- Updates..since I've been terrible updating things as I move along, here's the skinny..
Original Utah truck, 390, Edelbrock intake/carb, headers, NP435 with a Gear Vendor Overdrive, brakes and suspension all rebuilt, new driveline, Wheel Vintiques wheels, custom built stainless 31 gal tank, new glass, bumpers and fresh paint (Seapine Green/Wimbledon White), doors all rebuilt, late model OBS seat (way more comfy), recored Desert Cooler radiator, Flowcooler water pump..
This thing was pretty rough when we got it but I needed something heavy duty to make the HD and dump runs..
I didn't set out to restore this thing but just clean it up..painted it in the garage, not much left really...like to reupholster the seat this year and tint the windows..maybe at some point go through the 390 and warm it up..
Great old truck
Nice truck
Beautiful truck mate, love that shiny back bumper!
Nice truck ! I had an F100 Explorer of that same year. It was a good riding truck.
Love the Halloween touch. Imo, I would tint the glass and run white letters out. Damn nice ride
Thanks...it's on the list for this coming spring..
I'm digging the halloween pic, love this beautiful girl. Judging by your flag, thank you for your service
73' is the only year w 4screws holding the taillamps. I like the 76' grille inserts....
Very true, most people don't know about the 4 screw tail lamp lenses in '73..when I bought the truck the grill shell and inserts were all smashed up. I got the grill and inserts locally and that's what the guy gave me. I like them as well, thanks!

Is fuel consumption too high?
I'm curious about these camper specials with the rear axle moved farther back on the frame. I've even owned one but it was a parts rig only & have since sold it. It was a mess. But not all camper specials are like this? Are there only a few yrs of this or was this a special thing to only some camper specials??
Beautiful truck by the way.
Jesse, I don't think they all are a mess though some of them have lived a harder than normal life for sure. 73-79 is the year range, they had their own heavy duty frame and the rails are pulled in like a HighBoy. They didn't track numbers in 73 but from 74-79 anywhere from roughly 1400 to 3500 or so built per year. The Super Camper Special was it's own entity in those years though I think they dropped the "Super" in 77(don't quote me) and it became just "Camper Special". They are fairly unique though some parts are just non-existent. I lucked out and though mine was pretty ragged it had very little rust, so only replaced the drivers floor and one cab corner.
@@RoadRacer68 I dint mean all of them were a mess. Lol! I meant just the one I owned. I bought a built 390 from a guy & it was in that truck & the only way he would sell me the engine was if I took the entire truck but had to promise it would never be driven on the road. And it wasn't! Lol! It was indeed a super camper special frame & all but he had built it into a 4x4. When u turned one direction the pitman arm to the steering box would hit the leaf string suspension he had cobled up underneath. When I say mess, I mean mess mess! But just that one. Lol!
Your side marker lights are reversed
Yeah I was toying with the look...they're back to normal now.
You noticed that, I didn't, but I see that it has the 76 grill, not 73
