When I was a relatively new employee in the days when women were unwelcome working in a professional capacity where only men had been before, one of my young coworkers put up a poster of a popular movie star right in front of my office door. She was clothed but in a highly suggestive pose. I knew it would be a trap to go to HR, so I didn't. But I remembered my mother's advice "don't get mad, get even." So I ordered a poster of the famous ballet dancer Baryshnikov, caught in a jumping pose and wearing tights that left nothing to the imagination. I put him up right beside the movie star. A day or so later I heard the coworker being berated outside my door. The movie poster disappeared. No one said a word to me lol. The next day, having made my point, I took Baryshnikov down also. No more issues with my coworkers nor supervisors after that.
Story 1 - I get that constantly at work. To be fair, if you don't follow up the amount of work tends to drown out low priority projects...but it's one thing that's been solved by working at home. People can't track you down if you're in a meeting, eating lunch, or (god forbid) taking a dump. Yes...those are all actual scenarios I've dealt with. Having it happen in a meeting with an exec was one of the funniest things I've ever seen though. The manager sent their admin assistant in a few times to ask me to move stuff around on my schedule...imagine loud heavy door opening and closing 3-4 times every 10 minutes for 40 minutes making the meeting go silent...till the exec went to the manager and scolded them in hearing range of the entire meeting how this was disrespectful behavior towards everyone in the room.
I was hoping the chairman would have given OP some more time off or lesson his work hours or give him somebody else to help him with his tasks because that's just going to cause problems if OP decides to go on vacation or suddenly get sick. You can't put all your weight on one workhorse forever.
Second-to-last story: I believe "Tina" either felt threatened by the fact that an Employee had a better-looking Girlfriend, or just wanted to be an over-all jerk.
When I was working in a small grocery store’s deli during college my coworkers were primarily women (during my whole time there I was one of 3 male deli workers) and one of the things someone put up was basically one of those sexy men calendars. While I may not of liked the calendar I just ignored it til a new store manager (also a woman) said it was inappropriate and it had to be taken down.
@@JadenYukifan28 I don’t remember what all the guys looked like I just remembered my coworkers liking Mr. January and that the guy was shirtless with what I’d guess was dress pants with cuffs on his wrist, I only remember it because I saw it for literal months until it was taken down.
The first one, nah I’d flat out refuse to “call her” after every single thing is done. That’s nothin but a power trip and control issues on her part. It’s only gonna take more time to get everything done just to play her little game.
Oh, HELL NO. If you were sitting with her boss or higher up you should have done as rw said and handed him the phone. Shut that BS done anyway you can! Face palm, get the neighbors together and vote out the board then fire the management company. No more problems. Nope, When you show up at the meeting the proxy's are no longer valid. Someone slashes my tires or other damage to my property would result in their house being unlivable.
I had an 8.5x11 inch calendar on the side of a cabinet in the galley. That's a shipboard kitchen for those who don't know. The bottom half of the page was the calendar and the top half was a cutesy pin-up style witch on a broomstick flying over a fantasy castle. Whimsical, really. On an inspection, the officer told me that I had to remove the calendar "because someone might find it offensive". I asked if anyone had complained, and he said that was not the point. Someone might. I asked if he found it offensive. He wouldn't answer me. I asked if he was ordering me to remove it. He said yes. I removed it and threw it away right in front of him, and told him that the only reason I put it up was because I knew he was going to be the one to say something about it.
LAST STORY because of this story is exactly why the current leadership needs to be dealt with in a way that is maybe a little south of the rules and regulations of the hoa as well as the laws governing the state and city in which this takes place
It doesn't matter what stories that RedWheel tells I live them all. Some not as much, he's a very well spoken narrator. My husband loves the HOA stories the most. ❤
Lucy story: I DEFINITELY would have handed the call to the chairman and let her explain herself to him. EHS story: Gotta love bosses that simply never see the red flags when asked to put it in writing. GF photos vs underwear photos. With equal rights comes equal responsibilities. HOA story: Yep, some definitely power hungry jerks in leadership. But they ever actually get voted out though?
The last story is a prime example of why HOA's either need to be illegal across the board. *OR* there needs to be *STRICT* laws, rule und regulations in place starting at the city level, then the county level, then the state level, und finally the federal level. Not only that, but there has to be transparency within the HOA. Meaning that board members, not only can *NOT* hire their own company to do work for the HOA, but also can not hire companies owned by friends or family members. Und that *ALL* HOA rules, regulations, bylaws, covenants, et cetera *MUST* voted on by *EVERYONE *living in the community. They also must be reviewed by an independent lawyer, with *NO* ties to the community *OR* HOA board. Then city, county, state und federal government need to review them to make sure that they do not violate the law. Fines need to be capped, they can not exceed the value of the house/land. The HOA should have to make a case to the city before they can put a lean on the house.
HOA Story: If I was one of the Home Owners who's Absentee Ballot was counted despite my physical presence at the Election, I'd be calling a Lawyer to Sue the Unholy Howling HELL out of the HOA Board and request the Court Order the removal of the current Board and a new Election is held by an Independent Agent appointed by the Court... THEN I'd call the State Government Agency that oversees HOA's and file a Formal Complaint against them for both the Illegally Excessive Fines - $200.00-$1,000.00 PER OFFENSE is insanely high as well as the Illegal Election where Absentee Ballots were counted despite the people that allegedly sent them in were physically present for the Election and their protests about the Absentee Ballot Use were summarily ignored...
What is it with those "Reddit-Reaction-Channels" often using "anywho" instead of "anyhow"? My first language isn't English, so this sets me of quite a bit, since I don't understand this word in given context. Is there some kind of meaning behind "anywho" I don't get, or are they just misspelling like "breaks / brakes"?

Last story: i remember reading a hoa story where the hoa was biased against anyone who didn’t vote for donald “ sore loser “ trump And basically ruled it with a iron fist and has destroyed the park, pool and club house for more houses, then they stole a house and kicked the mother out without her things and the hoa president’s sister moved in, soon the presidents house was under attack by the woman’s family, her 5 boys made it hell for him, by killing his lawn to shooting up his house with paint balls, the hoa president held on when it was revealed he had a master key to all the houses as he was sued by residents for entering their houses and was caught on camera entering, and it got worse and worse for him to where he’s serving life in prison
At my hubby’s job, the safety guy is _really bad at his job!!!_ *And it’s because of the guys in the warehouse!* Most of the exits are blocked off, a lot of trash is never picked up, etc. and to get away with it, he just “says” he did the walkthrough, and “it’s safe”. The reason he does it is because the dudes in the warehouse are *very argumentative!!!* If someone wants them to change something, they start a fight, and refuse to work, and they’re already short staffed. So, he just goes along with it…
Call local FD and complain that you as a customer were worried about the conditions there, and let the FD come in and start loading up on the fine bucket, and after around a dozen simply tell the company that they are removing the occupancy certificate, and padlocking the doors till the issues are fixed. Then management will have a realisation that all those issues he brought up are going to cost them, and that the fines are going to hurt their bonuses, and the place will both have a new safety guy, and a whole new warehouse staff, from the managers on down. Especially if OHSA starts coming in, and then fines them on top of this all, followed by DOL on unsafe work pracises. The company thinks they are short on staff, they will be very short on being able to work at all, and you can bet those who did the arguing will be unable to get work ever again.
@@SeanBZA you have no idea how upset my hubby would get if he found out if I did that (and he’s not the type of guy that gets mad!) I’ve never heard him yell in my entire life! And I don’t want my hubby to lose his job (he’s the only warehouse worker that doesn’t argue)
@@jaypritchett6846 You do not do it it will hit them soon enough if there are people non company coming into there for anything. Just needs one person who knows an OHSA inspector, or the FD, and they start the whole ball rolling.

Should have had the Florida State board of HOAs there to regulate everything and do an audit on that HOA it sounds like they're out of control.
I live in a HOA Community in Florida and did not have any issues with it.

That HOA slashing tires? After no legal success? violence begets violence!

Last story. This is a situation where the neighborhood needs to come together and some severe wall-to-wall counseling to the HOA leadership.
