    I've used this method as far back as I can recall, However, for some reason I didn't know that you could flip/ mirror about diff axis and was glad to see that tip. So thank You! Perhaps this was added after my intro in 2014 to Sketchup and have always used the scale x -1.0 command to mirror objects thinking that was the only method. Keep up the good work Justin!

    great refresher, as usual. 7:02 could've been a component that included that piece...

      Yeah...I rushed through this one just a bit - probably should have made the railroad ties the components

    HELP, i re-installed my sketchup to version 2023, and my newer version doesnt allow me to the multiple selection copypaste and spacing, how can i reconfigure it to my old setup, can someone help me please?

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  Год назад

      This isn't a feature that was changed between those versions, so you may want to reinstall

  • @nOfiKstideas
    @nOfiKstideas 5 лет назад

    Thanks for that, one issue with the copy tool is that you can't do multiple copies without reselecting a base point then clicking CTL again. Wouldn't it be great to select your base point once then every time you click you drop another copy. Is that possible?

      @Thesketchupessentials  5 лет назад +1

      I think an extension may do that, but I can't remember which one - maybe JHS Powerbar?

    There is another usefuly trick. Multiply and after that set the spacing. In one video showed to me.

    Hey buddy, thanks for the videos. Do you have any videos on exporting su to rhino? I’m having trouble making it so it’s not more work than just redrawing, and the rhino lovers at work hate me.

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  4 года назад

      Nope - I haven't really used Rhino, so I"m probably not going to be very helpful here

    • @avryptickle
      @avryptickle 4 года назад

      Haha. It is a LOT less friendly. I took to sketchup quite easily. Rhino’s learning curve is much much slower. I’m trying to learn some of the advanced functions in su at the same time I get my feet wet in rhino, and my brain is sore.

    well
    for me is crucial to NOT loose my selection after any step /copy , move , etc/

    • @Thesketchupessentials
      @Thesketchupessentials  5 лет назад +1

      Why exactly? I don't really understand why this would be an important part of a workflow...

    • @bacazterchovej2235
      @bacazterchovej2235 5 лет назад +1

      @@Thesketchupessentials hmmm its maybe due to my many years conection with 3ds max and that workflow i just moved to sketchup .
      lets do some example : i have many planes and i need to make windows from that /no componets / so i have to select all that planes then i can make group from that , but after first step which is multiple offset for making window 1st frame i loose my selection , then i have to select inner planes again to push it by 2 cm inside , then i loose my selections again , then i have to make multiple offset again for 2nd frame so i have to select planes /which will be glass in a while / and do push multiple by 5cm /depth of the 2nd window frame -i am from europe so we got diff. type of windows/ then .......etc etc etc
      is there some workaround for holding my selection STILL active ?

    Great videos but I wish you had these more to the point and shorter. Hard to sit through 11 minutes plus when you can actually show the point in less than 60 seconds.

      You know it's funny - the other half of the feedback I get is that I'm going way too fast, so this is probably how the vids are gonna keep looking.
