I Finally Beat Dark Souls, But I Lost My Mind.
Hello beautiful people. So 10 years ago I was blessed with the original Dark Souls on my Xbox 360 through the Xbox Gold System, and I never beat Dark Souls. Fast forward 10 years later, and with an Elden Ring Co-Op Playthrough that you guys seem to LOVE, I decided to hone up on skills by retrieving my dignity from this masterpiece.
25 hours of Dark Souls and DLC playthrough later, and I absolutely love this game. I can see why so many people love it, and here's my full playthrough with my LIVE and RAW reactions to every boss fight. I hope you guys enjoy!

Adrian switching weapons every 10 minutes for the first HOUR of the video had me crying. Also, the fact that he DID the ceaseless cheese ON ACCIDENT and died is SO funny to me
whats the ceaseless cheese? at what timestamp did it happen
@@uwulasagna I don't have the timestamp for it, but if you grab the armor to aggro ceaseless and then run back to the fog gate, he'll jump over to you and hang on the ledge. if you hit him five times with any weapon, he'll fall down into the lava or pit or whatever and die. It's not technically a "cheese" because it's intentionally put in by the devs, but a lot of people refer to it as such because it makes the fight trivially easy.
The only thing i could Think this playthrough was “please upgrade a weapon!!”

No question about it, dark souls is in my top 10 favorite game franchises
I just finished my first darks souls playthrough recently and goodness was it great, can't wait to jump into this!

3:35:20 Yes, the black knights were all silver knights at one point in the story, they served to Gwyn in the great war against the ancient dragons. After the fire starting fading and The Witch of Izalith tried to recreate the flame by the command of Gwyn, failing at that process and creating the demons, Gwyn ordened his army to take down and destroy those demons, some turned into the black knights and many perish. That's why we see the majority of black knights near a Demon boss in game.

It was a blast watching you play DS1, of all the playthroughs that I have seen, yours were the most fun and entertaining for sure, seeing you figuring things out by yourself and exploring the game made me remender those golden times playing this masterpiece for the first time. Now the real question is:

My favorite ds game. It's never too late to experience this wonderful pain that is this game. While not the hardest, it's definitely the most punishing of all for inexperienced players. While I tried elden ring first, this game is what got me into fromsoft's souls games.

You should definetly play DS3, it adds on a lot of cool lore to DS1 as well as amazing bosses, areas and music. Sekiro has amazing combat, Bloodborne an amazing feeling. Play all of them

For the longest time, I've been telling people that drake sword is absolute garbage. It does great damage against enemies in parish, but after that, even longsword starts to out damage it if you've been leveling str and dex. After around the depths, the damage starts to suck ass and is basically unusable against blighttown enemies. Not to mention that it breaks easily, is expensive to reinforce, and has a pretty bland moveset for a straight sword.
I'm glad you switched weapons mid-playthrough Adrian otherwise both you and I were gonna suffer a lot.
He never upgraded things is the issue, the drake sword works rlly well when u dont upgrade anything. Thats why it dealt the most damage, because it requires no upgrades to be good.

its (imo) the worst "souls" experience. Its a good game combat wise, but combat isnt why you should play souls. There are just better experiences combat wise (Nioh and Hollow Knight off the top of my head) Most OG souls fans play it for the story and world design, since thats... what its strongest point was. I don't hate ds3, its a great game. I just think it doesn't fit the souls style very well. Its like sekiro and bloodborne, they aren't souls games. They're not the same, they simply dont add up. Dark souls 2 and Bloodborne are so far apart, while Dark souls 2 and Dark souls 1 are extremely similar. Dark souls 3 is only the 3rd game imo because of it having references, otherwise it just doesn't fit the gameplay. Its alot like releasing a story based first person shooter and the next one is a hack and slash. Like... sure it has the same name, but it doesn't fit the original reason people liked it.
Adrian going through the game severly underleveled, not upgrading weapons, skipping bosses and shortcuts made this more annoying but so much funnier at the same time

Heads up for Mimics, they have chains on their right side that face towards the player, regular chests have the curved back chain
It's applicable to all dark souls games
Alternatively you can be like me, and just give every chest a lovetap (one hit with your weapon). If you see damage numbers, you found a mimic. It's a habit that carried over to Elden Ring, can't wait to be vindicated with the DLC.
