Enjoyed the mid century modern homes! I’m with you Steve. No need for grass in the desert. The rocks and pebbles looked so clean and natural in that setting. Thank you for sharing the history and rich environment that is Palm Springs!💞
I used to watch The Adams Family as a kid and loved The Munsters The Monkees and Saturday morning TV shows ! I used to watch HR Puffin Stuff Lidsville and Land of the Lost and The Bugaloos ! I watched Adams Family and The Munsters in the 60s and the other Marty Kroft shows from age 14 till they ended !
Desert landscaping makes the most sense in Palm Springs and the surrounding communities. Work with beautiful natural vegetation rather than try to make the desert into something it’s not. We have several lending library boxes in the neighborhoods that I walk. I always try to remember to bring a book along with me to share. ❤ Paul
I got to visit there once for 2 weeks . I loved it there. I love watching these videos. My son still lives there and he loves it. He no longer likes his hometown (ohio) winters!
Great video Steve! Cindy Williams lived her later years in Desert Hot Springs where she passed. I don't know exactly where but use to see her grocery shopping at Von's.
Hi Mark, that’s awesome they used to see her shopping at the store. Our Wikipedia page and find a great memorial page says she died in Los Angeles. Maybe she was living in DHS at the time but got sick and was taken to a hospital up in LA? That’s the problem with online info, it’s often incorrect. I would love to know exactly where she died. I just checked another site online and I did find a Desert Hot Springs address for her on Mesa Avenue. And it does say that it was last reported in 2023. And she died in 2023, so I think you are correct. I wonder why Wikipedia and find a grave say Los Angeles? Maybe because that’s where she is buried. Thanks for the update. 👍
I wonder why she lived in DHS. Not that long ago, the town was raw around the edges. 3 of my kids lived there for a while. Haven't been up that way in a long time.
@steveinpalmspringsca Because everyone knows LA, but DHS is another animal altogether. Not many have heard Desert Hot Springs. My husband worked at the Spa Casino and saw Ms. Williams a couple of times.
@@steveinpalmspringscaI looked her up last year and she was in the Mission Lake's Country Club development on the west side of the golf course I believe. When I was a kid I wanted to live with the Addams Family. Loving your videos Steve. I only get to PS a couple times a year, watching your videos is the next best thing, ❤😊
Thank you Steve, for this lovely informative 🚶 walking and driving 🚘 tour. I always enjoy your videos so much. Thanks again for taking the time out of your busy retirement schedule to show us around some of the beautiful homes in the Palm Springs area. 🏜 Lol.... Until your next video with us, please take care of yourself and say hello to Jim for us.
One of my favorite movies. Thanks for a great tour..👍 Wow palm springs is amazing. what loving views of mountains those houses have. Maybe in my next life...😂🤞
Hi CD, I had lunch with him and Scott from Toronto when he first moved here to the Palm Springs area. And I’ve run into him at a couple of events here. Unfortunately we haven’t done any videos together yet, but I would love to. And I agree with you, I love his videos and his channel. 😎👍
It’s always so interesting to see the architecture there as it’s so different from here in Germany. Here most homes have at least 2 floors and sharply sloped roofs. It’s quite common here for there to be various family members living in separate apartments within the house, too, 3 of my friends live like that in the same house as their parents. Of course the plants are a lot different here too!
@@steveinpalmspringsca oh there are people who do that here too! My husband’s oldest friend lives in a house that has 3 or 4 separate apartments on 4 floors! He lives in the top floor! Very cool tour Steve. I was surprised when I was there back in October to find a fence around Dean Martins home. I was so looking forward to exploring it. Thanks for sharing, we absolutely love the Addams Family and now I need to check out the John Paragons Niche.
Thanks Jeff, hopefully Paul Reubens will have a cremation niche at Hollywood forever, near John Paragon. They were good friends so I wouldn’t be surprised. @steveinpalmspringsca I attended a Dia de Los Murtos event at Hollywood Forever Cemetery a few years ago. I went in some of the mosleums but never saw these special nitch's. There are some amazing head stones there. Johnny Ramons headstone stands out.
That was nice to feel like being back my neighborhood in 1990! I had an Alexander built home on N. Orchid Tree. It was still untouched (non remodeled) with it's shag carpeting and 70's colors. Me and my English Springer Spaniel thoroughly enjoyed our back yard and pool. And Vista Las Palmas....I had a friend who lived behind the gates on that street, towards the end also but on the left hand side. We used to meet up at the piano bar (Gloria's??) once and a while. Thanks for the memories!
Thank You Steve for another wonderful tour of Palm Springs! I would have loved to have gone to see Palm Springs when I could still walk around more. I love the Mountains there. They remind me of the Foothills behind our Farm where I grew up. I can honestly say that I miss the farm life with chickens, cows, sheep and my Son’s pet Rabbit, named Arthur or Artie for short! Artie had his own Condo!😊 Oops, I’m digressing here. This was a great tour as always. Blessings to You and Jim! ❤❤❤
Single and double butterfly roofs. That area of Palm Springs has a lot of Alexander homes. The mid century modern, or Modenisim week is in February, I believe.

Before we moved here I thought gravel yards would be easy to maintain, but turns out after every rain we get lots of weeds and it's very difficult to pull them out of the gravel, lol. Who knew? Thankfully we don't usuallly get a lot of rain here! :-O
Never have I had much interest in "Mid-Century Modern" homes.. until now, seeing how Unusual they can be. The Hard Landscaping is so Pretty too. Mid-Century Modern always reminds me of "The Brady Bunch" house. ha
The Brady Bunch house was a split story early 1960s contemporary house. I toured a house that was for sale, and the master bedroom had a bathroom with a tiled tub you stepped down into. I was told it was common in these mid century homes. Google the Brady Bunch house. It was for sale not that long ago, and I believe the new owner revived that 1960s look inside.
I love this video!!! I have yet to drive around these neighborhood roads, still sticking to the main drag. So it's fun to see these homes. One of these days, I would like to take a historical tour of them. Last year I took a bus tour of some of the homes around downtown Palm Springs and it was interesting but it was a very chilly day. Stay dry Steve, I hear this storm is going to be bigger than the last.
Hi Amy, I can't believe how much rain we are getting!! I guess we can use it though. Better than a draught. If you into walking, you can always join me on a future neighborhood walk. Just text me. :-)
It’s the view that draws people in, I really think I could live with the traffic in order for that gorgeous view ❤, I bet the inside of those homes are beautiful.
Very true Monica and yes, interiors are very beautiful. Modernism Week is coming up soon and many will be open for tours. Unfortunately, the tours are usually $50 or more per house, so pretty pricy to get in to see. :-(
One of your best videos yet. I love mid century homes, desert landscaping and breeze blocks. Would love to walk that neighborhood. Thank you❤❤❤❤plus the bonus planes.😊😊😊
116th Heyy Steve....Loved the addams family .....you can almost imagine the Golden Girls house in that Neighbhood...we're all gettin' old....all our childhoood show celebs are dropping :( xo... Hello to Jim !
I have to admit, I never heard of any of these actors!🤔 I guess my only excuse can be that I didn't live or grow up in the U.S. in the 1950's or 60's although I had heard of the Addams Family!! Nevertheless, I'm enjoying the walk through this lovely sun soaked blue skies neighborhood! But the leaf blowers....!! how annoying are those! Alot of noice signifying nothing and I believe county by county in California gradually they are being replaced by electric powered blowers which are much quieter and we already have them here in Santa Cruz being used by city workers.👏 Once again Steve, thanks for taking us along on your walk!👍
Thanks for coming along Catherine. The real stars of these neighborhoods really are the homes. And Palm Springs passed a law a few years ago that only electric leaf blowers are allowed, but they don’t seem to enforce that law at all unfortunately! 😩
Steve thank you so much for this video. I have been wondering about Elvis and Dean Martin's houses since you showed them last. I hope they don't demolish Dean's home. I am a big Dean Martin fan..lol. Of course, I was also an Elvis fan...who wasn't back then..lol. I love these videos where you show us PS. It brings back so many memories of our vacation there in 2021.
Glad you enjoyed it Darlene! Fingers crossed they don't tear it down. I think most of the town would show up and chain themselves to the house to prevent it lol. :-)
Hi Steve, thanks for the tour. I like to explore further the home you showcase by going on to Zillow, finding the home and hopefully there are pics of the inside. As someone from Palm Springs, I also like to drive to a neighborhood and walk that area. Thanks again.
Good morning, Steve! Thank you so much for this neighborhood tour. Oh yes..I was a big Adam’s Family fan; watched it all the time as a kid. This will make for a nice walk from our place by the casino . We did end up coming to Palm Springs for 3 days. Our place is officially set up! That is good as I am tired of doing work on every visit. Sorry I didn’t reach out for a walk. My wife has a surgery this Monday, so we needed to get back to CO before the weather set in, and get her ready for that.
Hi Alan, one of these days we can get together for a walk around one of our many neighborhoods here in Palm Springs. I hope your wife’s surgery is not something too serious. Best of luck to her! 🤞👍
Wow, the views of those mountains are awe- inspiring!! I used to think I didn’t like the desert landscaping I guess because I grew up with grass but some of those examples are beautiful. Less maintenance as well. My granddaughter lives in El Paso and has desert landscaping in the front yard, I’m going to have her watch this so she can get some ideas. Thanks for another great walk! PS Your eye is looking much better.
Steve, I appreciate your videos so much! I was raised in Palm Springs. In about 10 years, my husband and I will be moving back to Palm Springs. For retirement. I cannot wait! We visit quite often, but, can’t wait to be a full timer, again. ❤️☀️ I love your videos and reliving some of the old streets and places you visit. I love how you visit old movie star homes, etc. I also LOVE mid century and desert landscape is my favorite, too. Keep up the awesome work, I appreciate you so much!❤️✌🏼☀️
Glad you enjoy the videos Carla. That's awesome that you grew up here and are able to come back to retire here. It's a pretty special place to retire! :-)
Thanks for taking us along on another interesting walk. I do like grass but the desert landscaping does make much more sense in an area like Palm Springs.
I just love your walk and talks!!! It gives those of us far away and in the midst of winter a glimpse of paradise! And it gives us an idea of places to drive by or stroll when we do return. Thank you!!!
I love these walks. It is very interesting to me because I have always lived on the east coast and the homes and desert landscape of Palm Springs makes me feel like it's another planet.
As always, Thank You for this great video, Steve! Waking up every day of your life and seeing those beautiful homes and spectacular views of the mountains is a real blessing!
Although I live in New Zealand where it is very green I must say that the desert landscape is what I would go for if I lived in Palm Springs for sure. I absolutely adore the cacti plantings, especially the Golden Barrels 😍😍
Hi. Love the old shows on tv...Munsters.. Laverne and Shirley.. The Monkees.. etc... .the homes are all beautiful and so different to us here . Nice ... Palm Springs knows how to landscape . Nice day in the neighborhood..it's very fine . Thanks for a great vlog........ Deborah 🇨🇦
Good morning Steve, I saw on Facebook the other day Suzanne Summers’s house is up for sale for $9 million in Palm Springs. That’s a lot of money ain’t it hope you have a wonderful day. God bless Karen Gregar.
Hi Karen, thanks for letting me know. I wonder if it was the house she bought a year before she died or if it was her other house that sold a couple of years ago. I will have to check it out. Thanks 😎👍
Oh wow, this has been my favorite of your neighborhood walking videos so far. Beautiful neighborhood -- so many good ideas for my own desert front yard!
It’s funny, as I’m watching your video, I still get the city of Palm Springs police dept road closures messages and there quite a few today. I also had the same issues with cell phone coverage in the canyons, I’d be driving and no signal. Really enjoying your latest series of going through the neighborhoods. Keith
Hi Keith, we've had so much rain this year already!! I'm surprised that any of the roads are still open lol. This was my first time with no cell reception. I thought my phone broke. :-O
Loved the Adams Family ... Thank you for the Tour and down memory lane. The homes are so different from ours in the UK. Wish we had the sunshine 🌞 like Palm Springs ... Keep making your videos Steve.
Cool video. I have a huge soft spot for Jambi. Sad to hear about his struggles. Alcohol is so damaging. I quit drinking years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. I don’t care what life throws at me, alcohol is a slow death. It’s cool he lived in PS. Thanks for another great video, Steve. Hope you and Jim are enjoying this beautiful week. Winds are picking up this MLK day, but beautiful morning so far! I’m heading to PS to explore like you!
Great walking tour Steve! The House of Tomorrow is on the Mod Week tour and we are pretty stoked to see it. We walked by in October and construction was pretty crazy at that time. Very nice to see where Cindy Williams lived, I had no idea!
Really enjoy your vlogs! Always informative and presented well. Thanks for all the work you put into them. Sure wouldn't want to live on that busy and noisy street. The houses look so close to the street
Love those homes..I like grass, smells so nice when it's cut..yes that was cheetahs house from tarzan..thanks for the tour..always wanted to live in the Addams house
Enjoyed this so much Steve!!❤Thank you for the star studded home tours .🤩How awesome that your. grandparents lived way up there in the mountains ⛰. I remember you talked about your childhood memories visiting your grandparents during your summer vacations with your brothers.⛰⛰⛰⛰⛰⛰🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝🏝 About how far is this area from where you and Jim reside? About how long of a drive ? Till next time! 🐊🦩
I love the use of "Breeze Blocks" in the Mid-Century Modern homes. The Addams Family was created by a cartoonist named Charles Addams. Charles was a student at the University of Pennsylvania, which is a few blocks from my house. Addams endowed the university's arts department and in return the university named it's Fine Arts Building after Addams. There is a sculpture of Gomez, Morticia, Lurch, Uncle Fester, and the others in front of the building.
Thanks for sharing these with us, Steve. Our New Jersey weather‘s been crazy too. One day it’s freezing cold & the next day we get near 50°.🥶🥵 By the way, has anybody ever said anything to you when they noticed that you’re filming their home? I hope not! 🤔🏠🌴
Sorry to hear that you are getting wacky weather too Maryann! 🤪 it’s funny you should ask that question. It’s one of my pet peeves. No matter where I film I get nosy busybodies asking me what I’m doing and why I’m doing it and trying to stop me from filming. So far no one has ever told me I can’t film the sunrise or the sunset, but I’m sure there will come a day when someone will try to stop me from doing that too. Minding their own business is not something most people like to do lol! 😳😆👍
That first road you were on Steve was more like a freeway. I like the look of a desert community but wouldn't want to live in one. Growing up in San Diego we had green grass and hedges of course. I just like seeing green where I live but in a desert setting, it doesn't make sense. Hope you and Jim are well. ♥️🇺🇸🌈
Great walk around Steve! It’s interesting that Cassandra Peterson had John Paragon’s ashes for awhile. What was their relationship, and why & how did she get his ashes?
Have been watching you for a few years and enjoy your tours around Palm Spring and outside your area. Love the mid 50's homes. Are most homes in Palm Spring one level homes?
Glad you like them Michael. Yes, most are single story, but that is starting to change a little bit now that a lot more people are moving here and land is becoming more scarce.
Thanks for the tour! I was curious and googled about Cheeta. I had no idea he lived there, and only passed away in 2022. I sure hope they don’t tear down Dean’s house. I look forward to checking things out myself later this year. Have you ever taken that walking tour you saw? Would be interesting to see what they say.
Hi LisaMarie, I thought about it but it was kind of expensive and I’ve already been to all of the houses. I think it’s really care mostly for people from out of town who aren’t familiar with their celebrity homes here. If they were visiting the interiors then I would definitely take it. 😎👍
Hi Dawn, gosh, you are so generous. Thank you so much, once again. You'll be getting a shout out in an upcoming video. Have a great rest of the weekend! :-)

In the desert it doesn't rain much and it doesn't snow, so the roofs are flat. There isn't really an attic either, and basements are rare.

Hi Mark, I do that sometimes too. Zillow is definitely the next best thing to taking an interior tour in person! :-)
Very nice Steve
Thanks Carol!
El Paseo is a very nice area too. Thanks Peggy. 😎👍
@@steveinpalmspringsca Sorry I didn’t make myself clear. I meant El Paso Texas.
😎👍
I just love your walk and talks!!! It gives those of us far away and in the midst of winter a glimpse of paradise! And it gives us an idea of places to drive by or stroll when we do return. Thank you!!!
Glad you enjoy it CK! 😎😳
I love these walks. It is very interesting to me because I have always lived on the east coast and the homes and desert landscape of Palm Springs makes me feel like it's another planet.
Glad you like them Deborah. And yes, it does look like another planet compared to other parts of the country in the world lol! 😂👍
I'm with you Steve. Love the mid century homes and desert landscaping. I love everything about Palm Springs
😎👍
As always, Thank You for this great video, Steve! Waking up every day of your life and seeing those beautiful homes and spectacular views of the mountains is a real blessing!
I agree L, it sure is and I don’t take it for granted! 😎👍
Although I live in New Zealand where it is very green I must say that the desert landscape is what I would go for if I lived in Palm Springs for sure. I absolutely adore the cacti plantings, especially the Golden Barrels 😍😍
Thanks for watching from New Zealand! I agree, the desert is absolutely beautiful!
You walked right by Steve McQueens house on Grace and Ave Cab - really enjoy your walks and info happy 2025 🌬️🥂
Deborah 🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it Deborah!
Great tour Steve
Thanks Spencer 😎👍
Such beautiful place. Like a dream.
😎👍
Tons of fun! A great adventure. Thank You!
Glad you enjoyed it David! 😎👍
Actor Edward Faulkner who was in a lot of John Wayne movies supposedly lives in Palm Springs.
I wouldn't be surprised. Many Hollywood actors eventually move here. Thanks for sharing that with us Pat!
I love these walks with you Steve! I want to relocate there!!!
Thanks, Michael. Nice to hear that. 😎👍
I luv landscaping and tropical plants, Elvis honeymoon home beautiful
😎👍
More Stevie Babie Walks! ..................... Please !!!
Coming up 😄👍
Good morning Steve, I saw on Facebook the other day Suzanne Summers’s house is up for sale for $9 million in Palm Springs.
Thanks Betsy. Glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
Love your videos where you go walking. I really liked this tour. 😊
Glad you like them Renee. 😎👍
One of my favorite videos of yours.
That’s nice to hear Shawn! 😎👍
Loved the Adams Family ...
Thank you for the Tour and down memory lane. The homes are so different from ours in the UK. Wish we had the sunshine 🌞 like Palm Springs ...
Keep making your videos Steve.
Glad you enjoyed it Rose! :-)
Happy exploring Daniel 😎👍
Great walking tour Steve! The House of Tomorrow is on the Mod Week tour and we are pretty stoked to see it. We walked by in October and construction was pretty crazy at that time. Very nice to see where Cindy Williams lived, I had no idea!
I took a tour of Elvis' honeymoon house years ago and it was awesome. I've heard they remodeled inside. Enjoy the tour and let us know what you think.
@@steveinpalmspringsca Will do Steve!
When I saw "Casa Cheeta" I was like, Ooh!, Ooh!, Ooh!
Really enjoy your vlogs! Always informative and presented well. Thanks for all the work you put into them. Sure wouldn't want to live on that busy and noisy street. The houses look so close to the street
Glad you like them West!
I love your walks! I'm looking forward to your next!
Thanks Joan. Glad you like them! :-)
Thank you for the tours Steve 😊
Glad you enjoy them Dawn! 😎👍
Great video! Thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for coming along LD! Glad you enjoyed it! 😎👍
John Paragon was also very good in "Eating Raoul"!
Yes, he was in some pretty good movies. Thanks for mentioning that Gail. 😎👍
Thanks!
Hi Nancy, this is so generous and kind of you. Once again, you'll be getting a shout out in an upcoming video. Have a great weekend! :-)
Love those homes..I like grass, smells so nice when it's cut..yes that was cheetahs house from tarzan..thanks for the tour..always wanted to live in the Addams house
Thanks for watching Lisa!
I love the MCM homes. Carolyn Jones was from Amarillo, TX. I did not know she passed on so many years ago.
Hi Kat, we live just a few miles from where my grandparents lived. I can walk there in about 15 to 20 minutes. 😎👍
Oh cool 😎 thank you for your reply Steve 👍💕. 🐊🦩
Great video Steve I enjoyed this video
Glad you enjoyed it Syreeta! 😎👍
Thanks Steve Great Video
You are very welcome! I am glad you enjoyed it Earl. 😄👍
I have met Eddie Munster before and got a picture with him. I think it was last summer in Springfield, Illinois.
That is awesome Sheila. 😎👍
Great tour😊😊
Thank you David! 😁
Wow, I've never seen that sculpture. Sounds cool. What a small world!
Thanks for sharing these with us, Steve. Our New Jersey weather‘s been crazy too. One day it’s freezing cold & the next day we get near 50°.🥶🥵
By the way, has anybody ever said anything to you when they noticed that you’re filming their home? I hope not!
@@steveinpalmspringsca agreed. ☺️
That first road you were on Steve was more like a freeway. I like the look of a desert community but wouldn't want to live in one. Growing up in San Diego we had green grass and hedges of course. I just like seeing green where I live but in a desert setting, it doesn't make sense. Hope you and Jim are well. ♥️🇺🇸🌈
It's funny how some people don't mind living on very loud, busy streets. I've known some people who say they prefer it lol. :-O Thanks! :-)
I think it’s the last one they were living in Steve. He says it has 100 stairs which is an awful lot.
Which house are you referring to Karen?
Great walk around Steve! It’s interesting that Cassandra Peterson had John Paragon’s ashes for awhile. What was their relationship, and why & how did she get his ashes?
Apparently they were very good friends, along with Reubens. He must have had her in his will as the executor or who he wanted to have his ashes.
Where Cindy Williams lived, I see green grass. Was this real grass or artificial turf?
Thanks for the adventure! Keep up good work!
Hi Stacy, it was real grass. Thanks 😎👍
Thanks!
Hi Dawn, gosh, you are so generous. Thank you so much, once again. You'll be getting a shout out in an upcoming video. Have a great rest of the weekend! :-)
