I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has left a comment and shown me such support with this on going situation. I just want to clarify that I edited out what exactly happened on the start line. There were other things I talked about that have happened too but for now that version won’t be released due to police being involved. I can’t give anymore details for now.
Thank you again for standing by me ❤

I love your videos and even though I can’t fully relate to your experience, I just wanted to say you are brave and inspiring. I always want to go out and do more running after I see the joy you have for it and hearing your resilience and determination in this video does so similarly.

I’m saddened to watch this, you have every right to feel safe. As a male runner I try and think about this when running near women. I believe you should, if you have not already, report this to the police. Until this person has a real consequence they sadly will not stop.

It's a big step to speak out about it and fight back. There's always a difficult balance with online content creation, it exposes you to a lot of people and some of those people don't know how to control themselves. I used to be a semi successful live content creator in the video gaming space and there were a lot of scenarios where I had to deal with people who weren't capable of understanding or respecting boundaries, sometimes causing me to feel as though my safety may be in jeopardy. It's never easy, we just learn a bit more each time and figure out better ways to navigate and deal with it, pushing back against the people who think this behaviour is acceptable. You're such a strong person and you've got the strength to progress forward through this and past this person who's trying to create a wedge in your life.

Like everyone else here Rachel, I want to send you my support and for you to know how much this sickens me and how this is not what our sport is all about.
I’m getting tired of hearing and reading about similar experiences from female runners but I must say that generally you hear it almost exclusively about running in regular surroundings. I think this is a good reminder to all of us that it’s not something that is unique to the outside world but that it’s very much a problem within events too.
I don’t want to advocate some kind of white knight policy amongst male runners in events as that is potentially problematic, but at the same time I think we do have an obligation to be aware, be vigilant and to understand that if we see behaviour that is not wanted during an event that we shouldn’t be afraid to step in to help anyone that might need to be aided and to allow them to have a better experience and allow them to run with the same freedom from oppression or interference that we do.
I don’t have all the answers at all but I know I am sick of hearing and reading about it and want this kind of shit to stop.

Supporting you the whole way, Rachel 💪🏽 as a fellow female runner I am so sorry to hear this happened to you, it is absolutely not ok, especially when all we are trying to do is do what we love and some asshat tries to ruin it. They will never win and karma will come for them twofold. You got this and you are so strong!!! Positive vibes all around and sending support! I love your content and your running journey brings me and many others much joy in the sport!

Oh, that is terrible, especially right before a marathon like that Rachel. It's amazing that attitude exists -- I'd like to think most people are very supportive of all abilities and all people into this sport. In the US, the majority of runners at most races are women (I'd say about it's about a 66% to 33% ratio). Either way, you are a fantastic runner and you have every right to be out there toeing the line and getting it done. I love your channel and your ability to show up these tough races and just crush it. Looking forward to seeing your next race installment and you have my utmost support.
