Always love these. Keep doing these lighting tutorials! Our eyes are so used to seeing these great images you forget the details behind it. The hair light, background light, and haze really take it to the next level!
Man this is so cool! I love the cinematography of David fincher and seeing this how you break everything down is simply amazing. I’d love to see something of Nolan, maybe interstellar! 😍
Your tutorials are absolutely fantastic! I especially appreciate how you show each of the lighting stages in progression after your deep dive! Keep doing what you do! (Plus more recreations would be awesome!) 🎞️🎥
Damn man, just found your channel and binge watched a few vids... pure gold!!! Couldn't have found your channel at a better time, keep up the amazing work!
Great job! For a specific scene I would want to see something Quentin tarantino. Inglorious or Django. Inglorious opening or 3 fingers bar scene, django dinner scene with Leo DiCaprio.
Yussss! I don't know how i didn't notified about this video 🙄 freaking RUclips, man! But I remember commenting something about this/ requesting you do these and you said you were thinking about doing these! And it finally happened and I missed it! 😅 Maaaan, please keep these coming, they are great! Love your other videos too!
Bro you're the best on here with this stuff! Aputure videos are cool but they are always using stuff (gear) we don't have and it kinda makes it inaccessible to the rest of us. I mean we put up with it because of the techniques, but you're the best one that has the best cinematography tutorials that are accessible, super straight to the point, and just straight up just look really fucking good, man! Thank you so much!
Do you think you could ever try recreating scenes from It Follows? I think the lighting in that movie is insane. The cinematography was inspired by Gregory Crewdson’s photography and it has such a surreal, dream-like quality.
This is great. Really enjoyed the vid. I'd say the one thing you didn't quite nail is the Rembrandt lighting on your face. There's a LITTLE bit of spillover onto your cheek but it's not that triangle that we're seeing in Jesse's face. I think you could have boosted the black levels a bit as well. Overall, super informative and fun to watch. Thanks!
Dude, that is great!!! I just had a corporate client that wanted the Social Dilemma look, so did a 2 cam shoot with the Rokinon 85mm 1.4 wide open, it was a focus nightmare! I wonder if they had a liar focus motor to get that dof and be in focus when she is moving all around in that scene?
Awesome! Just awesome! Loved it! Do more of these look recreation videos❤️❤️ By the way, did you use a LUT to monitor the look while filming or just eyeballed it? (Would love to see you make a short movie❤️)
Haze is the key here. Lowers contrast and lifts the blacks which feels more like a fill light for the shadows. The hard blacks feels too dramatic for a scene like this but the haze lifts it up. Having a bigger location would be great but then also the amount of light needed to fill a larger space is a whole new problem.
One of your best yet! I need to do some recreations now 😝 I'm curious what stands you're working with, I'm in the market for some new ones & I think they may be the only thing you don't have listed ha!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I hope you know that the knowledge you impart in the video helps us budding, little to no budget, cinematographers immensely! I have a question though, I been saving up to purchase a BMPCC4K but I've heard horror stories about powering the camera. Can you please give a reliable and affordable power option for it? Thank you in advance. You've earned a subscriber from Sri Lanka.
Another great tutorial, thanks Brady! I have a question. What are the advantages of using a light panel over a regular Bowen mount point source? It seems less flexible to me and not as easy to modify the light and also in what situation would chose that over an Aputure 300 light? I believe it's standard type of light for TV interviews, documentary.
Yap! do more recreations 🎬 we love these
Thank you so much
LETS GO DUDE!! This is one of my favorites you’ve put out so far. So fun to collab on this one
Heck yeah dude thanks for being a part!
Great job man !! One of my favourite scenes.
Can I say one thing? This man is INCREDIBLE! Thanks mate, refreshed a lot and learned even more today thanks to you!
You’re an inspiration man truly, you’ve inspired me to get into cinematography, all your vids are top notch stuff! 👍🏻
Thank you very much

Can you make a review video for the cinematic pictures and the colors for this movie👇

Always love these. Keep doing these lighting tutorials!
Our eyes are so used to seeing these great images you forget the details behind it. The hair light, background light, and haze really take it to the next level!
Dude! These should be a series! Something about a real world example that you break apart makes the lesson so much easier to understand

The color grading was insane, i knew it had to be stylized but dude, your friend killed it. Awesome video btw
This is amazing, I’m constantly trying to get the Fincher Look and this is the clearest explanation and tutorial so far. Love it.
No way really?! THANK YOU

This vid is perfect man; great workZ such a fan of your aesthetic and yo girl Sara killed that scene!
Great job! For a specific scene I would want to see something Quentin tarantino. Inglorious or Django. Inglorious opening or 3 fingers bar scene, django dinner scene with Leo DiCaprio.

I love these! Please do more :)
I knew that this scene would never be the same without color grading it that was the missing part , love the idea
Amazing! Thank you Brady
Thank YOU

love this, just as good as the movie!

i would use the white board for your face as well just to get the part in the shadow a tiiny bit brighter
Great job as always
Do more of these!! Start a series or something
Please recreate the scene from Scott Pilgrim VS the World where he meets Ramona at the party
Let me check it out!

Shots fired. I forget to put down the toilet seat sometimes 😬😬

That’s a great question! Sometimes I’ll use a panel because they can provide a more even soft spread
Thanks Brad
Seriously. I liked your version more than the original one.
wow thank you so so much.
Dude this is so weird I literally just finished this film😭

Awesome man, what type of boom arm were you using for the gemini hair light?
Just the one that came with the Cstand!
@@BradyBessette didn’t even notice it was a c stand bc it was black, thought it might’ve been one of those combo stands. Thanks dude 🙏
