Just put on a plastic glove first. For balustrades I use a towelling sports sock- more absorbant- and it's so quick

Why not using disposable gloves under the sock in order to keep your hands clean ?
Or use a paint mitt that's wot they're made for

I do the same for security bars but I put on a glove before putting on the sock lol

Why not dip your head in the paint and use your hair, that's what I do.
