Ricky had so much more class and a sweetness about him. Just a very polite gentleman...and HOT!!! LOL I loved him. He is from my generation so I had plenty of years to love his music...and he is so easy on the eyes. :-)
James Burton, playing the Fender Telecaster behind Rick, was a star in his own right. Not only did he back Ricky for years, Burton also played lead gutiar for The King (Elvis) up until Presley's death. As late as 2010 James Burton was the honored guest at Eric Clapton's "Crossroads" gutiar festival in Chicago. During his years with Ricky, Burton always had the sweetest gutiar riffs but his playing was never overdone ~ Ricky's voice & presence always carried the show. We'll always miss Ricky.

Absolutely love this song. Great production, and love James Burton's out-of-phase Telecaster lead: what a sound what a great melody. Ricky came out of the early days of rock and roll, and I'm so glad he did ... what a great time for music.
I had such a crush on Ricky when I was 17. I sent him my picture and requested a signed autograph. I got one and cherished it. He was always so groomed and those eyes! I know there were bigger singers like Elvis, but Ricky always had that home town, sweet face, and shy demeanor. The year he died he played after one of our Milwaukee Bucks basketball games. Most of the people left, but we flocked down to the front to see and hear him better. That was the last time we ever heard of Ricky. I was devastated, as I imagine SO many more people were, to hear of the fatal plane crash and his passing. I can hardly wait to get to heaven to hear him sing again, for all eternity! wow.. real talent! almost looked surprised at the ovation he got after song was over. singer, songwriter, guitarist and humble. pretty much an extinct commodity these days. R.I.P.
Ricky Nelson underrated for sure! He had that smooth delivery. Crazy handsome. At 1:50 the great country blues Fender guitar solo still sounds great! There’s is no comparing Elvis and Ricky. Ricky was great for what he did. Elvis was a phenomenon that bridges all black R&B into mainstream. He’s a legend. That doesn’t diminish Ricky Nelson or any other awesome talent of the 1950s. They were great for what they had. Still listening April 2020! 💔☺️❤️
Rick Nelson was my first love! I was just a little girl when the fam used to watch Ozzie and Harriet. Yes, looking back, teenaged angst was so totally different in the late 50's and early 60's. My older brother hit his teen years in the early 60's and for me it was the late 60's, early 70's. I never stopped loving Rick! When my brother was overseas in Germany in the Viet Nam era, he saw Rick in concert and got his autograph for me! I think my love for James Taylor came from Ricks music ..
Years ago, one of my Christmas gifts from my daughter was a Ricky Nelson CD. I showed it to my young granddaughter and said I’ve always loved him. She whispered to me...does PopPop know?
When I was a young girl we watched "The Ozzie and Harriet" show every week. I had the biggest crush on Ricky, he was my boyfriend! I loved his singing.
+Barbara King .... yep, he sure was an ugly duckling ...... I too use to watch every week, but not for the same reason as you, lol. ........ the acting was just good enough to keep you interested, plus, wally and the guys helped keep it on the funny side. ........ it's been a long time!
+frizzlefrap Ricky (Rick) performed in Australia in May/June 1985 and I went to see himm ...he still sang beautifully and he was still gorgeus. Sadly, that was about 6 months before he was killed in a plane crash
Be still my heart. Ricky Nelson was so handsome & dreamy looking. Such class for such a young man. So respectful. His voice was beautiful. Elvis was first & Ricky was next. There are no men today like them. They both were taken too soon. RIP. You both are still loved from your fans. Thanks for the video.😘💕
If that's true, you wouldn't have compared him to Elvis, the fact that you compered him to Elvis instead of another singer, proves who's the best here, no hate 😂❤

Ok people, this might be a Ricky Nelson spot for his songs,BUT,I'm not gonna sit here and not comment on the real star power of Elvis.Elvis is not only still THE KING but always will be.His voice range is so dynamic, and his performances are top notch,he makes sure his fans get what they paid for. Kids growing up now are becoming Elvis Presley fans and he is just gorgeous as well. There are no one hit wonders for Elvis either, his songs are still well known today.💖💖💋💋 LEGEND LIVES,NEVER DIED,ITS UP TO YOU TO DECIDE.ELVIS NEVER LEFT THE BUILDING.THE IMAGE DIED ON 16.8.77 BUT THE MAN LIVES TODAY.HE TURNED 84 ON 8.1.2019. This is amazing! I grew up with the television show and they always ended the show with a performance by Rick Nelson. It was so heartbreaking when he died in that plane crash with his band.
A real teenage idol from the 50's. In my mind he was better looking and a better singer than Elvis. Don't get me wrong, Elvis was fantastic, but Ricky was also a very special person.
+Jack A Better looking and a better singer than Elvis? Tell me, are the clouds still pink & fluffy in La La Land?? It's certainly short of an opticians that's for sure. The following concept may be unfathomable to you, but have you ever thought that you can praise a singer without resorting to making stupid remarks about another?? Thankfully, as an Elvis fan, I don't have to resort to such crass stupidity to argue Elvis' case - history and the way he changed both music and popular culture does it for me. Now I'm going to break my own rule and say that Ricky Nelson's voice was a rather bland, limited one. He sounded the same on everything, be it a rocker or a ballad. Elvis could sing something like Hound Dog and Are You Lonesome Tonight and sound equally great in both, yet sound totally different. I like Ricky Nelson but a better singer than Elvis? Yeah, and I'm a better singer than Caruso. Keep taking the tablets pal. You never know, they might start working one day.
+Joe Black , Elvis had his own style of music and so did Rick. You can't compare the two. Personally I thought Hound Dog sucked, his early music was not very good. He didn't really reach his prime till he was older. Rick Nelson, had it from the start, but he sang a different style of song, and was GREAT at it.
Lyrics: It's up to you Because I've done everything I can I hope that you Will say that I'm your loving man Make up your mind And do what you're gonna do Well you know how I feel So I'm leaving it up to you It's all so clear That I would give everything I own To have you near Never leave me all alone I need your love So, darling, please be fair Let me know where I stand And I hope that you say you care Well I've laid my cards on the table And its oh so plain to see That I'm ready, willing and able To love you faithfully It's up to you No, it's not for me to say You love me too Oh, but I hope you feel that way Make up your mind And do what you're gonna do Well you know how I feel So I'm leaving it up to you Make up your mind And do what you're gonna do Well you know how I feel So I'm leaving it up to you It's up to you Darling, it's up to you Baby, it's up to you Darling, it's up to you Baby, it's up to you Darling. it's up to you Baby, it's up to you

They don't have guys like that today. I am thankful I grew up at the time I did. Ricky Nelson & Elvis. Nobody could come close. LOVE you both. RIP.
Yes, Rick was handsome. He was also kind of a tough guy. He befriended several USC football players when he was young, and used to rough house with them, holding his own, with little regard for his own safety. Rick was also a damn good musician, guitarists writer, and, of course, singer. Talented actor as well. His sons are great musicians too. Just can't get enough of rick Nelson's music.

wow.. real talent! almost looked surprised at the ovation he got after song was over. singer, songwriter, guitarist and humble. pretty much an extinct commodity these days. R.I.P.
not extinct at all. Chris Isaak has all those characteristics and more
Rick Nelson could sing like an angel...and now he is one.......Great Music for Dec 2020
💔☺️❤️
Elvis & Rick were first in line When GOD gave out looks & talent.....Thank you Lord.....
Hello Kate, how are you doing?
Ricky Nelson, now this is music, with James Burton on lead guitar.
... And I believe, Joe Osborn on bass.
J’adore James Burton un guitariste génial au top ❤️il a joué avec Roy Orbison ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of my absolute favorites by Rick - a tremendous tune indeed!!!!!
Years ago, one of my Christmas gifts from my daughter was a Ricky Nelson CD. I showed it to my young granddaughter and said I’ve always loved him. She whispered to me...does PopPop know?
Ricky Nelson is forever loved .. what a talented good looking singer ... gone too soon , RIP Ricky
Your legacy lives forever ❤️
My dream man. R.I.P. Ricky nelson
None of it is me
Artemisa, R.I.P Indeed my friend, just got one of his albums. Hes one of my all time inspirations for the music ive written.
When I was a young girl we watched "The Ozzie and Harriet" show every week. I had the biggest crush on Ricky, he was my boyfriend! I loved his singing.
+Barbara King He was so cute! ;D
+Kathryn Gaul .... glad u had a good time
Ugly duckling?
Be still my heart. Ricky Nelson was so handsome & dreamy looking. Such class for such a young man. So respectful. His voice was beautiful. Elvis was first & Ricky was next. There are no men today like them. They both were taken too soon. RIP. You both are still loved from your fans. Thanks for the video.😘💕
Phenomenal performance by Rick and the guitar playing is awesome
Brings me back to those good old days. So terrific, and so charming that I will never forget.
Just my opinion... Elvis had a wonderful voice, but Ricky's voice was beautiful...
No comparrison, loved them both!
They're both astounding to listen to.
Rio bravo
I'm still in love with Ricky Nelson.
@@vilmad007 is the first one to me
I SAW RICK IN GERMANY 1971 USAF BASE HIS MOM AND DAD PERFORMED ALSO MADE A GREAT SHOW STANDING ROOM ONLY ..................THANKS FOR GREAT TIMES
Such a loving person who lives his family, fans and the world at large.
He is a lot more humble and handsome than most singers including Elvis.
If that's true, you wouldn't have compared him to Elvis, the fact that you compered him to Elvis instead of another singer, proves who's the best here, no hate 😂❤
@@Ministoriesforfun I'd take Rick Nelson over Elvis Presley any day. I agree with the "more humble and handsome" comment elsewhere here.
@@georgeschire3590 you haven't seen the Elvis 1960 press conference......100%
I agree miss the whole family. Thank goodness for the re runs Best
Ricky forever….2024 and onward.
Pour toujours dans nos coeurs, beau chanteur avec sa voix sensuelle, sa diction parfaite, son charisme, sa beauté, il nous manque beaucoup, ❤❤❤❤
a handsome man and his songs will always be evergreen. His style is smooth and simple and refreshing!
Started learning guitar and singing in 58 I was 10 years old. Big influence on me . still play his music today. Rip sir and thank you for your music and memories.
He was so good looking, from his young years until the end. The slow blink got me each time I watch him.
My granddaughter came to me asking who he is. I told her about him. She's 15 years old. She started listening to his music. Ricky you have a new fan ❤❤❤❤
Hello Theresa. How are you doing?
He was a beautiful and kind person. i met him when i was a small child, he was so sweet.
I never tire of Ricky Nelson singing, he and Sam Cook were the best of the era
I agree. I loved them both. We lost them too soon. I grew up with them & their songs. Both were so handsome. RIP.😘💞
A wonderful voice, a very , very great Singer.
Wychowałam się na tego rodzaju muzyce i dlatego jest mi bliska sercu. Wielka szkoda, że Ricky Nelson zmar tragicznie w tak młodym wieku.
I have no clue what u said but, somehow I just KNOW that I agree w/everything u, said lol.
Ricky Nelson IS the best!
(& So good l👀king too!,
& Losing him @ his young age was tragical.)
Really, really handsome guy. Love all his songs. The strumming of the accompanied guitars were marvelous in those days. Cute & polite man.
Just so freaking 🔥
I really love Ricky's voice ♥️
And love this song :)
It was such an incredible time back then (50’s), & Rickie was part of everyone’s family, we were so lucky. Miss ya, Rickie, (David, your Mom & Dad)…….
One of the best ever thank you Jesus for letting me hear this young man 10 ❤️❤️
A man who really matched with his face and voice. Fantastic voice and good looking. I still enjoy listening to him.
CELERBRATE!!!💖💖💖💖💋💋💋💋🔥🔥🔥🔥🌟🌟🌟🌟🌠🌠🌠🌠🌋🌋🌋🌋🎯🎯🎯🎯😍😍😍😍🤫🤫🤫🤫
Lyndal Cooper why does it have to be a competition?
The Beatles are the real king they sold more records than Elvis in only 7 years and took his spotlight lmao.
None can beat you, past nor present. Such a darling. I listen to his songs everyday in 2024. I'm 75 & lived in the 50s, etc.
Il est toujours apprécié, magnifique chanteur et tellement beau, on l adore❤❤❤, bonjour de France🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
Coming back to enjoy! It’s beautiful to be here 💖💞💕
I never realized how handsome Ricky Nelson truly was
what a innocent time... where young men wearing suit and tie... It was heaven on earth...🥲
It can go back if the people were no brainwashed by media government s
Thank you for respecting his wish to be known as Rick, not Ricky.
+Penny Oneal i agree penny but we lost him too ;
+Joe Black , Elvis had his own style of music and so did Rick. You can't compare the two. Personally I thought Hound Dog sucked, his early music was not very good. He didn't really reach his prime till he was older. Rick Nelson, had it from the start, but he sang a different style of song, and was GREAT at it.
+Joe Black Ha, Ricky Nelson just didn't live long enough :(
+Havard Howell Not funny.
Lyrics:
It's up to you
Because I've done everything I can
I hope that you
Will say that I'm your loving man
Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
It's all so clear
That I would give everything I own
To have you near
Never leave me all alone
I need your love
So, darling, please be fair
Let me know where I stand
And I hope that you say you care
Well I've laid my cards on the table
And its oh so plain to see
That I'm ready, willing and able
To love you faithfully
It's up to you
No, it's not for me to say
You love me too
Oh, but I hope you feel that way
Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
Make up your mind
And do what you're gonna do
Well you know how I feel
So I'm leaving it up to you
It's up to you
Darling, it's up to you
Baby, it's up to you
Darling, it's up to you
Baby, it's up to you
Darling. it's up to you
Baby, it's up to you
Vinicius Silva thanks!
Excellent! 🔥🍻
Most underated, versatile talent
I agree. Ricky Nelson was underated in my opion. His voice was beautiful. He was so handsome also. I grew up watching Ozzie & Harriet. They were a beautiful family. They don't have guys like that today. I am thankful I grew up at the time I did. Ricky Nelson & Elvis. Nobody could come close. LOVE you both. RIP.
He himself and his charm, more than PERFECT!
God Ricky Nelson had a Beautiful voice and just as Beautiful a face
So easy to listen to and so easy on the eyes
Nice song thanks Ricky Nelson perfect voice .RIP.🌷💕
If I go to Heaven I hope your music will be there as music I love!
One of my favorite guitar solos of all time. So simple but effective! James Burton was the man
Grew up in the 50's watching Ozzie & Harriet...Loved Ricky's music....Best music ever was from 1956 to to 1974...
He was One of a Kind, and THANK GOD that he left so much GREAT music behind. R I P Mr. Nelson!! And thank you for SO MANY happy childhood memories!!!
