I've seen this on tv once ages ago and wondered what happened to this coaster. Now I finally know it never opened the public. This footage still amazes me.
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions I think their possibly could have been an edit in between the tunnel and the ending as we never see the train accend the lift.
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions Info on this ride is hard to find but I think that photo was just for promo purposes. I don't believe this thing ever ran with passengers up it's lift, but no one thought it ran with passengers at all so hopefully we'll get some more info someday.
I made a few films about scenic world and it’s orphan rocker rollercoaster. Scenic world lawyered up and demanded through there lawyers that I take 2 of my films down, so I agreed for now. I’m glad this original footage has come out publicly because until now there isn’t any actual footage of it running, myself and others were trying to find this video but never could 👏🏻
In all seriousness... this thing looks like a weird mashup of an Arrow and an Intamin. Intamin track design, with Intamin style of banking, with Arrow transitions.
The constant pacing, although not a high top speed, clearly had two spots of ejector airtime on top of the rocking. This would have been a lot of fun, especially due to the setting. When I was last there 23 years ago, it was still in good condition with hopes of opening. I had no idea when my ex took me to the park that a coaster existed and I got so excited when I saw it, only to find out it was SBNO lol.
2020 and it’s still not “fixed”!!😂😂 All fun and games in the video but WOW I didn’t know anyone actually rode this thing ever. He was inadvertently braver than he might realize! I heard a report, not certain if true, that when ride dummys (or might have been some type of test sand bags) were used to test it, one of the dummys the sandbag was missing when the train arrived back to the station. I find that very easy to believe actually! The coaster was never opened to the public due to safety issues is what I heard. Regardless of rumor or story, for CERTAIN the “transitions” etc on the ride are rough and very poorly designed to say the least!! Most coaster enthusiasts can tell by just looking that the design is extremely poor, it was designed in house not by a coaster company. Props though to a very creative effort. If designed correctly it would have been fantastic. What a location!!
We were told by a staff member at Scenic World, where this is, that they tested it with mannequins, but they all came back with no heads, so it wasn't deemed safe to open to the public!
It was one of the blue marble's 'bumpiest' yet 'greatest' coasters! We need to say thank you (so much) for offering us the passenger's view! Meaning I've just got to like this video!!! :*))
Would totally ride this if it ever opened (and I could visit Australia). Might break necks but it looked crazy. Either way, the concept is awesome, like a more intense, traditional version of the alpine coasters we see nowadays. Sad that the family never got to see it open.
"Nothing to fear but fear itself" yeah, that and unqualified Coaster development companies. -not to do with this Coaster in particular, but uh, we know who the true unqualified arr
The last sentence is not correct! It didn't go ahead because it did not meet the safety requirement inspection. The wheel bearings kept overheating/loosening which caused the cars to keep speeding up. I was one of the passengers on the day of testing.
Have gazed in wonder at this rusting relic over the years. Never commissioned for people to ride. The rumour goes that tests with sandbags resulted in them being ejected into the Jamison Valley 300 metres below.....
'Just For The Record'. It was an Australian afternoon show. The presenter is a comedian and acor called Garry Who. He is 68 years old now (in 2023) and still acting.
Good grief. How the hell did he stay in there??? No wonder it never happened. Looks hideous. But, what’s worse, is that the track still exists there. Tear the bloody thing down, it’s an eyesore!
This footage just seems terribly fake to me. Sped up and carefully edited to give the impression of a 'finished' ride. I doubt track layout on this coaster was ever completed
And little did he know. He was one of the only people to ever ride this ride.
He enjoyed the fuck outta it too. what could have been!
Wow! This is an amazing find! Thank you so much for sharing it! You are amazing! This is truly the Holy Grail of the Coaster Community.
Hey TPC
That was insane wish It did go through all the problems
@Matthew Schaub epic games
Hi Pete. Big fan
I came here from your video lol
Those transitions make Arrow transitions look genius
I've seen this on tv once ages ago and wondered what happened to this coaster. Now I finally know it never opened the public. This footage still amazes me.
Well.. this video puts the theory to rest that the train never made a complete circuit.
It puts to rest that it never ran with passengers, but we don't see it complete a full circuit in this video.
@@disownedpear actually right at the end, it completes it.
@@NorthEasternMotionProductions I think their possibly could have been an edit in between the tunnel and the ending as we never see the train accend the lift.
@@disownedpear oh yeah that’s a good point. Although then again, there’s a picture of the family who designed it leaving the tunnel.

I remember seeing this on TV as a kid and couldn't wait for it to open...still waiting. 🇦🇺

This looked like an intense AF coaster. Sucks it never opened to the public

"At least 6 months away from being open to the public...."
I mean...technically wasn't wrong...
Looks like an RTgame coaster
A rumble tumble coaster if you will
Lol
Not quite a blender
Theme park crazy gang lol

This thing must’ve pulled some crazy gs on the turns
Hell of a lot more than two.
Australian Jay Leno lol
Good to see this clip again after all those years.
Nice and I'm diggin their fashion and hair. he looks like Bruce Campbell and Jay Leno lol
Oh gee.. the old Corkscrew at Seaworld and the Thunderbolt at Dreamworld in the intro, that brings back memories, never even heard of this one
I’ve wanted to see this footage again for so long, have been searching for years! Saw it on tv as a kid
Next level backyard rollercoaster
Great find! I had no idea any footage of this existed, let alone a POV.
Thanks for sharing!

I hate tv presenters usually but this guy has earned my respect. He has displayed vast testicular fortitude AND a power mullet
The scream in the tunnel☠😂🤣😂
@3:39 This how I felt after watching this video LOL But I've gotta say what a fantastic Rollercoaster and an amazing find 👍
The top speed looks a lot faster than the 28mph that RCDB states! I know some of the clips were sped up, but still!
This looks out of control haha, somebody probably would have gotten thrown down the cliff eventually.
That looked ROUGH
This looks like something from Roller Coaster Tycoon

Does anyone have the uncropped 4:3 broadcast of this?
S&S might fix this and add their Axis trains. That would be amazingly crazy
It always felt like all they had to do was modify the trains and restraints and it would have been safe enough but maybe not
Holy shit that looks insane.
Togo transitions are somehow better, never thought I’d see it
These are some nice golden horse transitions
Just imagining the spiders that would make home in that tunnel… the orb weavers alone 🤯🤯🤯 fuck going through that ever…
The balls on this man…
I've been to the Blue Mountains, but I never saw this 😅
I did get to see it a number of times, always wondered about it, cool to see this!
Before the wake of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, there's this ''dangerous'' thing.

Shit looks like it pulled at least 3 lateral gs lmao and another -2gs on that little bunny hop

Negative heartline.
