Enjoy your videos. We bought a new 2023 BMW X5 after testing driving the X5 and X5M( I was a Jeep Grand Cherokee fan, by the way, but not with their price) . Since I'm not going to drag race the SUV and drive 120+ on the surface road every day, the X5 has enough luxury and speed I will ever need. We also bought extended mechanic, service warranty, and tire coverage. It all brings the out-the-door price to around 74K with discounts. There were some heavy road reconstructions around our neighborhood for over a year and half. We ran over so much shit we changed every tire at least once at different times because the holes and cuts were so bad they could not be patched. I also ran over a crowbar once and damaged a rear wheel and fender cover that had to be replaced. All the cost was "0". Just replace a rear wheel and tire already paid for the extended warranty. Every time we buy a new or used car, we always purchase a transferable extended warranty to cover the life of the vehicle. That could be something you can talk about in your video.
I paid about $114,800 for my house in 2012. If I wanted a "JEEP", I want one like Daisy Duke (Catherine Bach) had on "The Dukes of Hazzard", or the one Pam Dawber had on "Mork & Mindy". Maybe 4WD, or maybe RWD. A simple, functional workhorse.
You should be comparing the Waggoneers with GM and Ford full size SUV's. I used to work at a C, D, J, R dealership and we had Waggoneers and Hornets that we had since there were shipped to our dealership that they were first models. The problem is when someone wants to test drive, you have to jump it. When jumping a Hornet R/T, you have to charge the battery for 2 hours and then program the modules. C, D, J, R vehicles are overpriced because they are putting all the bells and whistles in the vehicles.
118k is absolutely insane for known issues with quality. Regardless of depreciation, family size, income, net worth. My first house was 90K. A very nice 4 bed ranch all brick with 2 acres of land in 1995. Less than 30 years later a truck that will be in the junkyard in a few years costs about the same.
It is like the auto industry forgot the lesson that Henry Ford taught about economics of scale and selling to the entire middle/working class with an affordable product.
The bean counters don't look at things that way anymore. It's all about profit margin per vehicle, and luxury priced SUVs and trucks are what bring them the most profit per unit sold. They could give two shits what the average middle class American wants and needs.
FYI a couple of cars you pointed at as having "flat" paint, was incorrect. They were non-metallic, glossy finish colors, not "flat," which refers to the non-reflective, almost industrial/military like finish available as special order on some vehicles.
Parts delays across the board for a ton of models with no ETA. Dealers Can’t sell the vehicles on their lot. Dodge, Jeep and ram are going to the highest bidder. Stellantis has to sell the brands.

The basic Jeep design was created in 1937. I think their development course have long ago been paid for sure. They’ve updated a few things here and there, but the essential design is still the same. They play the same design going on 100 years.
Just checked out a Grand Wagoneer on Jeep Canada to see the insane price. They are offering an $11,000 discount but it only applies if you finance it over 84 or 96 months at 5.49% interest. Doing the math and financing it at 72 months without their discount but a higher price for the jeep, you still save money. What crooks.
@@MotorFeed Yeah, offering a product at a disclosed price with a clearly-published interest rate and payment schedule is so shady and deceptive. What next? Credit cards that cost you money if you don't pay in full every month? The horror.
On that grand wagoneer that was really expensive you should know that when you looked and it had the V6 hurricane engine you have to look in the options because it could be replaced by the v8 so it might not really have a V6 in it it might have been replaced with a v8 in the opinions list. That square body would look good next to my K5 Blazer. And damn, I remember it wasn't long ago that a car that cost 100K or more would be something really special-not some generic-looking mall crawler mom-mobile.
I'm a Toyota/Lexus person all the way through myself. Around 20-25 years ago or so I had strong leanings towards BMW and Mercedes when it came to what a luxury vehicle is and should be. They are both nice brands but just not my cup of tea anymore. As I discovered Toyota and Lexus since that time.. and I know those brands are not everyone else's cup of tea either so please spare me. With that said I look at these Jeeps, the Grand Wagoneer more specifically and its hefty price tag. There is really no way I would ever consider that option up next to a comparable Lexus with a $70-80k pricetag on it. I certainly wouldn't go after a Lexus with $120k price tag like the Jeep option even if I was flush with cash, it just would never happen. I have had a brand new vehicle before and will never go that route again because of the high prices and the instant depreciation. I am perfectly comfortable and satisfied with a gently used, certified pre owned Toyota/Lexus around $30k or under. These cars/trucks across the board these days are just not all they are cracked up to be anymore in my opinion as most brands have really gone down the tubes (including some of Toyota/Lexus) these last 3 to 5 years or so. I just want quality, a decent looking and reliable ride, nothing overly glammed up or flashy as I really have nothing to prove to anybody. The car is not an extension of my worthiness as a person on this planet.. if that is you then so be it. I'd go back to a car from the 60's, 70's, 80's if it was in good shape.
I've owned numerous Wranglers 4 or 5 Cherokees (3 XJs) 3 Grands (ZJ's) 1 Wagoner and a Comanche.I felt a departure starting in 2006 and a general distaste for the name now.Way to turn an actual fan. They have gotten so far away from where they began, I dont see them bouncing back anytime soon
I currently own two XJs and one comanche. Ive owned muktiple wjs zjs and a wagoneer. I would never EVER buy a post 2006 jeep. My wife drives my 2006 4runner and from here on out all im buying for daily drivers are toyotas(not the newest generation). But im gonna continue to hoard xjs and i really want a 5.9 zj.
I'd get the Yukon Denali or even better the AT4. My most luxurious vehicle was an F150 limited and I would never do it again. By the way I bought that truck used with 10,000 miles for $41K but it sticker for $55K so that was 2014 so just look at how much the price has increased in 10 years.
Thanks mate enjoy your channel, being a car nut and an American vehicle lover your prices are still dooo, able compared to here in Australia, and now your new presidents got some interesting ideas on import /export duty,s which will hurt the buying price here ,and yes i agree Lexus is great value and based on Toyota components generally very reliable. Jeep prices are absurd, however you are not comparing same size vehicles. The Grand Wagoneer is a massive 3 row SUV and most of the other vehicles you compared to are just not the same size.
I have owned two jeeps. This is why i will never buy another. Bought a Chrysler. It needed a new engine within the main warranty period. They denied it because all of the oil changes were not completed at the dealership. Stay away from this company!
prices of autos the last couple years got me thinking everyone’s pay other than mine must have increased substantially cuz how else can ppl afford these prices? I must be financially poor even tho I have zero debt cuz I can’t contemplate paying the the average $45k auto
The Key to the Pricing: Just add a mouthful of words or acronyms for the type of Jeep it is and that means at least 10,000.00 more for each word in the title.
Jeeps are way overpriced. When I was considering getting a new Wrangler 4xe not affected by the battery recall, it was in the mid mid 70s. I ended up buying a really nice Defender 110 instead and it's a nice upgrade and step up from my previous Jeep.
Go ahead and ask a salesmen what the payments will be on one of those "cheap" $75k vehicles with 20% down for 60 months ,,,(with 6-8 % interest,,). Now DIVIDE that payment into your monthly take home income (remembering this is for 5 years although 6 and even 7 year terms may be available). If it exceeds 10% (recommended) you can't afford it.
I'll just keep maintaining and fixing my '17 Ram, thank you very much. They've tricked people into thinking $50,000-$100,000+ is a good price for a Jeep product. Give me a break. Although I somewhat agree that you'd might as well get a true luxury brand instead of a Grand Wagoneer, just wait until you have to fix that luxury car. You're going to regret it.

Those prices NO ! Thanks !
But it has 24 cup holders😂
Did I miss Jeep’s SHOCKING announcement ???
I could have 6 kids, wife and a million dollars in bank and still would not buy that. A RV or fixer upper home in the sticks makes more sense. lol. Wtf is the dealer smoking, cr@ck is wack.🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
A 118k vehicle is not marked to people with a million in their bank account, champ. Add a zero to that.
*Poor person bleats out how they would live if they were wealthy. Doctors report a major increase in eyeroll-related injuries.*
I don't like those oddly placed screens either. They look like someone glued his/her iPad to to dash temporarily.
Jeep should never be in the same price range as Mercedes or Porsche…. Literally WTF
Luxury and Jeep should never be in the same sentence 😑 EVER or reliability 🤭
My first house was 90K. A very nice 4 bed ranch all brick with 2 acres of land in 1995. Less than 30 years later a truck that will be in the junkyard in a few years costs about the same.
It is like the auto industry forgot the lesson that Henry Ford taught about economics of scale and selling to the entire middle/working class with an affordable product.
The bean counters don't look at things that way anymore. It's all about profit margin per vehicle, and luxury priced SUVs and trucks are what bring them the most profit per unit sold. They could give two shits what the average middle class American wants and needs.
Local Jeep dealer has a 2023 Grand Wagoneer advertised at $15K under MSRP. Comically that "discount" is not sufficient to get the thing sold.
The last 2 ram trucks I owned were both garbage. I will never buy a turbo engine. I will only buy naturally aspirated.
Same here. The last Ram truck I had had so many problems that I could write a book on its poor build quality and cheap parts.
Which turbo Ram trucks did you have?
you can fix broken but you cant fix stupid 🤗
FYI a couple of cars you pointed at as having "flat" paint, was incorrect. They were non-metallic, glossy finish colors, not "flat," which refers to the non-reflective, almost industrial/military like finish available as special order on some vehicles.
Parts delays across the board for a ton of models with no ETA. Dealers Can’t sell the vehicles on their lot. Dodge, Jeep and ram are going to the highest bidder. Stellantis has to sell the brands.
I will say I've almost owned almost every brand and I love my 4×e Rubicon with a Rubicon x package. Better than any car on the road. I got $13,000 off of it. I do agree with you All of the car prices are way too high!!
I get your point with the Mercedes and agree with you. But with that said, you need to research the power of those hurricane HP. They make crazy power. It might only last 20k miles but they make great power
I'm 51yrs old. $40,000 weekly and *I'm retired, this video have inspired me greatly in many ways that I remember my past of how I struggled with many things in life to be where I am today!!!!* ❤️

I do know Ms. Maria Frances Hanlon, I also have even become successful....
Absolutely! I've heard stories of people who started with little to no knowledge but made it out victoriously thanks to Ms. Maria Frances Hanlon.
Head over to the Acura dealership and show the MDX. SH-AWD, N/A 3.5L engine, great value and tech for money and one-ups Lexus with their fwd and turbo vehicles.
The basic Jeep design was created in 1937. I think their development course have long ago been paid for sure. They’ve updated a few things here and there, but the essential design is still the same. They play the same design going on 100 years.
I wonder what repair and maintenance costs look like for the ineos
Just checked out a Grand Wagoneer on Jeep Canada to see the insane price. They are offering an $11,000 discount but it only applies if you finance it over 84 or 96 months at 5.49% interest. Doing the math and financing it at 72 months without their discount but a higher price for the jeep, you still save money. What crooks.
That is some deceptive stuff right there.
@@MotorFeed Yeah, offering a product at a disclosed price with a clearly-published interest rate and payment schedule is so shady and deceptive.
What next? Credit cards that cost you money if you don't pay in full every month? The horror.
Bitcoin hit 95,000, which is more crazy? We are not in normal times.
Fair point
Bought a Jeep a couple years ago. Had no idea insurance classified it as a “luxury car”.
Off road luxury, which most don’t even go off road
On that grand wagoneer that was really expensive you should know that when you looked and it had the V6 hurricane engine you have to look in the options because it could be replaced by the v8 so it might not really have a V6 in it it might have been replaced with a v8 in the opinions list. Just been in the car business my entire life so i know a few things
I really like the Ineos but I don't have a dealer anywhere even remotely close to me.
I'm not sure I've ever ever seen a grand wagoneer on the road. When did jeep start making giant SUVs?
I'd get the Yukon Denali or even better the AT4. My most luxurious vehicle was an F150 limited and I would never do it again. By the way I bought that truck used with 10,000 miles for $41K but it sticker for $55K so that was 2014 so just look at how much the price has increased in 10 years.
I wouldn’t consider any of these with the exception of a Lexus over the Jeep, not that I would consider that wagoner either.
Drive safe bloke

Jeep prices are absurd, however you are not comparing same size vehicles. The Grand Wagoneer is a massive 3 row SUV and most of the other vehicles you compared to are just not the same size.
The Wagoneer was THE picture of American Luxury SUVs in the '80s. They're just trying to return to form.
It's wild that anyone would pay for that..... 😂😂
I'm could replace my Grand Cherokee Altitude but not buying at these prices...no way. Might just buy a restomod instead.
Jeep SUV more expensive than Mercedes GLS? F. That.
Jeep hasn’t been cheap since you could get one in an army surplus crate that you had to assemble yourself. Jeep was never bargain-basement.
The x5 xdrive40i is the recommended one and it's under $68k.
I really like when the salesperson says they are losing money.
Right. I know a Dodge Ram jeep GM who was making approximately half a Million a few years ago but I think hes not making close to that today.
Crazy depreciation on those after leaving the dealership
Um.... I need to know where that chevy square body is at. State, city and dealer please.
The Key to the Pricing: Just add a mouthful of words or acronyms for the type of Jeep it is and that means at least 10,000.00 more for each word in the title.
Rented a Jeep for a weekend trip, and nothing in it said luxury brand.
Insanity for a Jeep or RAM! I ordered a new luxurious Lexus LC500 coupe, with a V8. For $104,000.00. Not including the military discount.
We have been tricked into believing we need luxury things, you need things that work, that's it.
How much does it cost to service each of the vehicles
You're going to regret it.
should have had the cadilac escalade and the licolon navigator on here. you can get a 2025 escalade for 81,000.
2024
Great points in this video. I wouldn't have thought the European cars would be an alternative to a jeep.
If these things were half price, they’d be pretty decent
What could go wrong? Jeep is suddenly a luxury brand
If I was in the market for a new car (which I'm not), I would probably pick a Toyota 4Runner or a Subaru Outback.
If people read reliability and resale data, no one would ever buy a Jeep.
Jeep Wranglers have the highest resale of all brands SUVs with high resale value include:
Jeep Wrangler: A midsize SUV with a 5-year resale value of 91.1%. Some Wrangler models can retain over 60% of their original price after five years.
Toyota 4Runner: A 5-year resale value of 73.88%.
Toyota Land Cruiser: A 5-year resale value of 73.83%.
Toyota RAV4: A 5-year resale value of 73.10%.
Subaru Crosstrek: A crossover SUV with a 5-year resale value of 69.8%.
Lexus UX 200: A luxury subcompact SUV with a 5-year resale value of 66.4%.
Toyota Corolla Cross: A small/compact SUV with a 5-year resale value of 68.6%.
Lexus NX 350: A luxury small/compact SUV with a 5-year resale value of 66%.
Lexus RX 350: A luxury midsize SUV with a 5-year resale value of 65.3%.
Lexus LX 570: A luxury large SUV with a 5-year resale value of 63%.
Please make a vid about Subaru, Mazda or Mitsubishi. Greeting from Bavaria.
if that car can flying i don't mind that price but just like regular car in that price no way i rather buy me a house 😂😂😂
Is anyone else tired of the endless videos about how" Chrysler cars a too expensive"!!!! And "this is FINALLY IT the are DONE. ( For REALLY REALLY REAL this time!!!) ...maybe 😑
A Chevy Suburban or Tahoe Z71 are mutch better looking. How many do you know have been on a dealers lot for over 250 days.
The problem isn't just that Jeeps are way overpriced, they're garbage also. A one, two punch of failure on Stellantis' part.
Hahaha, when he founds a giant Sprinter bigger than the Grand Wagoneer,he says is great for your family adventures and all the stuff you can carry, so it's better. When he founds a Q8, smaller than the Grand Wagoneer, he says you seldomly will fill up that huge Jeep, so the Audi is better.😂
I really want to meet the person who paid $118K for a Jeep.
Mercedes QUIETLY doubled their incentives on most of its line over the weekend.
No Jeep should cost over $30,000 to 35,000.
Considering Luxury depression, these Wagoneers will be 50k or less within 2 years.
They can keep them at those prices !!! 🤣
I've been looking at a 22' Audi sq8
They are literally twice as expensive as they should be yet Stellantis is whining why won't anybody buy our cars?
Thank you for the video.
The Chevy Tahoe has been out for YEARS why would anyone go with the wagoneer?!
Great review ! How about small basic cars ?
There aren't any.
And you can't buy any small trucks but I found out why a lot of times it government regulation and penalties on manufacturers that raise the cost all these vehicles and inflation and supply shortages and scarcity
@@lot2196 Nissan versa and a Mitsubishi have a small car under 20k brand new. Nissan 3 year 36k warranty and 10 year 100k for Mitsubishi.
