Love this film..YES it's a made-for-TV flick. And no it wasn't actually filmed in New York, it was Pittsburgh standing in for NYC (other than the establishing skyline shots)
I didn't know this existed till just now. I was 10yo when this came out . This is a gem find . Don't care for the "who's the boss" Tony Danza bc that's all I see. He makes it feel like a lifetime movie
I originally watched this for Tony danza , Dan Laura ( wonder years ) had no idea that Ted Levine ( looking Fine !!!!) monk , joyride , heat was in this movie til last yr .
Still have the original TV broadcast on VHS tape under it's original title "Dead and Alive: The Race For Gus Farace"...It's been repackaged & re-released under several different titles
Heartbreaking...knew him in our early teens .Always smiling, laughing and joking. Such an outgoing personality. Every girl in school had a crush on him. 😢❤ RIP Gus Prayers and blessings sent to Hatcher family, even though years later
Having fun and a trip down memory lane watching all 12 of In the Line of Duty movies on RUclips that were originally aired on NBC between 1988 & 1997. Most of them appear to have had different titles for the DVD releases.
I can't believe this movie was this good and I'd never seen it. I loved this movie but it took me on an emotional rollercoaster because I love Tony Danza so much but then he went and killed Samuel L. Jackson and made me hate him.
"New York, New York It's My Kind of Town" is about New York's landscape. Every place is mentioned, and now the comments...: 53:36 Bobby had a heart. And this Tony Danza character Gus, the one Danza plays, is a doofus. He's a funny character even when juxtaposed against the violent, severe nature of the risk involved and deadly outcomes. At some point, just before the cuffing of Aby, there's this crazy-sounding music 56:08 that fits more for a cartoon than a severe police drama. I couldn't help but see Gus and nothing other than the guy in a comedy TV series played by Tony Danza as himself. Gus the Icon. By the way, I admire the guy. The best part of the movie for me was when the Assassins arrived; they were similar in height and dressed to kill. Hahaha.A lot of interesting characters. There is a Vinnie in the movie. In mob films, always there's a "Vinnie." Gus is putting the squeeze on him. I take a light-hearted approach because it seems routine about how bad things happen to good people, even if he kills someone. Such is life in our country, after all. Gus, born "Italian," has a lust for life, limited cash, and opportunity, so things go wrong. Drum roll, please.
Had no idea ted Levine ( stotlemeyer) was in this movie .i originally watched for tony danza being a bad boy , nicholas turturro ( john turturro brother ) .

I am sure this is an older film, but I am somewhat surprised that with all our technology, law enforcement under cover agents were wearing a wire even in a film.
Not a waste of time. Good story, good acting. A few impossibilities about who and where there are, but still good. Tiny was tarnished by taxi, even if it was a good show, it gave hima stigma. He's a great actor that got screwed. I would have never expected one of the bigger stars to be killed first. Lol. But I guess he wasn't big then.
Damn... I dont know was this one a good or not. Here in Finland it was 06.30 (i think in america they use AM in the end of it) - and sure, i fell asleep because first i fed my cats and they piled up on my chest so the "purrrrring"- sound works like a sleeping pill. Plus my Maine Coon weights 40lb. so yes, two cats can pile up on a 250lb 6'3" guy and now i'm flipping a coin should i watch this one again or what.

Tony Danza always does his best … and he plays some heavy characters 👏👏👏💯
Wow can't believe I had never seen this one before.
I do remember the real crime being in the News back then...
It's all classic,
I didn't realize Danza was that 💪💯
Me either - he looks hot !
He was FIONE!
I think he use to be a Golden Gloves Boxer before becoming an actor and now he's a Math Teacher I do believe. I still enjoy watching Who's the Boss.
The real Gus was a body builder, 6’4 260 pounds, so Tony had to bulk up for the role
Good actors in this one! I love true crime stories!
Great movie thank you.. Good Italian actors.. ❤ It 👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👏👏👏👏👏🎥This was simple but a classic one!!
Interesting movie..the mob really don't mess about 😮😮😮😅😅

Tony Danza was outstanding as a dramatic actor in this film. Really enjoyed it when it was on tv back in the day. Thanks for uploading it here.
Plus, Tony Danza has all those Oscars.
Never saw this movie, watching now excellent acting.
This one was really good. Can’t beat real true crime movies!
Shot in Pittsburgh in Highland park. I was the news camera guy in white pants. 😎
