Thanks for watching.
Someone give this man a medal. Just explained it, no bells or whistles, just the info you need for home mechanics. Absolutely outstanding stuff 👍👍
Fantastic explanation without talking guff like all other maintenance videos, straight to the point and easy to understand.
Thanks👍
You are my GRX sensei, thanks a lot for the valuable information.
Thanks again man, I’ve watched all your GRX multiple times, there aren’t better ones on here
About to install a GRX400 with Tiagra levers, great explanation of how to set it up. Thanks for the great video.
Thanks for the B screw pointer. Solved my problem. Damn fine instructional video.
thanks so much for this! i was going crazy trying to index the gears! looked at your directions and realised i had the cable into the derailleur the wrong way around!!
Thanks again for your clear and detailed tutorial. It saved my bacon!
Great video. Managed to replaced the damage derailleur with a new one myself
Thank you for this video, I just installed my gsx and it went fkawslessly because of this video
I used this video today to install my grx, Thanks it helped me out a lot!!
As usual, great video. I'll start from scratch on my Giant Revolt as I'm having a hard time to fine tune. Hanger is fine, already checked.
Awesome and very helpful video for also adjusting it. Thanks so much for posting this! 👍
Excellent and very helpful video! Thank you 👍
really easy to follow, thanks
Thank you very much you helped me a lot
Extremely helpful, thank you🤙🏼🚴🏽
Always informative. Stary safe out there. Thanks man ✊🏽
Brilliant video. Thank you
Great! Thanks!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for this!
thanks
So the “hook stop” of the frame fits in between the two protrusions of the hanger arm.
One up against the flat edge and the other in front of the hook?
Hello, I have a problem, my chain is rubbing (slightly bumping) on a protective "plate" in the derailleur cage, it hapens from time to time or when riding on a bumpy terrain, it causes rattling noise and its annoying... Thank you for the advice.
I've been turning the high and low adjusters and nothing seems to move hmm
I installed the GRX 400 with my Ultegra 10 speed shifters and I can't get it to shift up to the largest cog (32T). I made sure the cable is stretched all the way. Any tips?
I followed your video verbatim.
@@burronorteno He's wrong old Ultegra 6700 10 speed uses 1.7 cable pull GRX uses 1.4 (like 4700 Tiagra) so the GRX 400 is not compatible with those shifters
@@chris1275cc yup. i tried it. he was wrong. fuck
@@burronorteno If you don't mind me asking what are you trying to achieve?
I am trying not to purchase a whole new drive train and use what I got because I’m poor. I needed a long cage derailleur to use a 32T and was told all Shimano 10speed was compatible.
I’ve got a Tiagra rear derailler but it was mounted directly to the hanger. Should I then mount the rx400 also directly without the hanger piece? I’ve installed it like in your video but when shifting to the second largest to largest cog (32) my chain sometimes locks up/grinds and I do feel additional friction when moving the crank with the hand
You ever figure this out? Same boat moving from the tiagra to grx.
@@jakeodom96 seems to be clutch tension, I unscrewed the clutch brake a bit and shifting goes beter now but it seems to be related to the clutch ON and making the chain tension higher. With the clutch OFF no problems. Setup is 50/34 - 11/32
Is it just me or is it much harder to drop the wheel out and slot it back in again with this clutch style deraileur compared to non-clutch road deraileurs?
You are supposed to turn the clutch mechanism off when changing wheelset
@@153Bodo yeah I know that, I can get the wheel in an out no problem but there just seems to be less clearance than with a non-clutch mech
can I use grx 400 with 1x setup? planning to mount a 42 on the front. what is the max sprocket range if im using this setup? thanks
You can. Front chainset provided it's the right speed has no impact on the rear derailleur.
I have Gravel Romet Aspre 1 2021 i want change rear derailleur Shimano Claris RD-R2000 (8 Speed)to GRX 400 10 Speed, will it work (I saw someone how it works)?
Chain sizing question for GRX 400- I am building a Specialized Diverge with GRX 400 (10 speed) Front and Rear Mechs with RX600 2x cranks. The GRX dealer manual says to add 4,5 or 6 links depending on the plate match up. Why would I add 6 links? The manual says If you ae concerned about turbulence in the drive train add 6 links… Not sure what that means…Does anyone have experience with sizing a chain for GRX on 2x set up?
Usually 4 links! Remember if you are using a quick link to take that into account!
Anyone else with issues with the indexing of the gears with the barrel adjuster at the GRX?
Yes I am having that issue among a few others.
Can I install 11-42 cassette in RD GRX400?
40t would probably be the safe limit for that derailleur!
@@FreeToCycle But I can't find a 11-40 10 speed cassette
Sunrace 11-40 10 speed cassette!
