@@dupersuper6516 I'm mainly going from that Behind the Music from years ago, where it seemed like Journey's management and the band were bending over backwards to make the guy feel at home, because they knew they had scored. And somehow, he comes out saying he felt "isolated". And you can tell, as soon as he joins that band, is when members start departing one after the other. And then the final straw when he boots out Valory and Smith.
They're all old men now, fighting for their retirement. They won't have any left if they keep in litigation. But I personally lost a lot of respect for Steve Perry all the way back in 1986, when I saw Valory & Smith were out. I played in a Top 40 cover band that regularly played "The Girl Can't Help It", so I was almost "obligated" to do it. But I was done with them when that happened. I didn't know all the details, I just knew it was wrong. And that Neal and Jonathan went along with it, says just as much about them as it does him. So it's not even a band of people united together.

This is more than just a feud. It's about an alleged theft and/or misappropriation of corporate funds. In any other industry, Schon, if the allegations are true, would not only be fired but would be prosecuted for theft. Using personal funds is one thing, but using corporate funds for personal use without authorization is illegal. Like any other corporation, why can't Cain and Schon simply draw a salary and then submit expense reports for reimbursement, which would either be approved or rejected, just like any other corporation? Just because you are an owner of a company doesn't mean you have automatic license to use the corporate funds for personal expenses. The corporation is not an ATM for personal use.

Journey is just a nostalgia band. The real Journey ended when there was no more Steve Perry. Neal Schon thinks too highly of himself and all the newer crap he plays. I agree with Steve Perry's take on Journey, to handle Journey as a business based on the empire they created, while remaining a defunct band that's not playing anymore. I know as a fan of the real Journey, they became a parody of the former band they once were, when they continued w/o Perry. Age is a real thing and all bands have an expiration date, whether some of the members and clueless fans think so or not. Rock is a young man's thing. Look at how ridiculous Metallica looks and sounds now. It's just a cash grab for them now.

A thought occurred to me earlier, the alleged coup by Steve Smith and Ross Valory. Was there really a coup, or did Neal just want to get rid of anyone who he considered 'equal authority'? Was Ross not a founding member, just like Neal? So now, he's got exactly what he wants, what he sees as HIS band because he's the only founding member left. He can hire and fire at will because there's no one to challenge him, spend as he wants because he's the 'president' of Journey, with no one to answer to. Maybe Cain isn't the real bad guy here. Perhaps hiring a forensic accountant would be the best way to go. Let someone with no vested interest come in and examine the books for the last decade and see what happens.
