- I decided to get new batteries. I have used Gens Ace batteries for many years and they have always served me well. I was using a different brand of batteries, but decided to go back to Gens Ace... this time Redline after my experience with a 4s battery for bashing. These will be used for racing.
Note: Minute 2:40 I say "parallel". It should be "series".

Im looking @ these but not familiar with bullet connectors . Wouls it be as easy as getting EC5 bullet wires for the Arrmas & another one for Traxxas . ? More of a Flyer here & accepting this new challange. Gens Ace for Drones & Helicopters have never failed me .
EC5 are 5mm but it is extra plumbing. At least you will not risk reversing the polarity. The Traxxas connectors are different. They are good but a bit of a paint sometimes if you buy them in parts. Sometimes they slip and push out. EC5 is much easier. Even XT90 are easy to run.
Hi,good day, Question about the battery, it shows HV is a 4.20v for cell maximum capacity or is a really HV 4.35v for cell, please let me know if you know, THANKS..
The track I run only allows 4.20V per cell. But you can charge then to 4.35V under HV if you want to just have fun.
I also got brand new batteries with 4.10v / cell. Should I return it? What have you done with yours? Did the high voltage damaged them?
Surprisingly, no. I am guessing they stored them in a cool environment and probably were not made too long before my purchase. I wish they date stamped these things. I am still running both.
Hay just getting into off road buggy racing and picked up one of these. I know the 1c charge rate is 6 amps, I was wondering if you have done some testing with higher c rate charging on these.
I have not... well, 10A is the most. But my batteries last a long time vs. the guys charging at 40A need new ones every year or sooner. They will sell their for cheap at the "rc swap meet" because they no longer perform well and dip in voltage sooner. But they work for bashing.
@@telecomandorc good to know thanks.
2:40 should be "this battery here is just two cells in SERIES so just half of this battery here (pointing to the 4S) with four cells in series.
I know you can get really discombobulated in your thoughts when doing a video and what comes out of your mouth is definitely not what you meant to say.
I definitely botched that one. Thanks for the catch. I'll add it to the description.
They still running after all this time?
Still running.
Pls try to solder it at 90 degree angle..😊
The pull easier and fit into some models better soldered in-line. 90 degrees can be a pain to remove in some cases.
You can install the pull grips. 90 degree is to get max contact if you are racing. The notch on the connector is actually for 90 degrees. For 180 better to get connectors with deep holes for the wire to get into the connector/solder..
@@HL-OOI It will be similar. The amp draw is not much to make a difference in spec. Mod, maybe. But not in a 17.5T of higher. Once the wire touches the terminal, current will flow. It's only 14AWG. Even in the pocket terminals, the hole is so big the wire only touches the tip and part if the side. The extra solder is just resistance we never see due to the contact the wire and the terminal make. On a side note, long ago I did run a test with 3.5mm bullet connectors on a motors to esc and then a direct solder. The difference was noticeable. I think 2 Km/h on a 21.5T. I would have to look for the video.
whats VTA?
Vintage Trans American. It is based on bodies from the late 60s and early 70s to replicate the races car themes of the time. Cars are suposed to be painted like the era. So it's the trans am cars like the Mustangs, Camaros, Challenges, etc.
