I'm a hair designer in Las Vegas and ppl ask me all the time how I afford my luxury handbags. I think its rude when ppl ask and they all think I'm spoiled.. I work hard for all of my things. I'm an envelope saver. I label an envelope with the name of the item I'm working towards.. I usually add up how much per day I need to put in it to have the bag by a special day or holiday.. birthday or Christmas.. then I just put the extra $40 a day or whatever amount it is in there. I'm pretty blessed to be able to make cash daily to do this. Sometimes I have an extra good day and I'll throw an extra $100 in it. I hate when ppl say I'm spoiled because it takes willpower to save money. I don't think ppl should judge .. it's all about what's important to you:)
Ugh, tell me about it. I worked parttime in college to help pay for school (I was fortunate to be a nanny which paid WELL) and what money I had left over after helping pay my tuition and food/books I decided to treat myself to a briefcase. It was about $700 from Coach. Nothing super high end, just all leather and classic, b/c I was in school for business. I knew I would enter the corporate world and wanted a nice briefcase or two to carry to work. The looks I get sometimes, people just ASSUME my rich parents mustive bought me these items. How would a 23 y/o analyst fresh out of college afford that? Or worse, they think I'm irresponsible and spend my paycheck on frivolities and don't contribute to my 401k or savings. annoying.
Honii, that's such a great idea for saving up for a bag, especially in your situation where you get paid daily. It does take a lot of willpower, for sure. Congratulations to you for being able to do it!
galemoy, that's something that still sometimes concerns me in real life...that people I know will think my bags are a frivolous expense. In a sense, they are, but so many people make assumptions about people who carry/wear/drive designer items without taking time to understand the reasons people enjoy these things. The reality and the assumptions don't often align.
Honii Buonsante and taxes too, don't forget an envelope for taxes! Lol Great system. And I think it's great if you want to share your system but totally agree it's rude when ppl ask how you afford all your items! That's your business and I would tell them that!
Another way to save is a tip I learned from my daughter. It's called "don't spend the 5's." Every time I get a $5.00 bill back in change, I put it in a special place. You never miss it and you will be floored how fast they add up.💲
I love how you’re so helpful and are based in reality. You’re not just on YT just showing off your stuff like almost every other luxury good chanel does!
I never had LV in the past. I was always a Coach person because I was always thrifty. I an a Registered nurse for 30 years and been always wise on my spending habits. Until recently when a friend of mine ran away from an abusive husband. She have her 2 boys with her and starting to live independently from him. She sold her Belmont and Neverful to me in June and last week. She needed the money to start her life. The money from the bags help her to buy her car and down payment for her apartment. I did some overtime so I can buy her purses. Now I find myself looking at purses in Real Real, Tradesy and Poshmark. Now I'm hook.
I’ve bought and sold from FASHIONPHILE and Yoogi’s closet for many many years always had good experience with them. Fashionphile can lowball you when you’re selling but yogis closet is a class act
Hi Autumn! This video is really helpful!! I am also a child free teacher who loves LV and who rents an apartment. Are you still approaching saving for luxury the same way these days? Would love to watch an updated video on this topic if you have one 🌸
A few years ago I broke down how much me and my boyfriend were spending on eating out (entress, apps, a glass or two of wine) then I figured out the same meals at home (including a nice bottle of wine) The difference was staggering. My current boyfriend and I eat out now maybe once a week and it is more of a treat. Plus, you can know what is going into your food. Great tips throughout this whole video love.
Darcy L so interesting how its such an everyday thing to go out in the US! Here in the Netherlands, we go out to dinner maybe once a month, if that already! We always eat at home! It's hard to do in the US though.... so many food places!
Thank you for this video. I know many people consider it rude to ask about or talk about finances, and I wish it wasn't so, because I love talking about finances. I think our society actually suffers because there's so much secrecy over finances. I'm a budgeter (YNAB and this particular one really helps with the issue you mentioned about spending little bits here and there) and so really appreciate the magic of a budget. Instead of a 'it's none of your business' reply to 'how do you afford that', I appreciate that you gave an 'I budget' answer. Every dollar you don't spend on Y, you can spend on X, but you can't have everything (unless you're wealthy), and budgets really clarify your priorities. Yours are your bags, and I'm glad you get to enjoy them and share them with us.
These are great tips in general for anyone looking to purchase anything. I do a lot of them already but thank you for sharing and being open and honest about it! ❤️
I agree on the car decision. Cars depreciate anyway and recently with Covid and wfh I got rid of my luxury car and I’m thinking of getting a newish simple car cash.
Its So crazy. When I was in middle school (Circa 2007) I remember my sister going into LV and being a small neverfull and I want to say it was like 700 bucks IN THE STORE. Speedy 25 was around the same price, maybe 50 bucks more. Now they both retail for over 1000. These yearly price increases REALLY add up, haha. Also, Queen, Just know that we REALLY appreciate you talking about prices. Its SO HELPFUL to those of us who are new to the preloved market. I know it makes you uncomfortable, but absolutely no judgement from me!
I agree about the prices. The most frustrating thing about that for me is when you're trying to save or budget for an item and it suddenly goes up or if you know it will go up so you feel like you have to buy it now rather than taking a longer time to save. At least the last LV increase wasn't that much. Chanel on the other hand...
I am a lot like you, I hardly ever pay full price for anything except getting my nails done, lol!! I have purchased a few bags from Japan and all I needed to do was clean them and they’re great and the shipping was rocket fast, like 3-4 days! I will always love pre loved bags! How nice of you to talk about your personal finances and how you buy things and you kinda justified my reasoning for buying luxury items, lol!! Thanks for sharing
Hi! Love your videos! I am a teacher too that likes luxury items. I was wondering if you give yourself a monthly budget for shopping? Or how you set your limits? Thanks!
Autumn Beckman I purchased a discontinued item that I’ve always liked- the LV looping GM. I also made sure to save the seller. They have a lot of other pieces I’m interested in.
Great advice and I agree. I previously volunteered for a local all cat shelter on a regular basis. I found I got more happiness spending time helping the cats than spending money on luxury. I wasn’t getting paid for time, but I also wasn’t spending money on things. I find little changes can add up big time. For example, I now spend about $60 every two months on Nespresso pods, but living in Seattle where coffee is a part of daily life I would easily spend that in a few weeks getting Starbucks daily.
Exactly. I've been surprised at how many people make assumptions about people who carry designer bags...as if it's the only thing we care about and don't do any good in the world. Thank you. :)
Hi Autumn, I really enjoyed this video! I'm a lot older than you & I am an accountant, so I already do a lot of the things that you do. I agree with almost everything you do, except for paying rent. I understand that the maintenance of a home can be quite expensive, but you are actually paying for the mortgage, and maintenance, plus other costs of owning a home to your landlord. There is no better investment, except owning your own business, than real estate. If you don't want the expense of maintaining a home, a condominium might be a better choice, as the Association will repair and replace all of the exterior items like roofs, painting, plumbing, landscaping, etc., for a monthly maintenance fee. I could not afford to rent my home for the amount that I pay monthly for my mortgage and there are ways to accelerate paying off a mortgage a lot sooner without paying more monthly. As for property taxes, I look at that expense as payment for my children's education, as a lot of those taxes goes to the public schools. Like you, I rarely pay full price for anything and I never purchase brand new cars. I just started buying designer handbags, previously owned, but I don't consider them investments. Like you, I try to educate myself regarding current prices and I shop for the best quality that I can afford. Your videos have been a great resource for me in purchasing resale bags. Thank you for making this video.
I hear you and agree that real estate is a great investment in many parts of the country but owning a home isn't right for us in Houston. In my experience, appraisals and taxes can vary wildly from year to year. Neighborhoods also change drastically over a few years and property values fluctuate due to that. The biggest issue in Houston, though, is flooding. We are notorious for flooding and everything is under construction so we never know what will flood next (Hurricane Harvey being a prime example ). It doesn't matter if you're in a poor neighborhood or a multi million dollar one, the flooding doesn't discriminate. In our 3rd floor apartment we have no worries. Everything we own is elevated, including our vehicles. If the roof leaks and needs to be repaired or replaced, the management company takes care of it. If the A/C unit needs to be replaced, the management company takes care of it. They do our landscaping, painting, electrical, plumbing, and even replace light bulbs and air filters. We don't have to pay HOA fees or deal with the micromanagement that often accompanies them and we have a gym, pool, conference room, and other amenities included in our rent. If the neighborhood goes downhill or we decide to relocate or our financial situation changes unexpectedly we can move without the hassle of selling a house. I definitely appreciate the information and I'm sure it's a fantastic option for many people, it's just not right for us.
Yeah, I don't know anything about real estate in Texas, but it sounds like you do. We get some flooding here in Florida too, especially with hurricanes, but not like I've seen where you are. We have a lot of condo's on the Atlantic, and buildings have collapsed from flooding, damaging higher floors, and the insurance wouldn't pay, because they opted not to carry flood insurance. Regarding the comment above, yes you can get hit with special assessments for emergency repairs, normally roofs, and things like that are budgeted in reserves, or financed and added to the monthly maintenance fee. Regardless of whether you rent or own, we pay for it. I agree that HOA'S & COA's can have some people that are difficult to deal with, but you get that wherever you live. Just as you recommend with handbags, you have to know the market, & research the area before you purchase. I'm not criticizing anyone's choices, there are pro's & con's with everything, but I do believe that there is not many better investments than real estate. You are planning for your retirement & you spend your money carefully. Also, you don't have children to care for, so your lifestyle is a little different. Renting works for you & your lifestyle. Your videos have educated me regarding purchasing luxury items, especially the latest one, New vs Pre-owned. Thanks for making them.
i had a friend who just moved back to alabama from the Houston area and he warned me when I was purchasing (in alabama) about the varying appraisals. Fortunately I am not in an area with those problems and our property taxes are very low in Alabama. When I was getting ready to purchase I got discouraged because saving up a down payment to help with a better loan payment was daunting (I got lucky with a first time homebuyer loan program.). Anyway, there were many times that I thought about how much my apartment rental got me that I now have to cover on my own with my house. I have so many small repairs needed at my house now that i could have easily called maintenance for at the old place. I have yet to call the two, maybe three different repairmen. Anyway, long story to say we do each have to decide where to put our finances and you sound like you watch out for the budget well. I am thrifty but I am not good at saving up for specific things. I like to buy things a lot rather than buy really high end things just a little. I prefer changing styles too much. Anyway, long rambling story to share. I have watched a few of your videos and found them quite interesting even though an expensive purse to me is one over 50 bucks! my girlfriends bought me a nice Patricia Nash leather purse for my 40th birthday. It is nowhere near luxury buy very nice compared to what I usually buy. I also do most of my shopping at Ross and TJ Maxx!
I second this! I also love ibotta. I get cash back at the grocery store and some places like Poshmark only use that (they don't work with ebates, mr. rebates, etc.)
I do. Just started a few months ago have earned a few dollars but I don't shop their online partners enough to make anything significant. Still, a few extra dollars here and there...I'll take it!
Yup I totally get how you can afford them, at the point when you say you have no kids 🙂 a lot goes to my two kids therefore I am nowhere near you in my collections. Got to put them down the priority list! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! I agree, it's about how you prioritize your spending and research and being patient for the right deals makes such a difference! Thanks for sharing :)
Good points! Especially, for just regular working folks. Sometimes if I’m shopping, I’ll put items in my cart and walk around the store with it and then decide if I really want/need it. I feel like I owned it for that little while and now I don’t need it!! Have you shopped Neiman’s LastCall? Good deals and their NM brand is very nice.
That's a good strategy with the shopping cart. I do it sometimes, too, but it can be a little too tempting. I have shopped at Last Call. I have some of their SLGs and have purchased Coach loafers there.
Very honest and open video! Thx. I think we all have to make financial decisions based on our lifestyles and what works best for us. For me, I prefer a nice luxury vehicle. So I do drive a Mercedes. For clothes, I do shop at the same places you shop. and I do eat out...alot LOL, but like you I do not have children. I also prefereed to be a home owner, so I bought a home. I am just now getting into luxury goods, but my collection is nowhere near yours. Most of my bags are on the lower end like Kate Spade, Michael Kors, Tory Burch etc., however I too am deliberate. My first LV was a Speedy 30. The next will be a neverfull. I don't want all LV just some key pieces.
I hope I didn't make it sound like I am against luxury vehicles. If I was wealthier I'd have one, for sure, but since my funds are limited I prefer a less pricey car for the reasons I mentioned. Yes, just as you're describing we all have different priorities based on our different lifestyles and it doesn't mean one person's priorities are more or less valid than someone else's. I wish more people realized that and weren't so judgmental.
Autumn I recently found your channel I love how you explain everything so open and honest. I also am a teacher who’s on a budget. I hear what your saying about how you don’t spend money on certain things I do the same thing . Louis Vuitton is my favorite also. I like hearing your view on all things Louis Vuitton . I also budget my money for the important things I’m saving for the desk planner now. I’m glad I found this channel
I think you are spot on about how much $$ goes towards kids, mortgage, car payments, etc. In NY a nanny cost about $20/hr, if you need childcare for just 8hrs/day , that’s about $3200! That’s pretty much a handbag per month 😭😭😭
I afford luxury in a similar fashion. I don’t have an income so resale value is everything for me. I have a set amount of money to spend, so reselling is a big part of how I can afford to keep buying. Thanks for sharing! 💗
Have you ever paid luxury brands with a credit card ? What I did is pay one third or half of it. Then pay a few bucks for a couple of weeks then pay above minimum once a week so I could save.
Good idea. I try to stay away from credit cards because I got sucked into them when I was a poor college student and had trouble paying them off. They can really get away from you if you don't have a disciplined strategy like you have.
I'm happy you talked about Affirm. I was going to use it for a purchase, but stopped because it asks for your bank passwords. That scared me, but it's good to hear it's a legit option.
Autumn Beckman absolutely! The first time I watched your videos, I knew deep down exactly what your bird was - when I heard the bird noises :) Hello from Ft Worth!! :) keep the videos coming. I’ve collected Coach purses, not so much in the luxury purse market, but I do love them.
Watching your videos for the past few weeks have inspired me to buy my first ever LV (and first high luxury) bag - they should sponsor you! ;) I've ordered an Alma BB in Platinum! Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the entertainment, Christina xx
On the strength of this video, I’ve subscribed to your channel. You’re keeping it real and honest to what you buy new or pre-loved. I’ll be a budget luxury purchaser. Thank you for all the information. I look forward to your future tips and videos 👍🏽
Do you often stop in the LV store or the department stores that carry the luxury brands to find what will be your next purchase. So that you can actually see how they feel and look on you ? And thank you for sharing your saving tips
I sometimes go in to look at items if they're on display but if I know I won't be buying in the store then I (typically) won't ask to see an item because I don't want to waste the sales associate's time. RUclips is my primary source for research. :)
I have a question and you might be able to answer it. Is there a photo history of Louis Vuitton bags somewhere? I purchased what I believe to be an authentic vintage Louis Vuitton at Goodwill for under $25. It was priced at $29.95 and with my 20% senior discount they took $6 off so I paid under $25 and there is no tax because they are a nonprofit. I am trying to find one like it to get an idea of how much it is worth. It meets all inspection points as authentic and was pre-date stamped. It looks like the "Monogram Pallas Wallet Cerise" from the front except the entire bag is Monogram and does not have any red on it. However, the back is different as it has an attached zipper closure wallet with card slots and it comes with the strap like a crossbody bag. I purchased it specifically to sell. I just need information about the bag so I know for certain that it is authentic and what price point is appropriate. Thank You so much in advance for any help you might be able to provide.
Congratulations on your score! The closest thing I know of to what you're talking about is a coffee table book called Louis Vuitton City Bags. It's almost like a catalog of bags but it doesn't cover everything so I don't know if yours will be in there. You can find it on the LV website or Amazon.
Great video. I’m a teacher too in Los Angeles. I teach high school. Wondering if you carry your Vuitton to work? Pre pandemic I carried a few slgs but this pst year in remote, I got a Neverfull. Maybe it’s silly, but I am wondering whether or not to carry since we move to hybrid soon. I do want to! I just have some reservations about how others might view this.
I am so glad that you went to college and made your own way. I love that you treat yourself. I would say that it's your life you do you..however I wished you guys would reconsider buying a home. Maybe someday huh? :) It would be a great investment. Imagine the equity you could put into your house, versus paying rent. I was the first to graduate college in my immediate family. My husband and I paid our own way. We paid for our own wedding, we did it ourselves. I like to treat myself. I don't buy luxury handbag's but I do like to travel so we do that. Congratulations on enjoying your life.
Awesome tips, Autumn! Thanks for the helpful info. I seem to have the same perspectives as you. Completely feeling the example of coming home from shopping & explaining to the boyfriend how much you didn’t buy. I do the same exact thing with mine! Lol :)
I’ve signed up for most of the bag websites listed... but it looks like Louis Vuitton is a brand I can’t use a coupon code. Are there certain times where you are able to use them on luxury classified items?
Autumn Beckman ahh ok. I’m totally hooked. I’m trying to figure out which sites allow you to use the codes for LV I’m still on the hunt. I’m in love with Azur print . But I’m terrified of color transfer... I know I will buy a new bag, but I can’t make up my mind now. Lol I am hooked. I’m so glad I have a choice of a few LV stores in DFW. But I’m also on the hunt via the pre-loved market for bags too... I have warned the husband... Keep up the good work.
Excellent topic and advice! The only thing I would add that it’s really not easy to sell these items since there are so many scammers - it’s like swimming through shark infested waters. Also, you lose percentages to resellers, PayPal, and eBay and there are shipping and insurance costs when selling items. Unless one is able to get things on incredible sales or unless an item is a coveted item (which can change with fashion trends), it is not easy to make money consistently with reselling. For the most part, I’m lucky if I don’t lose hundreds of dollars and can sell my items without losing money. It’s very rare that I make a profit on a sale and if I do, it’s only about a hundred or just a little more. So, these items, in my opinion, are not ‘investments’ - there are better ways to invest and save money than luxury handbags. When I see incredible deals on resellers’ sites or on eBay, the first thing I think of is, ‘wow, someone is losing a lot of money at these prices particularly if they bought it new and probably even if they bought it used.’ I’d have to get these items at an incredible deal to break even or make money. Autumn, I have the exact mentality as you when trying not to spend money :-). You should see all the money I save by not buying everything I want! Hahahaha!
OMG, I used Affirm to buy 1) My Purple Mattress and 2) my Burrow sofa. Both of which I paid my sofa off in 6 months and my Sofa in 3 months with 0 interest.
Hey Autumn, as usual I love your video. I have never been majorly into high end brands but since watching you I have decided to check out The Real Real site (UK) version and have found a couple of Tiffany pieces I like. One is a handbag and the other an agenda case which I am really wanting to buy. Have you ever thought about maybe doing a detailed video on shopping on this and similar sites? Like maybe a walk through, tips, how to spot bad quality or fake pics, things to look out for ect? If you have done this already do you reckon you could link me the video please? Much love - Becki 😀❤️
I haven't thought about doing that. I feel like I'd need to show screenshots of the websites as I navigate them and I don't know how. TRR has a very pretty Tiffany agenda cover that went up yesterday.
Autumn Beckman that makes sense, I’m not sure how to do that either. Maybe you’ve seen the one I found, it’s in the Tiffany Blue colour, sad though as although I went to the UK version of the site it says that it can only be shipped to the US and Canada. So I’m going to have to bypass that and maybe just go for the bag. The bag is final sale and non returnable which is a bit scary though. I wish when you choose your country they only show you what is available to you as I was so excited about it but now a bit sad lol. Thanks again for the awesome uploads, you always help me chill after a crappy day.
I’ve been luxury shopping on a dime for decades. Other great sources are thrift stores and sites like Craigslist, Facebook Market Place, etc... not just for clothing and accessories, but also for high end luxury pieces for your home, etc. For example, I bought a Pottery Barn sectional that retails for over 12K for only $800. As for vehicles, you can get a very low mileage luxury vehicle for less than a regular vehicle. I bought a very low mileage BMW with all leather interior which costs over 50K for 17K+tax. The luxury vehicle goes with the luxury bags. You may want to consider it for your next auto purchase. BTW - I also have the same flowers you have in the background...from the HomeGoods Store (TJMaxx). 👍
I've been putting her on the balcony more often. The neighbors are enjoying whistling with her. She still seems a little afraid to be out there when I first take her. Not sure why.
Hello I love your videos, specially this one , on how you educate us, thanks to you I discovered the pre loved market and I love it because i'm saving so much money. And that way I can get more stuff . Thx a lot for all of educational videos .
Thank you. :) Regarding the comment you left me about the bag...I recommend you check the links under this video for my favorite places to buy preloved. I'm not familiar enough with the item to know what a good price would be for it but search these places. Be careful with places like ebay, Tradesy, and Poshmark where there are individual sellers. You're more likely to find fakes there but you might also find an excellent deal on an authentic item.
Hast du eine Versicherung für deine Taschen abgeschlossen? Isn't it a safety risk to go out on the street with these bags? Do you carry designer bags every day?
I wouldn't do a video about it because my channel isn't about travel but I just do a lot of research and comparison shopping to find the best deals on airfare and hotels.
Lol I don’t mind Vincent making noise I think it’s cute and makes the video a lil comical! Lol great tips!!! I like Ross and DDS Bc they will have designer bags on the low! Not sure if they are all real but still cool to afford them there
I have been scared to purchase even Coach bags from other than in store. How do you purchase at Ebay and etc and KNOW you getting authentic? I am so afraid of spending money that I am not sure will be for the real thing.... HELP
I'm still wary of it but I've heard good things from several people I trust about sellers from Japan so I've been more open to the idea. I've been happy with the two purchases I've made so far.
Love, loved this video. I usually buy from the FB groups but I will explore the other sites. I also use the PayPal credit card. You might enjoy it too. Love, love your videos
I grew up working in Credit it is a great thing if you don’t abuse it I charge every thing on my Discover card and pay my balance off every month so I get Discover dollars I can credit my account and now that I use my PC to pay I save on postage otherwise your advice is great especially for the young
Yes to the Japanese ebay! I've been hearing good stuff about them and finally pulled the trigger getting the LV Cabaret vernis bag for an amazing deal (and in great condition for a bag that's released in 2001). I never thought I'd be drawn to LV or own an LV bag, not until I saw a youtuber reviewed this less popular style and I kept coming back to it! decided to hunt it specifically from Japanese sellers and I'm very pleased with the quality! So happy that this style is the first LV bag I own!
It's great that you're happy with paying rent and have a good landlord... that's... pretty uncommon though. Plus, with a mortgage payment you're paying off an asset whereas with rent you're paying off someone else's asset. I would really examine whether rent is substantially cheaper than a mortgage in your area because if they're at all comparable, you're better off paying a mortgage in the long run. But then, you say you put a lot into your retirement so that's a good long term strategy too. Different strokes, different folks and all that.
I know a lot of people feel the way you do. I am very happy renting. There's not much I want less than owning a house. From my perspective a house is only an asset once you decide to sell it. Otherwise it's a money pit. With rent there are no unexpected expenses, no upkeep, no roofs to replace, air conditioners, heaters, water heaters, plumbing, landscaping, electrical...I could go on. It seems to me that most people don't take into account those expenses when considering the cost of a home. Seems like most only consider buying price vs selling price. And there's the fact that you don't own the home, the bank does, until the mortgage is paid off in 30 years. And neighborhoods can change a LOT in that time. The homes in the part of Houston where I live cost millions, not because they're mansions but because that's what home prices are like in central Houston. To find something I could afford I'd have to commute an hour and a half twice a day, which I've done before and will never do again. Plus, in this city the chances of your home flooding at some point, even multiple times, is pretty high. More and more people are renting in Houston for these reasons. People are priced out of home ownership, don't want to commute, and don't want to deal with flooding.
Oh, and taxes! No one ever seems to consider taxes when talking about the real cost of a home. I posted a video today about a typical neighborhood in Houston and was reminded of this.
Thank you for sharing your strategy, very simple and disciplined, goal and reward at the end.
Another way to save is a tip I learned from my daughter. It's called "don't spend the 5's." Every time I get a $5.00 bill back in change, I put it in a special place. You never miss it and you will be floored how fast they add up.💲
Great idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
I love how you’re so helpful and are based in reality. You’re not just on YT just showing off your stuff like almost every other luxury good chanel does!
Thank you.
"You should see the amount of things I didn't buy!!" Hahaha 😂 you're so funny. That'll be my new tagline to get my SO off my back.
:)
I've never left a comment, but, I'm dying at Vincent being afraid of heights :)
Kay Huddleston Hehe totally.
I love the bird in the background. And the dogs too. I think it's lovely and it's you. Your life. It's authentic.
Yes, knowing what's in your food is critical. Thank you. :)
Glad to meet a woman who is Real! Thank you so much for you being you! I look forward to watching you more!
LOVE this video. THANK YOU.
"If you don't have to save... Good I want your life"... I laughed so hard. ^^
Thank you for doing this Autumn!!!! Very helpful
Thank you. :)
Hi! Love your videos! I am a teacher too that likes luxury items. I was wondering if you give yourself a monthly budget for shopping? Or how you set your limits? Thanks!
I don't mind Vincent making noise. I love birds 😁
Thank you. :)
Your bird is afraid of heights 😂... you’re the cutest thing on RUclips! And who doesn’t love Vincent?!
Thank you. :)
I just made my first purchase from a Japanese seller. The bag was in great condition, and shipping was super quick. It literally came in 4 days!
Wow! I'm glad to hear you had such a good experience.
Autumn Beckman I purchased a discontinued item that I’ve always liked- the LV looping GM. I also made sure to save the seller. They have a lot of other pieces I’m interested in.
I just discovered you on RUclips. I have just started buying luxury bags and I also am on a budget so your video was so relatable.
Loved this video. You are so intelligent and make such sense. Thanks.
my parrot makes so much noise as well ! thank you for your video
Love this video... interesting.. The hubs was on the other couch and told me to use your tips! Thanks for sharing!!
He doesn't tune out the handbag videos like my boyfriend does? :)
Thank you. :)
You’re welcome. Thank you for sharing your tips and experience.
HOA fees go up and at times they will hit you with another fee for say water lines that burst, codos are not that great of a deal
Homeownership is not for everyone. I admire people who are self aware of that like you. There’s nothing wrong with choosing to rent. Great video.
Love your videos. Super informative. I would like to learn more on spotting fakes before I make my first vintage LV purchase, any recommendations?
I'm a new subscriber. You are so relatable and your speech is impeccable. I have a lot of catching up to do on your vids. 👍💖
Really really enjoyed this video! Love your honesty! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you. :)
Autumn, do you use Ebates? If not, you should really check them out, especially if you spend money online shopping.
I love ebates
I second this! I also love ibotta. I get cash back at the grocery store and some places like Poshmark only use that (they don't work with ebates, mr. rebates, etc.)
Yes I’ve learned to use Ebates now too after I earned my first check. Ebates is worth it!
Thanks for doing this. I learned a lot and I will definitely apply some of these tips to my own spending habits.
Thank you. :)
Great video! I agree, it's about how you prioritize your spending and research and being patient for the right deals makes such a difference! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you. :)
Thank you Autumn for sharing these tips I’m looking forward to buying my first lv. You’re channel has helped me so much already ❤️
I hope you meet your first LV soon. :)
So awesome, Autumn!! You hit it all perfectly.
Thank you. :)
Thank you for this video. It is very helpful. Just a quick question: I have heard about Japan as well. Which sites do you recommend?
Thank you very much Autumn ! Going to check out the listed websites.
Thank you. :)
A great explanation of how to find the courage to buy your first handbag, financing and the quality found in pre-loved bags.
Very comprehensive video. Lot's of good info. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you. :)
Wow!
Very helpful vid! Thanks Autumn!
Thank you. :)
I afford luxury in a similar fashion. I don’t have an income so resale value is everything for me. I have a set amount of money to spend, so reselling is a big part of how I can afford to keep buying. Thanks for sharing! 💗
I find your process very interesting and appreciate that you share it with us. I've learned a lot from you.
Hi autumn, thank you for sharing your story. And I admire how you save up for luxury items.
Thank you.
They can really get away from you if you don't have a disciplined strategy like you have.
bernadette cao has been an update on this game
Very informative video! Just curious as to what platform you found best for selling your designer items you no longer need?
What links have you used from the Japan?
I'm happy you talked about Affirm. I was going to use it for a purchase, but stopped because it asks for your bank passwords. That scared me, but it's good to hear it's a legit option.
Yes, they are a great option.
Thank you for your sharing Autumn, Very helpful!
We have an African gray!! His name is prince and he is 35 years old :)
My Vincent (pretty sure she's a girl) is 17 now. Say hello to Prince for us. :)
This video was great. Smart shopping. Lots of information that is very helpful to know. Have a great weekend.
Thank you. :)
The links are the most useful ! Thanks for a well made video.
I’m just getting into lux. Your videos are informative. Did you ever do a video on buying preloved...Especially LV?
Great video 👍Thank you so much.
I enjoy all of them 🤗
Thank you. :)
Great video. Have you sold anything yet?
It's been a while since I watched this. Did I talk about selling something? Refresh my memory and then I can answer your question.
Autumn Beckman haha no you didn't but you talked about investment and I was just curious :)
This was so helpful! Thank you! I love your bird btw😉~Jen
Thank you. :)
Watching your videos for the past few weeks have inspired me to buy my first ever LV (and first high luxury) bag - they should sponsor you! ;) I've ordered an Alma BB in Platinum! Can't wait to get it! Thanks for the entertainment, Christina xx
Congratulations!!! That's so exciting!
Vincent is good with me and great video!
Thank you. :)
On the strength of this video, I’ve subscribed to your channel. You’re keeping it real and honest to what you buy new or pre-loved. I’ll be a budget luxury purchaser. Thank you for all the information. I look forward to your future tips and videos 👍🏽
Looove your videos, Autumn! ♥️♥️
In buying an item quickly before someone else buys it, how do you know it’s authentic. (New Pre-loved buyer here). Thanks.
Would love a video on why pre-loved is a good option. On the other hand, would you say buying new is a good way to build a relationship with an SA?
I have that very thing in the works. :)
Such great info!!!
Love the video!!! Thanks for all the great tips!! What are some of the Facebook groups you use or buy from?!! Thanks!!
I haven't purchased from the Facebook groups but the main one that I would buy from is Louis Vuitton Addicted - Buy Sell Chat.
Ok thanks 🤗🤗
@@AutumnBeckman Thank You so much!
Lol :)
:)
I’ve signed up for most of the bag websites listed... but it looks like Louis Vuitton is a brand I can’t use a coupon code. Are there certain times where you are able to use them on luxury classified items?
It depends on the site. Sometimes you can use coupon codes on all LV or some LV or no LV. It all depends.
Loved this. I love how good of a person you are, taking pics for animals. 💜💜💜
Thank you. :)
yes, very sweet. After she said that I felt inspired to do the same. Positivity is contagious.
Awesome! I love Affirm.
Wise with a car, Autumn. A car depreciates right off the lot. I love my little Mazda3. Great car, low maintenance.
Awww! Bless Vincent's little heart!
I've been putting her on the balcony more often. The neighbors are enjoying whistling with her. She still seems a little afraid to be out there when I first take her. Not sure why.
Few people realise the investment value of these items. Excellent video.
Thank you. :)
I live in Houston also, have you checked out LV at Burlington's in Katy (Mills)
What are slgs ?
Small leather goods. They don't have to be leather, though. Not sure where that term originated.
Autumn Beckman : ok, thanks
Nice great advice truly thank you for all tips and tricks 🙏🏽👜🌸
Would you be willing to share your tips on finding travel deals? Thanks, love your videos!
Not sure if they are all real but still cool to afford them there
Thank you. :)
I have been scared to purchase even Coach bags from other than in store. How do you purchase at Ebay and etc and KNOW you getting authentic? I am so afraid of spending money that I am not sure will be for the real thing.... HELP
Loved this video!!!☺️ I’ve purchased from Yoogies & FP in the past. Haven’t has the courage to purchase overseas though. Maybe someday...🤔
Yes, I think they offer 6 months without interest. That's a good deal if you can pay it off in that time.
It would be amazing if u do a video of the Different Shoppings papers bags with the years and the dust bags , and the boxes , even envelopes
Great video...
I'm doing layaway for a vintage berber moroccan rug thats 930 Cad but waiting months kinda sucks hah.
