They made it seem like it was possible that Louise just would’ve forgotten 9 months of pain and swelling ending with hours of labor 😂
Mother Jefferson pulls out an old picture from the family album of her and Louise on a Staten Island beach at the time of the young woman's birth, which disproves the young woman's claim of Louise being her biological mother.

Why didn’t Louise just say she’s only been pregnant once!?
In the rest of the episode, George's mother proves that it wasn't Louise. It was always theorized that her mother was probably Louise's sister, who ran away when they were younger.
I don't remember that part about Louise's sister... But would make sense... Too bad they didn't have DNA then they could know
@@nenep1872 she came back later from France,with a son. She described how she left in humiliation, because she was the older sister ,and supposed to be setting a good example for Louise,and got herself pregnant.
She could have had that baby,a girl, then left for France,and, had her son.

@melissagerber7231 yea but the baby louise sister had was boy. This girl is not related to louise at all. Louise briefly dated her dad, and he used louise name for the birth certificate for some reason. I guess for the mother to avoid shame

This show was from TVs Golden era. Along with- All in the Family, Good Times, Different Strokes, What's Happening, Family Ties, Dukes of Hazzard, Gimme a Break, The Facts of Life. I watched and loved all these shows. They were wonderful comedy shows, but found a way to deal with societal issues and family matters in a way that was non-offensive and respectful. I can't believe the crap they put on TV now.
And people try to act as if The Golden Girls was the first sitcom to deal with societal issues in a thoughtful way.

It was her daughter. Louise just didn't want to admit that she cheated on George when he was in Korea. He would probably divorce her and send her back to the hood. She didn't want that.

It was a really good episode, Louise was not her mother. The most surprising part was that it was actually Mother Jefferson who cleared everything thanks to a picture she kept.

Well🫤 Was it her child or not? Louise doesn't sound convincing
Mother Jefferson found a photo of Louise dated sometime in July 1951 before the 10th where she was clearly not pregnant. The script here called for Isabel to repeat "I'm not your mother" for some reason instead of clearly stating "I've only been pregnant one time"! On a side note, Louise told Florence, in a later episode, that after Lionel she could no longer have children. It probably had nothing to do with this episode, but it was a good coincidence that the writers came up with that plot point for that other episode!
