@@kittvskarrkr6074 There's no beastality at all... That's when you have sex with animals... Characters are meant to look aesthetically pleasing (not necessarily hot or sexy). That's it. They had no human connection to cling to, they were just animals. Think about it.
In the dark song that is "(Not) One of Us" there's a line about them being deceived before, and it's not clear if this is just a reference to Scar (from the first movie) or something _else_ that could have happened between films.
I absolutely love this movie, it's my childhood, I'm not saying it's better that the first one, but I think it's a bit more rewatchable for me haha And the songs are gold! (This is my first time hearing them in English tho) I grew up listening to them in Spanish haha
Nuka may be annoying, but I feel bad for him. It’s hard when your mother loves a sibling more than she loves her other children. No doubt it played a part into why he’s so annoying - because he’s always trying to please her and he’s jealous of Kovu
I study zoology, so I just wanted to clarify something. When there's the time jump after Zira's song, it wasn't as much time as you're probably thinking. At the end of this film, Kovu and Kiara are probably around 2-3 years old and Simba and Nala would only be about 5-6 years old themselves. That's ignoring the fact that in reality a new king of a pride would have killed every cub that was born while the previous king was in power, so Kovu would have been killed when Simba became king anyway and Nala would have been killed when Scar took power in the first film, which means Kiara never would have existed in the first place.
Fun facc about Nuka (Kovu's brother): There was a cut line for him as his last words, "I finally got your attention didnt I?" It was kinda to cement how Nuka was supposed to be a tragic character never really getting the attention he needed from his mom
"Not One Of Us" is the best fcking song in this entire movie and even in my opinion beats some of the songs from the first movie. There is no changing my mind on this. I listen to that song at least once a week, it's on my go-to playlist 😂 Also, in terms of the Disney Princess list, I believe that animals cannot count. She is a princess that Disney created but is not a Disney Princess.
Don’t know if you caught it later, but Zira is not Scar’s sister or anything like that. Zira was his lover. Kovu was adopted. Nuka and Vitani are both biological offspring of Zira. At least one, if not both, belongs to Scar. Zira feels like a B version of Scar because she’s a Scar stan. She’s basically an imitation of Scar, for that reason.
I've read somewhere that zira idolized scar but scar would never actually care about anyone other than himself, let alone take some kids in so he probably just manipulated her cause he needed a successor but they were never lovers. So the thought of zira being this obsessed with scar meanwhile scar probably wouldn't even remember her name if u asked him is both sad but funny af
Actually the background of Nuka is quite sad cause all he wanted was some of his mothers attention and admiration that’s why he put himself into danger by chasing simba. Of course he wasn’t my favorite character but he had some funny sequences like the one with the fire circle & I still shed a tear as he died because he felt the need to apologize to his mother cause he failed 😞
Honestly love the sequel even more than the first movie, but maybe it's because I'm a sucker for Romeo and Juliet themes stories xD So glad you reacted to it, such a joy to watch
I have to confess, I love this one wayyyyyyy better than the first! Just.... the songs are f***ing perfect in every way. Also, I 100% has a masive crush on Kovu... Edit: also, yes! Lullaby is the best dong out of a whole movie of amazing songs! I also think it's almost the best villain songs in Disney (poor unfortunate souls is probably the best)
I got made fun of when I admitted to my friends and sisters during a drinking game that I did have a crush on a cartoon lion named Kovu when i was little lmao
I actually love this one more than the first Lion King!! (But I love both a lot)! I used to carry my baby dolls and stuffed animals around and sing 'my lullaby' to them when I was little, haha 🤣
Good enough successor IMO, especially with the OST.. "He Lives in You" is so good they straight up put it in the Broadway musical lmao. Also even though "We are One" and "Not One of Us" wouldn't fit in with the original Lion King, they also deserves recognition.
The first Lion king was a story reference to Shakespeare's Hamlet and this one is a story reference of Romeo & Juliet but Kovu and Kiara don't die. I really love the African chanting in the background of these songs, it gives me chills everytime :)
The outlanders are just skinnier and dirtier because they don't have the better spot but given some time in the pride lands they would look no different than any of the other lions
Their coats are actually a few shades darker, so given time they would look like them, yes, but with slightly darker coats. Similar to a cleaned up Kovu
FYI: That song that your sister keeps playing is also in the Broadway Musical Lion King sung Rafiki. Rafiki was played by Samuel E. Wright on Broadway, the same guy who played Sebastian in the Little Mermaid animated movies. Kiara is disqualified from the Disney Princess Line, because this was a sequel and she’s not Human
To my understanding there is actually a semi-canon book series about the time after the first movie that details how Simba and Nala had a son named Kopa first. I think the writers didn't know about how the sequel would pan out, hence the books ended up being not entirely canon. Discussions online were talking about how Zira and some of Scar's followers were likely still part of Simba's pride then and they might have been banished after taking the young prince's life. This theory would explain why he did not appear in the sequel. Then again, these are all speculations from the fans and nothing official. Although it is not impossible the producers were playing with a dark story such as this, it is more likely they simply switched the concept for a more appealing one. What made them go down that path was probably the thought to have the movie feature a princess, since another prince might have made everything too repetitive.
This is my all time favorite movie; I used to name my first cat Kovu since I fell in love with this movie when I was a child. As of today he sadly passed away but watching this reaction gives me incredible joy ❤️
I think a lot of people focus on the quality of animation when comparing the two films, obviously the first one looks amazing but the sequel just has better songs (except for Upendi that is an evil earworm that can burn in hell), the villains are great, the stakes are way higher and they also risked putting quite a lot of violence in the final battle. Just because you can't see blood doesn't mean its not brutal, like its a good thing the outsiders joined the pride since Simba must have lost like half of his pride in that fight And I love Kovu and Kiara together, they're just adorable from the first meeting
I love this movie, definitely one of my favorite Disney movies, the favorite being the lion king of course ❤️ all the songs slaps but the song they sing when Kovu is exiled marked me as kid, for some reason I can't shake the feeling that someone is singing that to me and it have always made me cry
Lmao, I found this entire video hilarious and amazing, especially when you were so hyped about Kovu’s brother dying, just your entire reaction was great I loved it.

I know this video is a bit old but this movie was literally my entire childhood Even if I was hype fixated on both the first and second, I think I watched the Sequel the most out of the two, it was a comfort movie for me. It has this certain charm to it that I have trouble explaining on what exactly that is but it's just so good. I've always loved the color palettes in every scene, the animation style. Yeah it's not as grand as the animation in the first one (which is beautiful on its own) but it's really...I dunno warm is how I describe it? The music is absolutely fantastic and I love all the songs in the soundtrack. I'm usually one to listen to one song from a soundtrack since that one is what got my most attention but the entire soundtrack for this one I'll listen on repeat. I just love this movie with my whole heart and it will forever be one of my many comfort movies and it's just such a good sequel compared to other Disney sequels. Also Kovu may or may not been my gothic awakening...
9:24 “This song slap definitely more than the first one.” Hey, I kinda second that…! My siblings and I memorised My Lullaby far faster and sooner than we memorised Be Prepared - there’s something about it that’s more skin crawling, definitely one of my favourite underrated Disney villain songs

Oh, Simba certainly knows Pumbaa and Timon are important - it’s WHY he sent them. Other than Simba, Nala and Kiara, they *are* the most important people in the Kingdom. They’re the King’s adoptive parents and seem to have absolute protection in the Pride Lands given that no-one is trying to eat them. They’re certainly protected enough that Simba trusted them to teach Kiara how to send all the birds skittering around like the Bowling with Buzzards that they do.
I've always been confused as to why the outlander were so sure Scar was a great king. Surely some of them were around when he caused a drought and a food shortage. They were starving
According to canon, the drought was never Scar's fault, it was just bad luck. Apparently, he was supposed to have been a great king. The drought was just a bad omen.
@@ganema9 interesting, though he did keep ordering the lionesses to overhunt because food was what he promised the hyenas, and refused to leave the rock to look for more food. Still didn't seem like a very great king, whether the draught was his fault or not.

This movie fucking slaps! Honestly, I enjoy the sequel more than the original 💯 not the greatest animation because it’s straight to video, but a fire soundtrack 🔥
It is definitely a solid sequel! Pretty much tops the rest that followed over the next 15 years. Unlike most Disney animated sequels (excluding more recent sequels), The Lion King 2 was planned to be a theatrical film release. Halfway through production tho, Disney execs chickened out when they realized they couldn't top (or even match) the original film at the box office with this script & soundtrack. They didn't want to spend millions on marketing & shipping the reels out to film theatres only to have it make less money and be critically panned when held up to The Lion King at a theatrical release level. So it became a direct-to-video release of a sequel. The very first one for Disney, I believe. The Lion King 2 is generally one of the most favoured Disney sequels, and tends to top direct-to-video sequel ranking lists. But it is also true, that it probably would be less loved if it had gone to a theatrical release. It's good amongst the niche collection of these type of sequels, not exactly when put up against the rest of the "Disney animated canon" line up. I still love watching it tho!
I'm glad you reacted to "The Lion King 2" because it's a movie worth seeing and I don't know why but not many people react to it on youtube because I searched and found about 2 video clips, one of them yours and still someone else's so nobody does it even though they react to the first one they stop there so thank you! But now please don't be like the others on youtube and react to "The Lion King 3" because he's as good as the others and worth seeing!

I pity Nuka tbh. There's a deleted scene for his death where he tells his mother "I finally got your attention, didnt i?" That first song is so good that when they made Lion King on Broadway they pulled that in and incorporated it into the play. Its such a good play, one of the only Disney movie-to-Broadway that actually seem worth it.
As somebody who has watched the play live, I completely agree!
They're both aesthetically pleasing in the face.
It was actually in the stage show first then in the movie because they knew they couldn't find anything that matched up
BESTIALITY!!!
@@kittvskarrkr6074 There's no beastality at all... That's when you have sex with animals... Characters are meant to look aesthetically pleasing (not necessarily hot or sexy). That's it. It makes them more relatable. They literally have human characteristics but still appear like an animal. Case in point; why do you think people hated the remake? Zero emotion. They had no human connection to cling to, they were just animals. Think about it.
6:04 theres a theroy that zira killed simbas first born koppa thats why hes so over protective of her and thats why she was offering kovu
Ohh my goshhh…That makes sense…😰
In the dark song that is "(Not) One of Us" there's a line about them being deceived before, and it's not clear if this is just a reference to Scar (from the first movie) or something _else_ that could have happened between films.
6:37 agree. had a thing for Simba's smolder when I was younger, still hits the same now, with just a slight hint of concern.

I'M KIDDING,. ILOVE YOU KOVU!
Glad I'm not the only one lmao
Kovu is the reason I’ve chased mainly bad boys when I grew up lmao 🤣
Lion King is Hamlet. Lion King 2 is Romeo and Juliet.
Lion King 1 1/2 is Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead
I absolutely love this movie, it's my childhood, I'm not saying it's better that the first one, but I think it's a bit more rewatchable for me haha
And the songs are gold! (This is my first time hearing them in English tho) I grew up listening to them in Spanish haha
hahaha love that xD
Same here! Just not in Spanish but Danish xD
Same, it's always been my favorite out of the two (even if there're three now). The first one was just too dramatic for my little heart 🥺
Nuka may be annoying, but I feel bad for him. It’s hard when your mother loves a sibling more than she loves her other children. No doubt it played a part into why he’s so annoying - because he’s always trying to please her and he’s jealous of Kovu
Are you mad at welchy you know he's hate nuka and he want him to die
I suppose 20th century fox took a lesson from that and I guess that’s the reason why they made Zeke feel the same way towards Diego.
Wait, so has no woman ever told Welchy he's cute? I can't believe that.
But probably Nala is Scar's daughter
@@rubengomes901 I- no?
This sequel is so underrated. More people need to be talking about it.
“Deception” and “He Lives in You” are honestly 2 of my fav Disney songs
Unpopular opinion : I prefered the sequel to the original when I was young simply because I hated Mufasas's death. 🤣
Even more unpopular opinion… I preferred the sequel because I was way too obsessed with Kovu haha
@@lilliealsky2417
I made really bad fanart when I was younger of him as a human😭
@@Fun-K-Board SAME Kovu had us down bad 😭 I also partially blame Jason Marsden for that
@@southchild_
HIS VOICE WAS JUST SO GOOD I LITERALLY SQUEALED WHILE REWATCHING THIS MOVIE
@@Fun-K-Board YES HE IS LITERALLY MY VOICE ACTOR CRUSH BECAUSE OF THIS MOVIE
Fun facc about Nuka (Kovu's brother):
There was a cut line for him as his last words, "I finally got your attention didnt I?" It was kinda to cement how Nuka was supposed to be a tragic character never really getting the attention he needed from his mom
"Not One Of Us" is the best fcking song in this entire movie and even in my opinion beats some of the songs from the first movie. There is no changing my mind on this. I listen to that song at least once a week, it's on my go-to playlist 😂
Also, in terms of the Disney Princess list, I believe that animals cannot count. She is a princess that Disney created but is not a Disney Princess.
song is great to be fair
agree, such an awesome song. i love just busting out with “deceptionnn, disgraaace” whenever someone i’m with messes up. 😂
I can't argue about that song. So memorable!
I don't think they count the sequels. Melody is not considered a Disney Princess either.
For me, Simba will always be a Disney Prince. He's more a prince then Elsa is a "princess" haha
Welchy: is talking about hickeys on lions
Made my day😁😂👍🏻😁😂
Also best moment in the movie:
Nuka dies
Everybody: NO!
Welchy: YES!
😂😂😂😂
Nuka is the offspring of Zira and Scar. He is weak, so scar didn't claim him and made Zira have another kid who he could mold into Simba's Killer
I don't wanna believe kovu was adopted. He looks too much like scar.
Nuka: *dies*
Zira: NO!!
Welchy: YESS!!
I lost my shit hahahaha
Actually the background of Nuka is quite sad cause all he wanted was some of his mothers attention and admiration that’s why he put himself into danger by chasing simba. Of course he wasn’t my favorite character but he had some funny sequences like the one with the fire circle & I still shed a tear as he died because he felt the need to apologize to his mother cause he failed 😞
Calling Pumba and Timon Simba’s stepsons as if they didn’t literally raise him is so funny 😭😭
I forgot how good the art looks in this. So crisp and the colors are popping like mad.
I connected with this more than the original. Had kovu and kiara as a screen saver for like 5 different devices.
Just because you can't see blood doesn't mean its not brutal, like its a good thing the outsiders joined the pride since Simba must have lost like half of his pride in that fight
And I love Kovu and Kiara together, they're just adorable from the first meeting
I love this movie, definitely one of my favorite Disney movies, the favorite being the lion king of course ❤️ all the songs slaps but the song they sing when Kovu is exiled marked me as kid, for some reason I can't shake the feeling that someone is singing that to me and it have always made me cry
You should watch the third movie too, it’s basically a retelling of the first one but from another angle and it’s absolutely hilarious
Lmao, I found this entire video hilarious and amazing, especially when you were so hyped about Kovu’s brother dying, just your entire reaction was great I loved it.
Kovu is my favourite Disney character. I really love this sequel honestly - Romeo and Juliet but with a happier ending :)
It’s not Romeo & Juliet without both of them dying
@@fangirldreamer748 Romeo and Juliet isn't JUST about them dying. There's a whole plot before that
You know what's crazy? I just got finished watching your reaction to The Lion King yesterday and I was like, I hope he didn't forget about the second one. Lo and behold😂what a great surprise.
Heck, he didn't even know about the sequel lol. Glad he found out!
I hope he likes this movie well enough. It's not perfect but I've got a lot of nostalgia for it.
I love this movie soooo much! It's my favorite Disney sequel and one of my favorite Disney movies of all time!
I know this video is a bit old but this movie was literally my entire childhood
Even if I was hype fixated on both the first and second, I think I watched the Sequel the most out of the two, it was a comfort movie for me.
The songs are amazing in this film, i'm even practicing 2 of them to do song covers for, that is how much I love the music.
9:24 “This song slap definitely more than the first one.”
Hey, I kinda second that…! My siblings and I memorised My Lullaby far faster and sooner than we memorised Be Prepared - there’s something about it that’s more skin crawling, definitely one of my favourite underrated Disney villain songs
His friends who literally raised him from a cub, are equivalent to his step sons?! lol I get what you mean but also strange comparison I feel more like they are his best buds lol
They are more like Simba’s adopted dads
Zira's Lullaby is my favorite song and Vitani is my favorite character and basically I just love this movie, okay?!
17:26
Zira: NO!
Welchy: YESS😈
Made me laugh so hard
The rtime to wear black is definitely in the winter time!
I remember quite enjoying the soundtrack for this movie! Glad you did too!
17:27
"Nooooo!"
YEEEES!
I love that in that exact moment, realized he called it.
Both Hitler and Trump had their ignorant band of loyal followers, so it's not too hard to believe.
@@jessicaable5095 I guess? I'm just saying what I read from canon, hahah..
There are a lot of people very fond of red baseball caps in the US that could probably help explain it.
This movie was my childhood. At home, my dad and I would play around as Simba and Kiara.. Good ol' days.
It took me years to realise that this was a sequel and that a Lion King 1 even existed. But ever since I watched that, that first Lion King became my favourite
I actually love this film. The song my lullaby is much darker than be prepared and whenever it’s on I listen to it a couple of times on repeat
Yooooo im so glad youtube recommended you again. Somehow I forgot you existed and you are one of my favourite movie reactors, including Rival Reacts
Idk if you already have decided if you want to react to another series and if so, which one, but (apart from Legend Of Korra) might I suggest the Netflix show "Arcane" if you haven't seen it yet? It's based of League of Legends, but you have to know nothing about it. The series is absolutely ncredible, I'd love to see your reaction on it
I can’t believe I haven’t seen this video, this is my favorite movie and you are my favorite RUclips channel! I am so happy
I liked the first Lion King when I was little, but I genuinely loved this one and watched it on repeat!
This was one of the best sequels Disney has ever done hahaha
That's not saying a lot sense most of Disney sequels are trash
Back when they still tried.
I like the first movie ofc, it is iconic, but this sequel has a very special place in my childhood and I've watched so many more times than the first and I just love Kovu and Kiara together so much. Also adult Simba is just easy on the eyes lmao
Thanks for bettering the day!
I've never been relatively early for a video...

dude, you have NO idea how refreshing it is to get a nice piece of cold choc in summer!
Excellent film, and one of the few gems from this wacky, bizarre world of pooooooooooooooor quality Disney sequels.
Please watch Legend of Korra. you'll love it
so is korra good I like korra if you think of it as not a sequel but as a different avatar story than the last airbender
5:23 Welchy: What does he have that I don't have?
Me:... Mascarra.
I still randomly sing 🎶 deception, disgrace, he asked for trouble the moment he came🎶😂
Love this movie! One of the few toys I kept from childhood to this day is a stuffed Kovu cub.
Apparently, in the original cut of the movie, Zira was meant to willingly let go of the cliff and let herself die. Basically suicide, and you can see it when the frame cuts to the next, but it was censored.
It's really great seeing you react to something other than ATLA. I didn't grow up with ATLA and didn't want spoilers for when I do eventually watch it so I've had to avoid your videos for a while. Being back is nice ^_^
Zuka's desire to be loved by his mom hits home because all I wanted was to be appreciated by my stepmom but nope... never happened. Got abused instead. Anyway, love this movie as much as the original but the original is still better.
I can't believe you didn't know this existed it was my favorite movie growing up and still my favorite Disney movie til this day!!
This movie fucking slaps! Honestly, I enjoy the sequel more than the original 💯 not the greatest animation because it’s straight to video, but a fire soundtrack 🔥
same here, both are good but this one just perfection
True about the animation. But it's excellent for direct to video standards. Cruel to compare it to the first. But still pretty good.
10:39 More like he's their stepson, considering they met him as a little cub and practically raised him
some of these songs are my favourite disney songs ever, the daughter father song and the villain's lullaby are amazing.
Timon: "Do I need to define the term BABYSITTING!?!"
My favorite part of Lion King 2.
His scream from the screeching nails tho was me as a kid while watching that part lmao
I had a rough day this made it so much better :)
7:00 this song ALWAYS makes me cry,
"You will never be Mufasa".....This hurts me too idk why 😭
I actually just scheduled a tattoo appointment for a "He lives in you" tattoo in honor of my dad
Love this sequel! Also, you should definitely watch *Lion King 1 1/2* . It's Timon and Pumba's backstory. So funny and so underrated.
Also there is a TV show on Disney Junior which is kind of a sequel to The Lion King that doesn't involve their daughter it involves them having a son who is part of the lion guard which we never heard of in the movies
I think Nala does show up a few times. I haven't watched myself, but I enjoy hearing about the lore it adds to the Lion King universe.
the lion king was my absolute FAVORITE movie when i was a kid, and this movie was an extremely close contender, i watched it all the time. its been like 10 years since i've seen the sequel, and "we are one" still gives me full body goosebumps!!!
There is a tv series known as The Lion Guard that resolved around Simba’s younger son Kion (kye-on) that sets after Kiara and Kovu’s first encounter. Just in case you’re interested.
This 1 scene really got me when I first watched it and the line was this YOU WILL NEVER BE MUFASA! It really got me like omg!
I pity Nuka tbh. There's a deleted scene for his death where he tells his mother "I finally got your attention, didnt i?"
He grew up in a terrible environment, influenced just the same as Kovu was to be evil. All he really wanted was to make his mother proud because of her high expectations, but instead of picking the largest, oldest, strongest lion to follow the path to give his family a better life, she choose a pipsqueak like Kovu.
I cant really blame Nuka, even if he's prone to nag.
19:32 That voice belongs to Liz Callaway who did the singing for a lot of animated female characters during that time including Anastasia and Odette from Swan Princess.
