@@Anonymous-iv1ne Seriously?! That was one of the best endings in Indian cinema. The bgm, cinematography, direction, performances, its inherently nostalgic feel in the rains. Come on!!!
Lol that's a stupid thing...70% of India lives in rural India....tamasha is only story of 1 in a 8 urban junkie who are frustrated with everything they have... Dil Chahta Hai not just changed lives but was a game changer for Bollywood entirely and it shaped future films. Audiences were instantly connected with the characters. Also, there are several films like Nightcrawler and before and post these films, where the bad guy wins. The most important aspect that I learnt from films was that, Movies are a medium of telling a story. Any story and anyone's story. It is we as an audience that should be willing to experience it.
Absolutely agree! Prisoners and then nightcrawler and then Southpaw. Ryan Gosling also who has done nothing but Great cinema and totally Let's himself become the character.
Yep, and his performances in Enemy and Nocturnal Animals were great though he had to play two distinctive characters... And I really enjoyed him in Everest and Demolition
RDB - It is not a movie, it is the mantra of my life. Lakshya - It is what remind me, why I need to keep my focus. Dil Chahta Hay - The movie that threw a shiver through my spine when it shifts into the credit at last. Emotionally crazy Extremely thankful for the list..
@@deepanshukaulphilip5676 I see a person who has nothing but self confidence and a will to do something big. He has sheer will. And that makes gives lots of hope that with confidence you can go to any hieghts. There is a movie called "business man" in telugu. There hero charecter is same as here . I also love it.
I am 18. I wasn't even born when Fight Club came out. But I watched it recently and it was amazing. I feel like Tyler Durden's critique of modern society is still relevant today. The quote that stuck with me was "The things you own end up owning you".
we may add dead poet society(1989), shawshank redemption(1994), rush(2013), udaan(2010), jodhaa Akbar(2008), aruvi(2016), rangasthalam(2018), sagara sangamam(1983) worth a watch sir
Thank you so much for the list! Good films truly educate us and motivate us a lot to change our thinking. I would like to add some of my personal favorites too : 1. Taare Zameen Par (That every child is special and unique in his/her own way, even if they are not good in studies. That we should understand and talk to those children who are disturbed and silent). 2. Million Dollar Baby (That age is just a number and you can achieve anything amidst any circumstances in life if you are patient, hardworking and determined). 3. The Imitation Game (That people who are labeled as someone who is good for nothing eventually becomes someone who creates, changes and saves the world).
Dil Chahta Hain set a benchmark for future coming of age films. It inspired many films in terms of script, screenplay, visual style, execution and acting economy like Kal Ho Na Ho, Lakshya, Wake Up Sid, etc.
The shawshank redemption October sky A beautiful mind The double (2013) The book thief Gifted Interstellar Moulin Rouge Some of the most rivetting movies, everyone should watch.
The book thief is actually a book to movie adaptation and i cant tell u in words the impact it had on me! I started seeing the world in a different light! Such a classic!
Jerry Maguire & The Dark Knight Triology has impacted me the most. Jerry Maguire made Renee Zelleweger a household name & Chicago was like another nail in the coffin for her.
You should watch Shawshank redemption if you haven't. It's one movie that has changed many lives. Pretty sure you might have, but don't know why it didn't make it to the list. The movie invokes HOPE in life, Which is all we want to live happily.

So I just appreciate that you are educating people about there is so much more to cinema than what we are seeing in Bollywood right now. And i watch every single of your RUclips videos
That moment of proudness when you've watched all the mentioned movies.😎😎😎 Bdw Jake Gyllenhaal is the most underrated actor ever. ENEMY NIGHTCRAWLER BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN ZODIAC DONNIE DARKO OCTOBER SKY PRISONERS SOUTHPAW are only a few names of some of his masterpieces.
I'd add: Jurassic Park, American Beauty, Memento, Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight (so bloody much beyond a comic-book adaptation), Black Friday, Kahaani (again, spoke volumes on so many themes beyond being just a gripping thriller, which it totally was) and Shanghai. Three more to this list: The Conversation, Lagaan, Maqbool.
I've been touched in some way or another by all the Hollywood movies that you've mentioned in your video except for 500 days of summer simple cause I haven't seen it. Now I definitely will. Out of all these movies, La La Land touched me the most.
Thanks for these words jammy. There is nothing powerful than crossing paths with a person you dearly loved and envisioned the future with. Life had you go separate ways and you bumped into each other only to acknowledge one another that everything turned out okay."
What a feeling it is when you get to know that all Bollywood movies mentioned above are already watched 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Thanks Jammy will start watching the Hollywood masterpieces as well.

I completely agree with your list. No question. Personally, I want to add Whiplash(2014) directed by Damien chazzale who later went on to direct La La Land(2016) and Drive(2011) directed by Nocholas Winding Reffn which personally changed me. And also The social Network(2010) which also really influenced me. It taught me, if you believe and perfect what you do..... You can change the world. And I absolutely adore David fincher and arin sorkin... Also trent reznoik and attikas ross. I can name another 1000 films but these three are the most relatable to me.

Very common favs... See Autumn in New York, Copenhagen, blue is the warmest color, remember me , the holiday, endless Love, love Rosie.. some Holly romantic movies..thrillers n foreign language r endless... Keep up the good work.
Lala land changed my taste in music, Birdman changed my views on films, and Satyajit Ray gave me the eyes to see films, real films. Most of the good Indian films are inspired by the work of Satyajit Ray, I hope you watch his films and give him the credit he deserves.

@sraboni 1234 Tom Hanks was legendary in FG but Aamir Khan and Advait Chandan will have their own version. Comparison isn't essential...both can be celebrated
@sraboni 1234 I understand the plagiarism you're talking about. T series being the pioneer of this remake culture...or Bollywood mostly...but in recent years I think there has been a decline in movie remakes or the reception of it... There have been remake films which 'Haven't worked' cause they ruined the original..there have been good remakes like Kabir Singh (although carbon copy but still upgraded technically) which have been received well...so it isn't like LSC is gonna work even if it ruins the original...and for people like u and me who have loved the first one, I guarantee that it's storyline is totally gonna be different...it's set in Indian history...like the Vietnam war can be 1965 Indo Pakistan war maybe...Laal could shake hands with Lal bahadur shastri...and even the babri issue is rumoured to be mentioned...that alone is interesting enough to buzz any history buff and not ruin the original and act as a standalone...and I'll still not compare actors or any artists...
@sraboni 1234 that was Tom Hank's take on it....and Aamir is going for masses...or more Indian version( even if it would be slightly Ott) and I'm damn sure the Tom Hank's version isn't gonna work in India...maybe people like u and me would admire it but Indian movie going audience is by majority massy...also the same people maybe even u would critize him for copying Tom Hank's version...

Your list includes 8 of my favourite movies and that makes me extremely happy. I feel validated for some reason. Thank you for sharing this. I think I will revisit a few of these in the days to come. ❤️

And many more. I love movies and I'm glad there are more and more people who consider them more than just mindless entertainment.
What's "way ahead of time" is what usually ages well.
I usually don't take movies seriously. But two movies I wanna mention that has changed my life... humshakals (watched full), soty 2 (less than a minute).
Now I'm more patient. Don't really care about anything happening around me😌. Coz I know nothing more could go wrong. Isse bura aur kya ho sakta hai be🥴

In my list I will include Wake up Sid also. The screenplay, the performance and the cinematography of showing Bombay was the best of it.
So you predict his life changing movie ?
@@jarisrulez 🤣🤣🤣💯💯💯👍
I think wake up sid's ending was not good. It should had shown a different ending
@@Anonymous-iv1ne ending was good although it was difficult to digest them as couple 😆
@@Anonymous-iv1ne Seriously?! That was one of the best endings in Indian cinema. The bgm, cinematography, direction, performances, its inherently nostalgic feel in the rains. Come on!!!
Jammy, I can completely see why Tamasha resonated with you. Lots of people relate to it. It's the story of 3 in 5 Indian people.
Bravo
Lol that's a stupid thing...70% of India lives in rural India....tamasha is only story of 1 in a 8 urban junkie who are frustrated with everything they have...
I feel tamasha is more liked by individuals who are or think they are loser in real life, tamasha is their escape route ....not everyone is sick of their life as your saying 3/5
@@abeylaale3700 What you are saying is a stupid thing. It's a fact that many people are leading a life not of their choice. That's why it found a resonance among a lot of youngsters. Of course it's not "everybody". That's why it has a "cult" following. Are you that dumb to not be able to make subtle distinctions?
Son of the Soil South asian people*
@@drogontheobliterator1251 I agree it resonated with a lots of youngster but 60% of people are suffering from same fate is a dumb remark...I mentioned 1/8 i.e. 12-13% may think so like this don't generalise it for everyone mate.... My comment was regarding that flawed statistics he gave
It is not his mistake, Checkout Jammy pants review of tamasha where he himself said it is reality of almost every indian youth whereas it is somewhat a problem with fraction of urban youth who have become tasteless gentleman despite leading a pretty decent life.
Jammy himself doesn't even know that most of india lives in rural India & has quite a different outlook from urban youth so generalizing it for whole youth is pure dumb.
I am criticising him for stating dumb facts
Checkout jammy pants tamasha Review you will he also stated this same flawed fact ....
U miss the movie that changed most of people lives.. THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION.

Absolutely agree!
Prisoners and then nightcrawler and then Southpaw.
Ryan Gosling also who has done nothing but Great cinema and totally Let's himself become the character.
Yep...he's underrated.
Southpaw & source code are my favrt.
I agree ...his potential is underutilized ,he deserves more recognition
Have u seen KAVAN starring vijay sethupathi?
Yep, and his performances in Enemy and Nocturnal Animals were great though he had to play two distinctive characters...
And I really enjoyed him in Everest and Demolition
Dil Chahta Hain, Lakshya, Swades, Yuva, Guru, Chak De India, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Wake Up Sid, Rocket Singh, Tamasha.

watch this bro.
I would like to add some of my personal favorites too :
The shawshank redemption
October sky
A beautiful mind
The double (2013)
The book thief
Gifted
Interstellar
Moulin Rouge
Some of the most rivetting movies, everyone should watch.
Gifted is a jem.. So do is The Blind Side...

Watch "I origin"
The book thief is actually a book to movie adaptation and i cant tell u in words the impact it had on me! I started seeing the world in a different light! Such a classic!
October sky.. "Dr vernerbraun is a great scientist, but he's not my hero" absolute tearjerker that scene 🥺
Swades is not a film, it's an emotion! Just love the movie!

Thanks for letting me know even movies also will change people's life . As a south Indian, my perception of movie is only entertainment.
Tamasha didn't belong here. Plain and simple. We never deserved it.
Why?
