Resarching this movie, the article (Wiki?) mention it was not a major motion picture, but was done for some sort TV/internet broadcast. The production values were extremely high with excellent casting and performaces! Lead actor Anthony LaPaglia had a strong resemblance to the real Frank Nitti.
Never knew about this film until a couple years ago. Iconically the actor Anthony LaPalia played Frank Nitti and later played Al Capone in a deleted scene from Road to Perdition film
Thank you for sharing this excellent movie, which I've not seen previously. La Paglia was very, very good, and interestingly made Frank Nitti seem a smart and honourable man within a dishonourable industry. I will now have to research Nitti's life and see how the movie compares with the facts.

Sadly, the factual basis of this fun film begins and ends with the list of credits. Mr. LaPaglia is certainly an actor who is invariably a delight to watch in all his roles which I've had the pleasure to see. Bravo!
actually this movie had alot of the facts in place, way more than the untouchables, mayor cermak was aligned with the irish mob and put a hit out on nitti and it went down the same way it did in the movie, him and his wife tried to have kids later on in life and had to end up adopting, cermak was killed during a plot on the president, nitti did kill himself in exact way it happened on the movie the big differences is that him and al grew up together back in newyork, and al was the younger mascot to his nitti and his older brothers gang, alcapone went to prison first for 2 years then nitti went for 2 years then al went back for 11, basically the movie had all the facts but just put them in different places

Both my parents were born in "29" my mother in Chicago. My grandmother told me many times how Al Capone would come into the Van De Camps she worked at! In the 20s. Always kind and gave her flowers. She also said Al or a as she (Put it) a friend would tell my grandfather to take a day off! You see he was a (Movie theater usher) and they had business to do!
There ' s a deep battle between his strong faith and the violent world he's living in. I can't understand why the kind priest didn't continue the conversation and answer Nikky the question he had asked to him. Nikky was desperate: he actually wanted to find out !

BTW, the real Frank Nitti organised the hit on Edward 'Fast Eddie' O'Hare, father of US Medal Of Honor Winner, Butch O'Hare, (O'Hare Airport). Fast Eddie was found shot with Rosary Beads in his pocket. The Rosary Beads appeared in the second last, church scene in the movie. The writer must have read the original story.

I am not sure the details, but she wanted Frank who was her Uncle to adopted her. I think he wanted to, but her father wouldn’t allow it, she said. She cries still to him taking his life, so do I.
I used to have this on VHS in 91 great movie true stories especially the end they did have a meeting like that and wanted Frank N to take the fall but idk if Paul was the one who checked Frank like that
