronger and faster.
Japan have been on a roll, started off very strong this year! I’m so incredibly proud of all of them, especially Ishikawa who let his team to making history 💪 extremely upset that he did not get MVP despite being the leader in stats (and I’m sure A LOT of volleyball fans are as well), but it’s alright since we all know who the real MVP was here
Serve, toss, attack, teamwork, and captain. The team is well-balanced with high level of all skills. The days of winning volleyball with one tall ace are long gone. In the new era, Japan is a legendary team. They are the best Samurai who always give us fun and courage!!
I don’t think Ishikawa will go to Plusliga. He will retire in Milan. Everyone loves him there plus he loves to be there. For sure milan will do everything to keep him there too
This reminds me of the women's team in 2010 who won bronze at the World Championship and bronze at the London Olympics 2012. Congratulations Nippon from Malaysia 🇲🇾❤

I’ve always loved Japans OH group. Ishikawa was mentored by yanagida and fukazawa, and now he’s mentoring takahashi. It’s incredible
