The amount of pressure and expectation for an actress to play such a beloved and iconic character and yet she still managed to exceed even those expectations. Not to mention she had no prior experience to voice acting before this role. In some of her interviews you’ll even hear how much getting casted caused her to feel alot of imposter syndrome. But she persevered and put her full effort into this role and soldiered on. If that doesn’t define “showing a clear dedication to their craft”. Idk what does. Fully deserves the nomination and the win in my books. Also kudos to Squeenix for finding this woman. Casting department 100 percent knew what they were doing and believed in her even before she did.
Couldn't agree with you more. The whole cast killed it from top to bottom. But Briana's performance as Aerith recaptured my heart. (Aerith has had my heart since I first played the OG game in 1998). Bri has made this role her own like no other to where she is 100% MY Aerith.
Yeah I just can't imagine anyone one else as her EN VA. She really does put her heart into her role as Aerith and that shows in spades through her performances.
For me the answer is a solid yes. But beside the game award nomination, did you see that both her and cody won for best v.a at joystick awards this week? Thats such a treat for a clerith fan. The true main characters getting the atention they deserve
Considering Briana has received hate since Remake, for playing Aerith. And people trying to dig up dirt on her, because they hate Aerith. I think we all know why a good amount of people would be upset. Especially with all that NPTK trailer chaos. I saw some videos for the awards with Tifa in the thumb nail... Not even Cloud, just Tifa. And it's the same for new info/game updates for FF7 videos. Tifa in the thumb nail. like she's the main or only character in the game. The winners and nominees through out the years have been so mixed. Some more serious, some less serious, Some very little range or scenes, some more, etc. If people get more upset about Briana than all the previous winners and nominees, I think we all know why.
Honestly wish they made her role even bigger in Rebirth considering how prominent she was in Remake but I really hope she and all of the FFVII team sweep
Ughgh Neil was SOOO good with Astarion, he literally still brings Astarion out even in person, he IS Astarion. The same is for Bri, she's become Aerith. I always cry with Aerith scenes, but even when Bri speaks so enthusiastically and emotionally about her job and about Aerith, I get choked up. SO good. She really deserves best performance.

I did vote for Briana however I wouldn't mind if the voice actor for James from Silent Hill 2 Remake won, I also enjoyed his performance. Never played Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, and Life is Strange was good vocally but I don't picture her winning.

One of the most beloved characters in gaming that stuck with millions of people for decades portrayed wonderfully to the point that even the ultra-picky hardcore FF7 fans had 0 problems believing this was indeed Aerith. Yes, she does deserve it and hope she wins it. Silent Hill 2 James was great as well, strong performances this year all around.

The fact that Briana did her best to study her showed so well in Rebirth. She really went all out throughout the game. The last 3 chapters were just amazing!
Luke roberts has my vote because he was responsible for the mocap and all of james powerful facial expressions. Briana is my 2nd pick, though, and I would have no issues if she won.
