This conversation makes so much more sense after finishing the game. With the whole alternate timeline issue brought in, it’s like Aerith is telling him more than what just happened in this game, its like she was telling him about more of what happened before, before this timeline. As if she has lived this before, knowing Cloud does fall in love with her.
The one we see talk in the clouds in Aerith resolution is the future version of herself using a the LifeStream travel into the past and to warn her younger self of the future events will lead Extinction Humanity at the hands of Genova in year 500af

After seeing an iceberg of the franchise, seeing the alternate timelines and that vision that links up with the intro of the game, I think she saw some other realities or some shit lol

Clerith has been "MY" (cuz I can't speak for everyone) canon romance for almost 13 years and with the remake I get to savor their relationship in HD perfection. I hope the story will never change but if they really intend to do so, I wish Aerith's fate doesn't end on a sword but a chapter of her and Cloud's possible journey. As a original fan of the 1997 release after I witness her demise, there is not a day that I never cried when I hear Aerith's theme and wish I had some sort of power to change it, that's how hooked I am. The remake gave me a glimmer of hope that maybe we as a player and a fan can change something about this grief that tormented us for a long time, that was wishful thinking of course but I still feel that Aerith deserves to live, to be happy with friends and family maybe even with Cloud (for me) as her canon lover. This is all wishful thinking and I'd be glad either way but since I understood what the whispers represent, only time will tell if this wish of mine would be a possibility. Until then can't wait for Rebirth

I cried the first time I saw this cutscene in game, not even because of no Aerith and cloud but because of what Aerith said to cloud before not falling in love, it hit me hard as I have to embrace all the moments I had with my grandma and the last I will have of her remembering me due to her having Alzheimer’s, I was in tears for at least an hour and I actually had to pause the cutscene I was so torn up by it, sometimes relating to something can just hurt
I've been slowly playing the game, slowly savoring the story and the characters. I JUST made it to this scene a couple days ago and I sobbed through it. Not just because it came on the heels off the plate falling but because I've always loved Aerith and the tragedy of her story always guts me.
She tears down Clouds Barrier with 1 line : You CAN'T fall in love with me!! He can't accept that! Aerith was the 1 who got Cloud to grow as a person and connect with others and in doing so she knew where their friendship was heading towards. True cannon in my opinion : Aerith best girl and Bri you voiced her beautifully!! TY!!
Well she mainly said that because Cloud has Zack’s memories. Aeriths feelings maybe real but is cloud falling for her or is it Zack?
@@verde629 memories aren't the person, its not Clouds fault he feels that way. She's not just trying to protect him by saying that but she's also trying to save herself and the memory of Zack.
In the last line of an ancient race is a lady so grand, with love, kindness and compassion with flowers in her hand. With strength, poise and elegance and beauty that cant be beat, no wonder it has most guys including Cloud crawling to her feet. When i first laid eyes on Aerith i was stunned at what i saw, i was so awe-struck on the floor was my jaw.
I have theory on this part. Cloud in this video is talking to Aerith, but not the Aerith he met in the church eariler. This Aerith IMO is Omni Aerith in the life stream. I don't want to spoil Rebirth for anyone but when you finish that, come watch this again and you'll see what I mean.

The fact that Brianna looks like Aerith is stunning. This remake had some flaws. The absolute stellar voice cast drove it and made it awesome! Amazing
I like that she made the connection to life is strange because I’ve too. The option to save the one most important person you love-maybe in this game we get to see that. So we can see the love blossom between them the same way we did Chloe and Max.

Limitations of the PS4. Thankfully all texture problems were fixed for the PS5 version which will no doubt carry on for the inevitable PC release.
Just wanted to throw this out there from a fanatical fanfiction writing fan since 97', that all of these characters are war orphans in one way or another, who come together to make the world a better place for themselves and others, but also to heal the incredible scars each have. In the original cloud was just a writing device, he was just a tool to introduce the other main characters. He is literally a blank page, loss of memory, no opinions. The main characters give his personality Love, Hope -Aerith, family friendship- tifa, purpose , loyalty Barret, purpose, strength- Sephiroth, and soul, religion -Red 13. Cloud does not become a real character until he literally dies and resurrects. Still though, through this amazing story 20 yrs ago, there is still an incredible over arching theme of all them wanting, needing family and healing. You know, among my forum friends that wrote endlessly on just how good story is/was.... we questioned was it just us who got how powerful this epic tale was compared to other works of literature. I am glad to see millions and millions more fall in love with this story once again.
I keep having to flip back to the original game and this one and go "did she say that in the original story", and if she said that in the original, I totally missed it, and went entirely against her request. Now that I went past the part where she dies I wish I had listened to her. I just don't like Tifa on her wishy washy feelings toward cloud it makes it hard for me to go for her but its literally the only route the game will LET you.
It's crazy. I'm actually not that emotional in regards to movies, series or games and there are only really few that get me teary eyed but this game manages to do it. Maybe it's because I know what's supposed to happen, maybe it's because I have so many beautiful memories with the original game... I don't know the reason but this game makes me emotional af from time to time.

Hear something interesting away she talk to she talks like she's knowing him a lot longer than a few weeks and don't forget individual Final Fantasy 7 originally timeline she held captive in the Shinra building when she makes mention of being there is because in the future timeline they had to rescue her too as well when Barrett says he's going to go up and deal with the president the younger version of a herself warned Barrett not to cuz I because any withdrawal timeline that's how they got caught in the original timeline when they try to free her one who says everyone dies forsake each moment and cherish it if it's her last she's reference events that happened in the year 500af after the Final Fantasy 7 adventurist children storyline that takes place in the year 498 then the planet Gaia consumes everyone back in the LifeStream consumes all living humans back into the planet to repair the damage that the media had done and 580 after no living humans around only went 13 and his Cubs exist among other animals implants and without the balance of human life plants and animals Gaia is doomed there is no balance maintain the cycle of life it was Jenova's plan all along
I heard Briana played the OG at one point but I didn't see if she played the whole thing to know what Aerith's fate is?
She has said she knows. She said as soon as it was publicly announced that she was Aerith, she was bombarded with messages from people telling her about it. She was spoiled on Aerith's fate almost immediately, before playing either of the games.

First time I met Aerith she seemed to be a little unmature and annoying compared to Tifa, but Briana showed me why this character is so important for the whole story and since then I like her even more than Tifa. Grat turn of events. And brilliant job doing the voicover for this character - love to see how Briana gets emotional, especially for the first time she played as her own character.
Omg im so sad, i just finished the story line but it didnt show me this part, its a talk with the mom instead.
i wonder if its because of different dress on Don Corneo, so therefore the different story line on some scenes
Did you talk to Tifa instead? If you didn't speak to neither, maybe you're not at that part yet? You sleep at Aerith's home twice in the game.
@@OpheliaFantasy idr, i remember beeing there when Aerith was here and i had to avoid making noises, and the time when she was kidnapped and Marlene was sleeping, i talked with the mom and had a story line instead, i dont think i saw Aerith in my dream that night

I am, to this day, confused by tifa saying they all can feel her. Like, just the previous day she was insisting they don't save her. Then this morning she's like "we can feel her calling to us". I love tifa, but found this moment kind of weird for her character

@@djslw0114 this Aerith is different. She has foreseen her own fate, and is equally aware of Cloud's broken mind. That is why she teases him about who he thinks he is, but greets his sincerity with warmth

@@papapapa16 it has nothing to do with Zack. Cloud only got his achievements from Zack. The things they experienced together. Cloud's feelings are his own. The Ultimania said that Cloud doesn't accept that he can't love her as she said because he admits his feelings are his own, and they are real.

According to the Ultimania, her expression contradicts to what she is saying. In other words, she wants Cloud to fall in love with her, but in order to protect him from breaking in, she said that.
Well since Zack is alive, Aerith and Zack can still be together and Cloud and Tifa can be together too. Even Aerith says that Cloud's feelings wouldn't be real since this version of Aerith already knows the other future events and she knows that Cloud confuses himself with Zack. If Cloud and Aerith were a couple, what would happen to Zack and Tifa? I don't see them dating each other but that's just me. Anyhow, it's fun to think about sometimes but I am not as....passionate about ships as certain other peeps

Nah, the only part where cloud think he is Zack is the part where he is first class soldier. Nothing more and less. If not then why he didn't recognize aerith when they first met? Cloud didn't even recognize Zack's parents, and both Zack and cloud have different personalities. People want cloud and tifa to be Canon yet in Advent children their relationship doesn't really progress since cloud still haven't move on.
This scene didn't do it for me (not that it's a bad scene on its own) compared to the Tifa one. Like Aerith talks about all their memories, but it's only been a few days. Cloud and Tifa have years of shared trauma and it only grew.
Its because This Aerith, is from a different timeline. The one who died and she observed Cloud during Advent Children. She warns him, cause he will suffer a lot. He didnt even stop grieving for Aerith in Advent Children. If you played the original and watched Advent Children, you know that Cloud not only has a deep sadness in him, but also guilt and broken heart. Sure Cloud and Tifa fucked at one point, but that dosent mean he love Tifa like he did with Aerith. The Song Hollow from the Remake is about Cloud from the timeline where Aerith is death and he hings his feelings for her.

That's because this Aerith is eluding to her fate in the original FF7, of course new players wouldn't get hit as hard by it, cause they don't have the context for it. It takes on a whole new meaning once you have that context though
Years of SHARED trauma? No, they don't. They have trauma, but were never friends and never shared it with each other. They never spoke to each other as kids besides the promise, then he left, or even now 5 years later as adults until Tifa finally pieces it together in the Lifestream with Cloud. So, Tifa has known Cloud for only a day or so longer than Aerith which isn't much and they still don't even talk about anything in the past until that moment.
Tifa brought up Aerith in her cutscene because Cloud would've never brought her flowers in the first place and has realized Cloud is changing. She talks about her pain and goes to cry on him while he takes forever and a day to finally hug her, completely out of it.
With Aerith, she is telling Cloud how much she appreciates HIM even if it's only been a short time together. She knows she doesn't have much longer, so why wouldn't she cherish these moments with him? She's on a damn timer for life and still worries about Cloud, anyway. She knows she's going to die! How is that not impactful that her main concern is Cloud, not herself. She's not encouraging him to stop it from happening. She's telling Cloud to protect himself from the pain. Cloud doesn't even HESITATE to reach for Aerith who is pushing him away.

right, it doesnt really that deep if we play the original, but for those who never plays the original it just feels so really really deep tho because they are feeling the bonds of the characters for the first time and so into it
