The common fandom consensis is that the Amazing Digital Circus takes place in a glitchy computer game based around the aesthetics of the early 2000s
Caine and Bubble are AI created for the world while everyone else is a human trapped inside. That's why Caine was so confused about the exit and didn't know what to create behind it.
Also the gloinks took Zooble apart because their body is made up of seperate parts while everyone else has a solid model.

To answer your question at the end for more Digital Circus, there is going to be a total of 8 episodes that might be coming once the team of Glitch Productions and Gooseworks getting enough funding to make it a fleshed out series to watch on RUclips. 😄
So there be some competition with Helluva Boss, Murder Drone and Lackadaisy as those shows are RUclips Exclusive shows that are still growing fame up. So I hope you give Murder Drone and Lackadaisy a chance to watch and witness different Indie Animation shows with a outstanding cast and style of animation

Glitch Productions is an independent studio with the goal of creating shows for teens to fill in that gap(since a lot of shows nowadays are either for little kids or adults. Or kid shows that became for adults. Looking at you Bluey) as well as give a platform for independent animators to show their work.
Their first two shows, Meta Runner and Sunset Paradise were created by Glitch’s founders(the latter is canon to their other channel, SMG4, so if you ever watch that you might want to watch a couple Meggy arc episodes to understand it). Murder Drones was the first created by a different person, being Liam Vickers who has his own channel. Each episode costs 250 thousands dollars out of pocket and I highly recommend it as it’s a really good show. This one was created by the creator Gooseworx, and the next one being created is called Gaslight District

19:46 this is a joke from gooseworx’s animation “Little Runmo”, the main character gets eaten by an icky creature like that, and inside, there’s a rigged game show little runmo has to play.

So, about Caine, he is a non-human indeed. He, together with Bubble, are AI created for the world. So they're non-human. Neither of them are purposefully evil. They just don't understand humans. So when humans started showing up in their world, Caine tried his best to keep them functioning. To keep them sane (with his understanding of what sane is). But as he doesn't really know how humans work, he just kind of makes it worse sometimes.
Bc of this, you have the "exit" situation. He understands how badly everyone wants an exit, but doesn't understand the actual meaning behind their words. So he ends up attempting to create the closest thing to an exit he can make, but he just never finished that project.

I think it's mildly funny how he used they/them pronouns for all of them initially, EXCEPT for Zooble, (which he used she/her for) who canonically uses they/them LMAOOO

Something I didn't think about until now is that they are stuck there until someone either gets them out or the system crashes which could just erase their consciousness entirely??? I loved this reaction, especially because you normally have no clue what is going on but now its even worse .

Also on an unrelated note, Wilbur Soot quietly dropped a new solo album called Mammalian Sighing Reflex, it's gone under the radar for a lot of people so I thought i should suggest it here for a video since you seemed to like his last solo album Your City Gave Me Asthma which has a similar vibe.

Pomni stumbling into the Void reminded me of the surrealist 2009 Japanese movie _Symbol,_ in which a man finds himself in a mysterious white room. Looking for a way out, he discovers that the walls hide switches (which turn out to be cherubim, um, genitalia) each with a particular function. He has to discover and remember the location and function of each switch to escape his prison, but the moment he succeeds he regrets it. (It's on RUclips; I don't know if it has subtitles but one might not even need them as there's little dialog.)

Random place for a theory idea I know but what if "being abstracted" is actually what happens to characters after their mind disconnects from the ditigal character and they escape?
It's probably supposed to be that their mind just breaks completely but like, maybe that's only what the characters assume and it's really a result of the person being removed from the simualtion. Maybe being insane isn't good content so whatever force is producing the circus just lets them go?

If you look back at the hallway with everyone's doors, there's some characters with red X's who have also been abstracted. One of them being Queenie who is the Queen chess peice to Kinger, and there's a theory that that is why Kinger seems mentally unstable... which is really sad😢

Now this was funny to see. Also in case you wanna know what the hell Caine is, the creator confirmed on twitter that Caine is an AI within this digital world. One that isnt malspirited but just completely incabable of understanding human needs and desires. Same for the bubble.
Also yeah this show is created by someone called Gooseworx (who also voices the bubble). They also have some other animations on their own youtube channel like "Little Runmo", "Elain the bounty hunter" and its sequel "Elain gets adopted". They make the Amazing Digital circus look tame with how surreal and morbid they are. Also if you wonder why one of the characters asked if there was a gameshow inside the monsters belly well... you'll find your answer in those videos.

What you said at the end is so true! I've never seen a pilot and obsessed over it like this one before.
For example, did you notice in the hallway of doors with see another chess piece on a door but it's the Queen!? Only her face is crossed out so I assume she abstracted like the clown. But if she's the queen and Kinger is the king piece... does that mean he was trapped with his wife and she abstracted? Is that why he's so crazy? Cause he lost her?

The entire show just feels like a abridged version especially the blue screen eyes at the start when caine is showing pomni around and also to answer your question as to why the gloinks did not take jax i think it is cause he is like a single shape while zooble is just different shapes so zooble is probably easier to take compared to jax also if your confused about what caine was saying about making a exit it is cause he doesn't really know that the exit they want is to go back home to the real world what he thinks it is a door to a different area like the circus

came back to this after a month to tell you that you should totally react to some of the digital circus fansongs currently out. there's a lot of good ones like "the show that never ends" and "no exit" both by Longestsoloever and "anything can go" by CG5, but my favorite song is one that released not that long ago called "digital hallucination" by OR3O and it has the entire cast of the pilot singing in that song. it'd be really cool if you reacted to these songs but you don't have to if you don't want to

I see very little exstistential crisis in existing in a digital world, because we already exist in ours.
It'd be a little worrisome if they can't ever interact with the people they know irl, but they barely even remember their life before.
The idea of forgetting would be more terrifying if we saw what they're forgetting ourselves. But we have yet to see that. Maybe later? Anyway, im not going exstistential over this.
But I like the vibes.
I think in our world, there's the comfort of knowing all things eventually come to an end... there's also much more possibilities. But in the digital one? There's only so much you can do in a circus tent. If it's like most video games, then the world can't be very big. And existing there may possibly be truly forever- or at least, as long as you can go before becoming insane and abstracting...
Although, I can't argue being inside of a video game sounds pretty cool, regardless of the possible major downsides. Especially if you got to be something cool.
