As I sit here listening to your tips on taking full advantage of first look on the real real I am recognizing the dedication and passion for the hunt and a good bargain and I kinda feel like I’m looking into a mirror. ☺️. Needless to say, I am really loving your vids.
Yikes...my heart would be in my mouth if I were sitting there constantly refreshing the page, desperately hoping that someone is going to release it from their cart! it reminds me of when I first started using eBay in the late 90's and I'd wait until the last 30 seconds of an auction and BAM.......put my bid in 10 seconds before the end....haha! This was way back before you could put in an advanced bid, etc.
An epic video indeed! Thank you for creating it. I love your monogram Speedy and I hope that one day you paint it. The project would make an amazing series of videos if you decide to film it. You are right about paying a little more to get an item in good condition. I bought a Speedy at rock bottom price but spent as much getting it renovated. Because the idea of rescuing an old and dying bag appealed to me, I am glad that I did it, no regrets, but only once. If I did it again, that would be a mistake. Have a fabulous weekend!
Hi Autumn, I just wanted to add that The Real Real offers payments through Affirm, which allows you to pay monthly with very low (or no) interest. I have only made one purchase there, but I was able to get a Tiffany key pendant and 36 inch chain for about $200. I like to pay cash when I buy things and that day I was trying to justify if I needed to spend money on a necklace, but when I saw that Affirm was an option, I jumped on it. Of course, I could have used a credit card, but I pay my cards off at the end of the month and again, I didn’t want to put out the money. So, that option worked well for me and would make me choose to shop there over some other sites.
Someone requested me do a video sort of like this. Would you mind if when I do my video (tips on finding and buying your first LV bag) I link and mention this video, please? Thank you.
This is such a great video Autumn! You get such wonderful deals, and these are very useful tips and tricks. I have never paid for TheRealReal sneak peaks, but I'm considering it now. I need to check whether I can turn it on and off at will. I'm just not sure that it would save me enough money to make it worth my while. xoxo
I to this day, regret not purchasing a speedy 25 that was being sold at a local consignment for a steal! I will never hold back on a steal like that ever again.
LOL! I love the way your eyes sparkle when you talk bargains! I've seen your closet tour (which was great), but have you done a video on space-saving ways to store handbags and other luxury goods? I live in an apartment, like you, and I'm not overflowing with storage space. I do not want to pay to rent a storage locker. Besides, the mental challenge of storing my collection while still enjoying a tidy home is a rewarding and ongoing personal challenge. Got any ideas? :-)
I love Rebag !! They have three stores in Manhattan with phenomenal selections and service. I go on their site and they always seem to have a very large inventory . Thank you for your insight.
You have a really nice collection. I have actually purchased some of the same pieces after seeing yours. You’re costing me money, Autumn! 🤣🤣🤣 But I heart my new bags. ❤️
RealReal does not allow handbag returns. Fashionphile does. Important to consider. With Tradesy you have to dig your heels in if you want your money back, because they only offer site credit.
Yes patience is the key, and some luck also. I scored $150 rosalie wallet, $150 NM pochette accessoires, $250 beaubourg, and $125 Monceau 26, all in brand new condition, even my 87’ monceau show no sign of wear
All your tips are wonderful these are things that I've had to learn along the way one I did not hear about was poshmark if you know what you're looking for in a bag and the purchases over $500 they will do authenticity on it for free
Awesome tips as always Autumn ,I have something in my cart right now from Rebag ,just not sure I really want it yet ,I have the same style in a different color ,I’m trying to decide if I just want it cause it’s rare or because I will really use it and if it goes with my aesthetic ! When I’m unsure I wait and see if I’m still wanting it a few weeks later ,if it’s gone , it wasn’t meant to be ! Thanks for sharing these awesome tips ! 🥰🥰
I love this video! I’ve used TheRealReal before, but usually I only shop NWT (new with tags) as they’re not super with photos and more than once I’ve I’ve ended up getting lemons because the description wasn’t accurate. Both of these times were for Final Sale items, but I emailed customer service and sent along photos within 10 min of the item arriving at my door and luckily I was able to return each piece. But then I saw my returns back up on the site! And I was like 🙈. So my go to for pre-loved is Yoogi’s Closet, only had wonderful experiences with them...just had an item arrive from them today! And it’s phenomenal!
I agree with all of these !! My favorite pre loved retailers are Rebag, Fashionphile, and the Real Real. So far, I've had good experiences ❤️👍 Treadeasy im a bit skeptical like you are.
I just purchased a Speedy 25 bandolier in Damier Azur from Fashionphile.. it’s in almost new condition. It even came with the box!! I shop on fashionphile often but I do notice the prices on the items I want are almost retail/ even more! I’m super happy with the purchase though ❤️
If you ever come upon another pen case, hook a sister up! LOL I lack patience..that is my problem. You are the best deal finder, I don't think it is my nature to find deals LOL I have never shopped with The Real Real, I will need to start looking on there too. I really do like Fashionphile, but you are right they go wayyy above retail on so many items! Great tips Autumn!
Hahaha. After I said I was being patient looking for a LV agenda MM I just bought one on The Real Real. What the heck? 🤣😉I was looking for the Monogram but a very good Damier Graphite MM popped up and was 20% off so I just PTT (pull the trigger]. I made sure to check the return policy. Autumn, you may or may not be a bad influence on me. 💕💕
I found some good bargains on eBay from Japanese sellers. They have to be licensed by the police department in Japan to sell pre-loved goods. The U.S. dollar goes further there. Try to establish a relationship with a seller that you like there, and then you might be able to get more bargains.
Girlfriend! I need to talk to you about this new obsession of mine, now.... #thankyaverymuch LOL! I just found a wallet and a pair of Prada sneakers for a steal! TheRealReal is awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for another very informative video My one and only experience with The Real Real ended up having to return a Louis Vuitton Drouot because it had an awful musty smell they did not disclose. Luckily they took it back but I am hesitant to purchase from them again. And as we all know their photos are awful and the descriptions are minimal. I stick with Fashionphile only now but I may check out The Real Real again. I am on the hunt for a good LV agenda MM and just not finding it. I am being patient. 💕
I found a Drouot on the Reetzy's FB page. Is in pretty good condition for it's age (19) and am gonna take it to the cobbler so they can either stain the vachetta darker or get the spill on the bottom a little cleaner. Perfect bag for me. Love crossbodys and it doesn't bulge out like the speed or the alma.
Mary305 I agree! you know exactly what your are getting. They are not trying to show the bag in any better light than it is. In a way they talk their bags down which is different from other resellers. Japanese sellers are trustworthy and I have really good shopping experience from them on eBay.
Love your videos! This one very informative! One question though...you did NOT mention return policy...I hear The Real Real’s is TERRIBLE & Fashionphile’s is great ...can you speak to that? Thank you! ❤️👜👜👜❤️
The return policy for TRR isn’t great and both times I’ve needed to return it was for a final sale item, both times the items were in AWFUL shape, and luckily I was able to take it up with CS and return them. But it’s always a toss of the dice.
Just a note on “accessoires” - you can pronounce the “x” sound that the “cc” make. So it’s more like “Access-wahr” (the “a” at the beginning rhyming with “cat”). No big deal, just a friendly French speaker giving unsolicited advice! Lol 👍🏻
What great tips! I dont usually buy preloved but I have dipped my toes in that market recently when I got my alma bb in pink epi leather in great condition, amd a vintage Lambskin purse from the 80’s I. Great condition except that makeup had spilled inside, which is like a woc but no card slots so it’s a bit bigger thankfully. The Lambskin is so much thicker than my Lambskin jumbo which I bought new last year. What a difference in quality! The preloved market really is awesome! There is a woman I follow on IG who restores old LV bags amd has shown how she cleans them and she gets the vachetta so clean amd back to that pretty honey color. Her IG is authentic_lvoe. She sells the restored bags but I believe she will also restores for others.
I love Yoogi’s Closet

I only found you today. I’m so glad I did this is my 2nd video and plan to watch many more. Thanks again I’m learning a lot. ❤
Glad you're enjoying the videos!

Beautiful collection Autumn!
You're a good teacher, Autumn. Happy Valentine's Day💘💝
Good tips. Thank you, Autumn.

Dawn Loves Couture I’ve used Affirm too. I always end up paying it off early.
Love your videos! Xx

Ashley Cordero I have the same regret but it was an Alma! I still think about it and it was 15 years ago haha. Never again!
I like Yoogi’s Closet too for preloved. Great tips!

Hi Autumn. Love your shirt. TJ Maxx? Great video. I learned a lot.
BagsComeAndBagsGo I have the same shirt or something very similar from Target! :)

I just did the refresh hack on coachoutlet b/c i had a wallet in my cart wasn't paying attention, lost it, started refreshing and got it back.
I got a GREAT deal on an LV Palermo PM on The Real Real. It was a final sale and $700, and I got an additional 20% off. I’m an educator 👩🏾🏫 too!
Always check the cases at thrift stores or consignment shops. I haven't seen LV myself but my MIL found a speedy once.

@@rockalleta It’s such a cute crossbody. I hope the cobbler can work magic on your vachetta. 💕I will keep hunting for just the right one.
I found Japan sellers on Ebay have great deals. Vintage Louis Vuitton.
