Zeppelin had such an extensive catalog that the Rover seemed to get overlooked. The Rover is so great other bands could have built a career around a song of this stature. The Rover never gets the attention it deserves. Thanks for sharing. Keep rocking!
On PHYSICAL GRAFFITI ...ROVER just another example of Zepps ability to keep changing it up...these guys were true artists and not driven by commercialism..my appreciation for all their music never wanes...any song they played became my favourite of the moment..then next favourite and on and on and on....timeless entertainment.
Not driven by commercialism is spot on to me. They produced music they enjoyed and they all pushed themselves to achieve personal and group satisfaction in what they produced. It just so happened millions of people enjoyed it as well. But I wouldn’t say the same about Peter Grant who was brilliant at looking after their finances and was commercially perfect for them.
STB; Zepppelin were like a 3 layered Red Velvet cake with Robert bein the Cherry on top. Amazily talented one & all they were and Still are THE Rock band that others are measured against
We all are in a journey called Life. The song explores its boundaries in many levels and perspectives. Some have walked a further path than others. Future is indeed uncertain with its ups and downs but together we feel hopeful. It reflects of human race's nature to discover new frontiers inside or outside our physical, mental, or spiritual world.
Great song, sorry Custard Pie was blocked. These songs groove so well. It makes you realize how good Jones was. He’s kind of underrated which is crazy considering all the color he added to so many Zeppelin songs with his keyboard work alone. Being a drummer myself, Bonham was a huge if not the biggest influence on my playing. The guitar was stellar here with the usual multiple tracks. This one was originally recorded for Zeppelin’s fourth album and it didn’t make it onto the album obviously. Very glad it found its way onto vinyl with this double album, arguably Zeppelin at their zenith.
Wayne, it was alluded to briefly on the retrospective review that you read, but the guitar parts on this song are HIGHLY melodic and subtle - especially the central solo - which should be heard several times to be fully appreciated. For this reason the song was lost on most contemporary reviewers. The whole of Physical Graffiti takes you on a trip of the band's full range of influences and diverse styles, fully realised on this album. Peace.
@@SoulTrainBro Thanks for that, Wayne. Yes, I agree - it's the only way. The excitement that we felt when listening to a new album - just playing it all the way through from start to finish. Oh, by the way, brother, yours is the #1 reaction channel: deep, considered and thoughtful. Best wishes from England x
Thank you soul bro! For being just like the DJs of long ago. Great band good song not my favorite on the album but then again it's not a bad song on that album.
Many bands make an album and there maybe one or two good to great songs in it. And here we are, looking for Led Zeppelin’s one bad song in ALL of their albums. (For me is Hats Off to Harper).
You need to get a hold of Zeppelin III on vinyl so you can play with the cover. You won't be disappointed. You can actually play with the cover for Physical Graffiti too, but it's not as much fun as LZ III.
If you are flipping from one instrument to another then you have a musicians ear. Most people can not do this. They can for example hear the beat but could not tune into a ride cymbal or just listen to the kick drum. I'll bet you play an instrument of some type good or bad as long as you enjoy it. If you don't play you should think about it. You might surprise yourself how easy it might come to you.
Have you ever thought about doing The Beach Boys, Bro? Don't get me wrong, I'll take all the Zeppelin you want. However, the Beach Boys were a great, underrated band. ruclips.net/video/mdt0SOqPJcg/видео.html
The greatest band of ALL TIME!!!!!
No doubt.
And always will be!!✌❤✌🤘🤘
Oh yeah
No argument there!!!!☘
100% pure hard rock. Nobody did it better than Led Zeppelin.
The Rover! One of the best tracks ever from one of the best albums ever from the best band ever!
One of my favs... love that dirty slashing guitar.
Zeppelin had such an extensive catalog that the Rover seemed to get overlooked. The Rover is so great other bands could have built a career around a song of this stature. The Rover never gets the attention it deserves. Thanks for sharing. Keep rocking!
The Rover, YES! I have no words....

Critics often rip on Plant's "inconsistent & indefinite pitch" on this tune -- but for me, it fits the song perfectly
You are the best of the best, no one else even comes close,I hope You never stop your reactions. God bless You!

Every Led Zeppelin song… Gotdammn… That Bass… That Guitar… Those Drums!!! Well… and JPJ’s keys, and the occasional Harmonica… it never stops.
My friend Carl used to say, years ago, that Led Zeppelin were the Godfathers of funk.

I’m so inspired by your thoughtful literate responses to all music....the international language..ty to a fellow vet.
Thank you Dave.
Incredible song from their great Physical Graffiti album! Love it. ♥️🎼🎶🎵🇨🇦
This album changed my life when I was 12.
Great reaction. Plant had a Range Rover. Used to travel around Morocco in it. Ties in well with Kashmir. Let me take you there!!

Love your in-depth reactions ! Your the best on here!
I appreciate that!

You're right Tony. That's why I've decided to redo all the albums - but in full this time. A straight through reaction and review.

Thank you soul bro! For being just like the DJs of long ago. Great band good song not my favorite on the album but then again it's not a bad song on that album.

My Dad's favourite Zeppelin track (and probably mine as well).
Great song choice Bro.... a great song and great breakdown.
One of my go to Led Zeppelin songs
Check out “ How The West Was Won”. All live recordings from concerts. It’s their best work‼️🎶♥️
He did reaction to this. Its on his vimeo
They are good.

A very Zeppelinesque song I recommend to you would be "Calling to You" from Robert Plant's solo career.
a top 10 Zep song for me

"Joining hands" with a lover who is lying on the DARK SIDE of the globe."
I think this is where Gerte Van Fleet. Got their style. LZ for sure but this particular song
Only problem is that I always thought the bass was too far down in the mix. Should get it up there like Squire's bass. Let JPB breathe.
You tube is a mess . Like your takes on music.
Had an old rover once but it kept breaking down ?
That bass is stanky...JPJ is the motorr on this cut.
Or grandfathers...hahahaha...can't remember...
