Clapton owned a 1950's Gibson Byrdland, natural color. He used it in concert at the first show of George Harrison's Concerts for Bangladesh at MSG in NYC in 1971. The only other time I know that he used this Byrdland was in 1986 at Chuck Berry's 60th. Birthday Bash Concert, which was filmed and released as "Hail! Hail! Rock and Roll". This was a special project with Keith Richards as the mistro in charge, who had a twin Byrdland to Clapton's own. Chuck Berry played his signature Cherry Red Gibson 335(possible a 339) Other guitars were used in this two concert celebration for Berry's Birthday Bash. Clapton and Richards did use Strats, which ones I don't know. Other members of the band were Berry's long time piano player Johnnie Johnson, Chuck Leavell on organ(long time session keyboardist and member of the Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule, Clapton, George Harrison and David Gilmore)Steve Jordan on drums(he replaced Charlie Watts after his death in the Rolling Stones),Joey Spampinato playing a White Danelectro Long Horn Bass in these concerts(founding member of NRBQ) Guest guitarist Robert Cray and Saxophones Bobby Keys(long time Rolling Stones sideman) Vocalist Etta James, other Vocalist/Backup Vocalist on different songs were Ingrid Berry - Chuck's daughter, Julian Lennon and Linda Ronstadt. If you don't know what style a Gibson Byrdland is, Chuck Berry originally used one when he started in the early '50s before switching to a 339 in the late '50s. Byrdland is also the main guitar of Ted Nugent, usually black but I've seen him use a white one and a dark - burst one. In the film documentary 'It Might Get Loud', one of the guitars Jimmy Page uses is a natural blond Gibson Byrdland, with this info on the Byrdland you'll get an idea what a Byrdland looks like. I was lucky to be at that both shows of 'The Concert for Bangladesh' back in '71. Great show overall, really the very first benefit concert of it's kind, it raised funds and awareness to the plight of the Bangladesh People devastating flooding due to seasonal Monsoons. If you haven't heard of it, find it on line or buy a DVD, Besides Harrison and Clapton the All -Star Band consists of Ringo, Leon Russell, Billy Preston, Jessie Ed Davis, Jim Keltner, Klaus Voormann, Badfinger and Ravi Shankar who was the one who brought this disaster of Bangladesh to George Harrison's attention. The two co-produced the concerts and the triple - album and film that followed. Shankar also opened up both concerts with Indian Music. 🙏 ....Also a very special and surprise guest showed up, Bob Dylan. Dylan hadn't really been heard of for a few years not since a motorcycle accident almost killed him outside of the village of Woodstock, N.Y. in 1968. Dylan did classic Dylan from the early to mid sixties period. Some solo acoustic and others accompanied by George Harrison on guitar and Leon Russell on bass, and no one else. Great Concert, Try And Find It, Worth The Hunting For. 🙏
P.S. on the Bangladesh Concerts, the previous two nights Stephen Stills performed at MSG, when Stills heard Harrison and an All - Star Band were going to do shows at MSG right after Stills. Stills offered his equipment as in lighting, sound system and staging so to help Harrison from going about getting these things. Harrison and Friends were overwhelmed with the offer. But one thing happened or didn't happen, Stills was there backstage but was not offered a slot to perform(Stills was 'Pissed - Off' to say the least) Ringo picks up this story saying he didn't blame Stills for being 'Pissed - Off' and doesn't know why Harrison or anyone else including himself just simply ask, "What About Stills"? Stills never saw the concert he stayed in Ringo's backstage dressing room getting drunk. It is what it is or was, but WTF happened??? Stills offers up and gives his staging, sound system and lighting and not 'one' spot to perform in the show? Love Harrison's music and everybody else's music, but come on, that was more than a little "COLD - BLOODED"!!!!! But it's the plus' and minus' of Rock & Roll....🎭
Funny that you did not mention the Explorer. He paid 5 grand for it - bought at Alex Music, NYC. The owner of the shop was "crowing" that he got the best of him on that deal. We now know different.
Correction: The Fool had nothing to do with John Lennon's Roll-Royce repaint. They did, however, paint the entire outside of the Beatles' venture Apple Boutique in London.

My favorites are Eric’s grey Fender Strat with EMG pickups and flame maple neck and his red Gibson 335.
Wouldn’t that be Fender Lace Sensors?

Ohh, that's actually a big mistake - my bad. So easy to check too, should've done that before publishing.
No mention of the cherry 335??
It is mentioned at the end.
I often wonder if Eric has played or owned an Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster ? 🎸✨
Do srv please😢
The moment you mispronuced Pete Towns End's name i stopped watching
That's 12 minutes and 42 seconds in, I cannot even be mad. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the video though.
Is the voiceover AI?
It's not, why? I used AI in the past, and now I pay an actual person, but a lot of people still think it's AI - I'm confused. 😄
Ruined that guitar
