I owned a V10, I did just the muffler delete. But it sounded extremely similar. It is one of the all time great sounding stock engines you can get in my opinion. Definitely on the top 10. I left the CAT because I still needed to be able to drive it longer distances without going mad! It already was really loud if you stepped on it.
I fucking love this F250 The fucking V 10 sounds so good if you get a proper exhaust on this truck and I’m in love every time I hear one of these on the road I’m sad we sold ours thank you for bringing back memories I love your Track
i have my 01 v10 excursion straight piped with no cat and no muffler also. i like it part of the time but certain rpm's its too raspy. still tryin to figure out what i want to do with it.
ufvj217 it's because the y pipe on the 99-04 engines are 2 1/2 inch pipe and one bottle necks to a 1 1/4 inch, I had same problem but I changed the y pipe and it's much deeper
Their loud as hell when straight piped, Put an intake on mine and then got it actually tuned not just a programmer sounded good and really worked well together.
Would not suggest driving straight pipped i took one of my v10 trucks on a 30 min drive straight pipped and it is just way too much could not think about anything other then trying to get back home before i got a ticket

In person the v10 Triton is so brutally loud straight piped. Even with a cat the rasp is so crispy.

One of my friends has his v10 with straight pipes too and holy fuck I can hear it from so many blocks away
I got true dual straight pipes on my 95 f150 5.0 an it can be heard several miles off.
Mine had no exhaust on it and I was told I was heard about a mile away

Just put a glass pack or a resonator on. That should help.

Put a single chamber muffler on it it will give it some needed back pressure and still be loud asf
